    Hey man i dont know if you will see this but, i play video games competively and i often feel like my pc isnt consistant and sometimes feels delayed and other times feels lightning fast, an example of this is when playing fortnite some days my game is extremely smooth, other days my fps feels choppy even though i have no frame drops or issues, kinda feels blurry in a sense, any ideas why this may be? i play on 240 fps and sometimes it just feels like even though im getting 240 fps my game feels like it has motion blur, it makes it really hard to play consistant when my visuals seem to be not consistant, also i was wondering if having 2 240 fps monitors affects my performance? should i change my second monitor (usually i use for reading chat why livestreaming) to 60 fps? please get back to me bro! i was your 423 subscriber! #NOTIFICATIONGANG. @Davefinito  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      hey man. I think in part if you're running Windows 10 2004 there's an issue but seems to be random. I've seen people post about choppiness randomly but it's hard to pin point. I experienced the blue screen DPC watchdog error recently, so I pulled back to Windows 10 1909 for now.
      I haven't heard about motion blur issues but maybe you may need to resort to using DDU to clean remove and reinstall the NVIDIA driver. Maybe even go back to 446.19.
      It's better to have both monitors at 240hz as long as only 1 display is using the GPU heavily e.g. Fortnite. If you have mixed refresh rates, especially in older versions of Windows, you'll have display lag. The other thing you can do in your apps and browsers is turn off hardware gpu acceleration. It will increase resources slightly off the CPU but reduce on the GPU. This may help.

      @@Davefinito I went back on my 2080 TI drivers and now it runs better, can you do a video on how to synchronize my input lag and my monitor response time? I kind of understand the basics on response time but for some reason you seem very knowledgeable and would like your take on how it affects gaming, I understand with faster response times it can cause motion blur or ghosting but when I tested 7 milliseconds of response time compared to 1 millisecond I don't see much of a difference and the higher refresh rate look smoother but at the same time seems more blurry. I ask that you do a video that teaches us how to sync our framerate, I used fixed refresh and really appreciate the benefits of using fixed refresh however some days it seems like my frame rate and my monitor are not on the same page, even though I'm getting a stable 240 FPS sometimes I feel like something is causing my monitor and game to not be in sync, one example of this is and very fast-moving scenarios I feel as if where I'm shooting and where I see the person on my screen is slightly behind where they actually are

    You say not to take microsofts own drivers but those are actually some of the most stable - they require a collaboration between microsoft and the retailer to agree a high standard of stability and quality before they make it into the automated stable, so if anything you would actually want to chose microsofts version of the driver given the quality control it's gone through to be accepted. Note you will notice that those drivers are not available on the retailer's own sites.

    Ok, i did most of it, got to say, Thanks A LOT ! Finaly got rid of the annoying 1-5sec delay on everything i click.
    And some of the useless bloatware crap is finaly gone, got back my feeling of having more control over my own pc. Thanks for that!
    I do still suffer from a 15-20 % cpu usage when the cpu should be idle with nothing open at all (fresh start after a few min waiting till its completely booted), only antivirus and stuff like that is started.
    I would like to get rif of that to if possible, when i compare the cpu usage with win7 i had before, idle was "idle", like litt. 0% usage, sometimes 5 ich but then back to 0%.
    Now its more like 15-25%, and im wondering why.
    Did full system scans on Viruses & Malware & Spybots, nothing found, did it with many different ones just to be sure than no scanner just missed something.
    So, still, a big thank you, and if you know a good tut. vid., on how to reduce cpu usage, please let me know.

    Can you do a before and after input latency test? These steps seem useful but how do we really know if they help :/

    • @Davefinito
      @Davefinito  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Derek, the main reason why there are 4 parts with a whole bunch of things to try is because everyone has a different type of configuration. Could be different hardware, software, apps, games, etc.
      What people should be doing is make changes to areas that suit their needs to see if they have better results. Some might have no change, others could have an improvement and then there are those that could have worse results. Of course, for those with worse results, steps are in the descriptions to reverse them. Then they can try something else. Also, Latency mon helps, but it could also be synthetic numbers. Changes should be tried in app or game to see if it really worked out. But if you do everything at once and there's a problem, you won't know what to correct, if that makes sense?
      It's also why I said changes are made by choice. If I make a video and put all of this in with benchmarks,, I could have great results but others could have worse results because their config is different. Then it could then be interpreted as a hardware or software review which is not the intent.
      Hope this helps understand the video a little more.

      Hi Raj, I've looked at the entire script and the one thing that stands out is Cortana. In later iterations of Windows 10, Cortana was baked into the search bar/ start menu. If it was disabled through certain registry command it could create lag in accessing the start menu and launching apps. If you disabled Cortana by pressing the Disable Cortana button in the debloater, I would enable Cortana. Then if you want Cortana off, disable it through start -> settings -> privacy -> speech. You can also remove the Cortana icon from the search bar too.
      The rest of the commands in the script disable scheduled tasks/registry lines related to telemetry, remove some store apps that come from pre-installed plus the buttons if selected to remove certain components if pressed (e.g. Onedrive).
      I'm guessing it's Cortana that's disabled. Hope this helps

Keep in mind i have a 2080ti as my current pc graphics card, and that is currently paired with the 1920x (henceforth why im switching it out to a 3900x). bottom line, im looking to use my 1920x to build a secondary pc (stream pc) and i have a few questions. Now that we are on the same page i want to remind you that i have 16gb of spare 3000mhz ram sitting around, 2 extra ssd (1tb each), already have the motherboard to the 1920x (x399-e by asus). so my question is (first) since i already have a 2080ti which ill be using to game with, what graphics card should i atleast have on my stream pc (I WANT TO STREAM IN 1080p flawless definition) is a 2060 super more than enough? Also my second question is, since ive purchased a 3900x now i need a motherboard, is their any motherboard u recomend? i will be using a kracken x72 cooler on my main gaming pc (3900x)? thanks man

      Hey. Congrats on the 3900x! Are you planning to get a capture card for the streaming pc? If so, what capture card? That would help understand GPU need for the streaming pc. Usually passthrough mode has lower latency vs clone has lower latency.
      Part of the decision on motherboards are: how much RAM do I want to put in later? Note - diminishing returns on infinity fabric happens at DDR4-3600, but with a better board, you might be able to push 3733. Additional things like Bluetooth may or may not be needs.
      Initial thought is ASUS TUF/ Strix or maybe crosshair if you’re looking for better cooking on the mb. Leaning toward x570 unless you want a b450. If you go for a b450, it needs to have a recent bios update to support zen 2. I’ll need to get back to you on gigabyte and MSI.

      More than enough, though if you have 3x16GB sticks, use 2 so you're running in dual channel. Otherwise it's single channel with a performance hit.

      I totally hear you. When you get a new system, especially when advertised as a gaming rig - you should have very good response times and minimal input lag. Not find a whole bunch of extras that increase input lag on your PC.

    I personally don't recommend those debloat scripts.
    I tried and it fucked up my microsoft store + xbox games apps.
    It was better to have the option to individually uninstall certain bloatware (the ones not allowed by microsoft)
    I downloaded the trial version of Revo Uninstaller and it has the Windows Apps option there.

    I”m a musician. Ikve recently found out that I need to be able to switch off “Turbo Mode” and “Connected Standby” in reg edit within Windows.Without the ability to do this, any Windows laptop will be of no use to me, due to the constant power grabs that these codes are used for. If I cannot turn off Turbo mode then I will get clicks/pops in my audio/and constant “throttling” . I need maximum (or near) power resources going to my Cubase/Logic/Ableton software. According to info received, Microsoft have completely removed the ability to do this in it’s latest 2014 software update.
    Do you know a way around this prob? I believe the new software just gives you a “slider” labelled something like More-Less! This is a big problem for audio professionals using DAWs. Any help would be v much appreciated!
    Do you know if this latest update has put this application back?
    Desperate find out!

      It kind of sounds like you might need the app called ISLC. It’s like timer resolution but it has an option to clear the stand by list and frees memory near 100% use automatically. Have you looked into that app before?

    • @Fllemingo
      @Fllemingo 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      TheDaveStuff I will try it out however I’m not sure how it will help. Weirdly enough I have to use Windows 10 1607 version because every other newer version just makes the input lag kick in faster and I have no idea why.

    • @Davefinito
      @Davefinito  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      The Windows standby memory list issue started in 1703. If it's related to the lag you experienced, then ISLC will help on newer versions of Windows 10.
