Once upon a time this guy was the most talented and entertaining boxer that I’ve ever witnessed. Tyson was a beast. I’ve seen the Ali footage before he was Ali. But Roy was perfect in his prime.

He was unorthodox but athletically gifted and effective. Reflexes of a feline, sublime speed that comprised of combinations ending with that beautiful jumping left rip to the body. Master of setting traps, after living through his prime it’s unfortunate he didn’t have those opponents who could test him and he would often prolong fights for the fans than knock em out early

I'm sure if the boxing federation and promotors put the money and time they do with Joshua into usyk he would look like the champion he is. They've created this poster boy image of Joshua and forgotten about all these other heavyweights, up and coming, and those like usyk.......the man's undefeated, does that not prove anything. No one downplaying usyk...but they just wanted to see Usyk against the best AJ ...but Jones Jr is right AJ seems to have lost the eye of the tiger. Even when he fought klitchsko he was being outboxed and gassing but later rounds he ran through him with power and speed and haven't seen that Joshua since he got beat by Ruiz....fights more tentative and measured, which is good in the fact he's improved his boxing skills and is more fluid but he's lost what made him fearful and hard to beat in first place. His power is his main asset and he didn't impose himself at all. Chisora made Usyk look a little out of his depth when they fought at times by using size advantage, expected AJ to have done something similar but he tried to out box a masterful boxer.

The atrophy is predominant on the left cortex but it's the right side of the body that has lost 99% of sensation and usage. That's always funny to me. The arm went, then the leg, then the back because the brain runs the body. When it can't communicate to the muscles they just atrophy and then 'die' for want of a better term. Hell put me back in the ring because if you don't knock me down I won't be able to feel any punches on the right side of my face. @midas mixuk Yeah he should have stuck behind the jab and backpedaled every time Usyk moved in. No sitting in the mid range where Usyk can land. AJ should have clinched Usyk every time he rushed in. Also did not go to the body enough or manage enough stomach shots.
Those helped him a lot against Usyk then he just quit doing them. AJ also could have swung at Usyk's exposed arms and elbows as he rushed in. AJ's biggest problem was mental, not physical.

Even his instructions in the fight between rounds seemed too drawn out and complex. I remember Emanuel Steward when Lennox Lewis was fighting Tyson and was being tentative early on.....Steward in between rounds slaps Lennox Lewis' chest and fumes at him...'let your fucking hands go !
