With a repair manual, no Google! I fix a lot of things that surprise me but Google has always been at my fingertips. Thankfully he had the fortitude to buy that manual.
Buy a small trail bike like a Yamaha XT250. Mount it on a front tow hitch carrier. Would make a great back up form of transportation (and fun for playing around too!)
Many towns/counties these days it’s legal to drive a non plated vehicle to town to get gas/provisions, deep sockets etc. makes sense when their economy is based on the tourists with the side by sides, dirt bikes etc. Eagle, CO, and lots in Southern CO.
Veteran Sherman electric unicycle- the size of luggage with 3200wh battery, 100 miles in range and 45mph top speed! He could keep it right in the back seat on the floor behind the driver seat
It really sucks when you get broken down but, it adds to the adventure. It's good to have friends around to help you out too. I hope you can get the truck 🚚 fixed soon.
It feels wrong hitting the like button on a video where your going through so much grief, but I’ll do it anyway. I was rooting for ya to gettin it fixed on this one. Good humans are few and far, but its nice to see them help ya out
Riigghhtt, it’s all about numbers for them though and Lord knows, this off grid Nomad nightmare deserves the TH-cam numbers game for effort. I even sat through the ads for him. This is sad, what a situation to be stuck in! Late risers or not, definitely model members of societies. Maybe just don’t bring so much booze up the hill on the one wheel.
*Bro ! You hang in there. Keep going and do what you can. You're going to have a completely overhauled F-250 Diesel engine running perfectly when you're done.*
sorry this happened man, but keep in mind that for me this was a reminder of what adventure really is! with risk comes reward, and with adventure comes risk... when these stories are over they suddenly become part of the satisfaction of your overall adventure, and a reminder that you yourself are capable of overcoming such things.... also of the good in people that help you out... My old 06 duramax wouldn't start a number of years ago, and I was stuck at my moms in a very isolated VA town... After trying everything I could in town, out of desperation, I went online and found some website where professionals in all walks of life/ professions can go to earn money answering questions from people like me. An hour after posting a brief explanation my problem a "master certified" GM mechanic got back to me saying to get a wire and connect it between a frame bolt and the heat sync of the computer module... something that is 10,000% something that would ever come to mind of myself or even the average mechanic.... seemed random, but I tried it and holy S#$t, it worked immediately.... The website had an option to donate to him, so I sent him $100... both to motivate him to keep doing what he was doing, and to inspire more people to share their knowledge. He had no idea how much he saved me (though I'm sure the $100 clued him in!)... you're the man... kept your cool, but most importantly persisted!!! good on you!
So bummed you missed stuff you wanted to do. But what an awesome human YOU are for sharing while this was going on. This whole trip would have had me giving up. Cheers Tim!
That guy driving you would be a major hit on You Tube. He needs to start a channel as he is full of personality. Just love his energy. You are great and I just subscribed to watch all your videos Sheila Vancouver BC
Timmy I am honestly sick for you. It's a bummer having to keep tearing the engine apart and replacing parts that are not the problem. You are handling it all so great, and that's the best way to do it. You will get it fixed soon one way or another. You have some great friends. Keep us informed, hoping all gets repaired very soon🙏🌟😎
Tim you need to publish your music with a Company like ASCAP if they are original songs you write and sing with band you stand to make royalty fees for writing and performing your songs... Blessings Timmy!
Dude those small town auto shops are so nice. My battery died in Fruita Colorado back in 2017 and on a Sunday morning they opened the shop and came in and switched it out for us. Through talking found out my husband was a mechanic, asked him for help with a few things like pushing other dead cars around the shop and stuff that takes a lot of muscle and then didn’t even charge us for labor. So nice of them.
Nice weather. be shitty having to do that in cold wet rain or snow. The bright side is, that it brings some dramatic content and suspense that many can relate to and bring in more subs. This is real life stuff and can feel your pain.
This video just made me go check the socket in my 7.3's travel kit and sure enough it doesn't fit all the way. You're suffering on video just saved me the same problem some day lol. Side note, CNC Fab makes a 4 line fuel feed bowl delete setup that will open up a lot of room in that area and it makes a noticeable difference in starting, cold running, and even made my E99 idle quieter. Great simple upgrade for a stock or built 7.3 like mine. You will also have to add a filter back into the system obviously. I went with a FASS pump kit about 3 years ago and have had no issues so far. Absolutely sweet truck you have here, it's really motivated me to keep pushing progress on my camper shell build I'm doing with mine for extended fishing and hunting trips around the US.
Damn! I felt your pain when it wouldn’t start, I was on the edge of my seat! Well all ya can do is ride out this newest adventure, hope luck comes your way soon.
I’ve never donated money to a TH-camr before but I did tonight because I’ve watched many of your videos Timmy and I like your style. When you said you used to drive Samurais that really sealed the deal and won my heart! I have no doubts if roles were reversed that you’d be bending over backwards to help a friend in a similar situation. Safe travels and all the best brother, keep maintaining that vibe of yours
Timmy you are one hell of a guy Very handy and determined. I wonder if it’s the fuel pump. Wish good luck upon you. I know u are back here in AK but hope it all works out
I just stumbled across this one the very second I seen what you had in your hand I automatically knew what you were into. I've been a heavy truck mechanic for over 30 years and can say that I've done a few. I was going to say that if you ever need the socket to get at me and I will email it to you 😜 The Timmy I know has one in the glove box👍🇨🇦🔧. Thank you for sharing
Wow ! Just found your videos brings me back to the 70’s- 80’s living in crested butte & Gunnison grew up in Colorado 🎉 it’s cool to see the old town which has grown a lot. I saw all the greats as a teen at Red Rocks Fleetwood Mac / the Grateful Dead / beach boys / Bonnie Raitt etc etc . Sorry such a truck hassle . Thanks for taking everyone along ❤
PEOPLE THIS HAPPENED WEEKS AGO! Tim, calling on the four wheel drive community would have been a good thing to do early in this but you wouldn't have this epic content for us to watch. and the four wheel drive community would with out a doubt do what ever is necessary to get you to where you could get your rig fixed. we leave nobody behind and broken, and it always gets paid forward. and the views you had to suffer through all those days.....
Weeks ago or not, I know the drone footage at the halfway point after the event, shows three rigs remaining, one of them, his broken one. Thankfully not everyone had moved on. Tim is new to this and learning about the amazing Nomad community as he goes. You could tell by their surprise once they learned of the non-profit rescuers! A tough and very expensive lesson to learn, IMO.
Nooo, when you were turning it over with 3mins left in the video, I thought for sure you had it, heartbroken for you. It’s a shame to have to have such a magical view, forever ruined for you cause you had to look at it too long. And thanks for putting the really ugly part of Nomad life out there! A lot of the newbies don’t think about all that goes into these stunning moments and what goes on when shit goes wrong, out in the middle of nowhere. Shout out to all the people coming together to make this all happen for you because it really would have been a nightmare alone.

His positivity???? I always say how much he constantly complains for someone with such a "chill" life. Everything seems a hassle with him, I watch and feel better I don't have things so rough at my job.
@@Steve-dy1wf A chill life? From what I see the guy works his ass off to be able to live life the way he wants to live it (something I admire). I guess when you are always traveling and living in a truck you may be more prone to having issues then the average person but I don't think he constantly complains about it? If you lived in a truck, you would probably have just as many setbacks and you might even let it get you a bit down from time to time. Anyway, nobody is forcing you to watch if you find it so appalling.
You def handling it staying calm but stressed out like crazy. But hey your not alone. And out in the winter weather of Alaska. And just think you shouldn't have any issues for awhile if you changed out all them parts and a fuel pump for awhile.
Wow... I'm rootin' in hopes you make it to Red Rocks? Maybe? The place rocks! C.B. for it's burritos, hands down thee best. Love that joint. Pulling for ya Timmy, looking for you to be back in biz and on your way to R.R.!

Have you tried “the Quarter Trick” on your wiring harness?? Just throwing it out there. Sometimes the wiring harness comes apart or breaks and it it’ll cause a no start. Common 7.3 issue.
I pulled my friends f250 with artic fox camper all the way up the Baja to San Felipe before we could get it repaired with my 96 keep Cherokee. Average speed was 12 mph. It was hell but we made it. Everyone breaks down but I drive a Cummings they are a lot Easter to repair in the trail.

Sounds like relay inside the fuel injector unit quit. My converted school bus has 7.3L diesel engine which is the same engine used in Ford pickup truck. I replaced the fuel injector unit that was taken off from Ford Econoline van. After that, my bus fired up.
The fact that you continue to film and keep your cool is beyond me.. I would of flipped
