    This is a great add-on service for lawn care maitenance professionals.
    I suggested dog waste removal to all of my lawn care clients that had dogs. Surprisingly I got a few clients right away to add wkly removal.
    It was a no brainer for me. I was already at their property each week mowing so why not take care of the waste while I'm there.

      @@robertchavez7696 there are two options.
      1.) You can get a big dumpster from a place like Waste Management and dispose of all the waste there.
      2.) You can simply double bag the waste and place it in the customers trash can.
      We do option 1 in our Spokane location and Option 2 in Seattle.

    One of my friends did this in the Phoenix area for years and retired from it. He also carried a "freeze" spray for the runny stuff. He made so much money and living in Phoenix, didn't have to deal with snow. I also made good money and had 8 people working with me in Ohio as a Pet Sitting Company (going to people's homes) which had a start up of around $500 which includes business license and insurance and poop bags. Such great businesses. I also retired from mine. I had my ad on my back window on our cars (didn't cost as much as a full ad all over vehicle. ) Both businesses don't have "overhead" unless you want an office. All can be done from your home.

      @@charlesborel8493I’m not sure what you are asking but yes, I started this business broke at 55 yrs old after a divorce because no one would hire my age. (Truth). Someone asked me to pet sit in their home and they would pay me. I looked into it and realized it was good money. My company had sitters that visited 3 x a day for dogs, other animals depended on what they needed. I even had someone who just did cats for 4 hrs in middle of day (she also had another job). I also hired people for either mornings, afternoon or evening. They didn’t do all 3. They basic worked 3-4 hrs a day some weekends. We would do overnights for certain pets and medical pets also. I started doing all on my own. Hired 4 months into it. Grew it to a large, 6 figure income business. It pays well. BUT, it is a profession where you are dealing with live animals. You cannot skip a day you have to have a backup in case of illness or hospital stays. I wanted a business with integrity and professionalism. The gentleman who now has it makes a great 6 figure income. It is also a physical job. We averaged 48 pet sits a day. Yes, a day. I had $50 to my name when I started it. I borrowed from someone to get my biz license and insurance. I didn’t ever pay for advertising. I made a free webpage , learned SEO from a library book and got to the top of google search. Also I did find a petsit biz book with a cd that had contracts, info etc. papers for clients to fill out. I took pet cpr at the Red Cross back then. Now you can do it online. I treated it as a business, NOT a hobby. Yes, it’s possible. Also, I loved it and cried when I had to retire due to Multiple Sclerosis.

    When I clean someone’s house I take the garbage out of their bins inside and I put it in the trash dumpster outside their house. To expect me to take all of their garbage home as part of my service would be insane. It would just need to be stated prior that the poop would go into their garbage dumpster. Period. The poop would never go with you.

      We have been domestic cleaners longer than I care to remember. It’s a passion, no holidays, we guarantee their service even if we have to reschedule. They guarantee our business even when they go away on holidays. We service a niche clientele who can afford to be maintained on our roster. We found prior to becoming selective that clients who went away wanted to save money by not having their clean. That’s fair enough but I refused to hold their placement on our schedule if they cancelled their cleans due to holidays. If they expected us to clean for them and remain on our schedule, they also needed to commit to us too. It works both ways. We have never advertised, only word of mouth. $60per hour. Min 4 hours per clean. We’ve never looked back since introducing the changes to our policy.

    I worked for a company called Doo Doo Squad located in Elk Grove California. It's not all as it cooks up to be. There is lots of driving involved which equals maintenance on the vehicle. I recommend using the Toyota Prius. It will save on gas by switching to electric. I used to service 30 to 40 houses a day. It might seem easy but it's not. Especially on hot summer days and rainy days.

      It’s all about route density and proper route management. A Prius isn’t a good choice though, the back of the pickup will be full by days end, you gonna drive around with 20 large bags of dog $hit in the back seat on a hot summers day? It would be impossible to keep employees.

    There will always be people willing to pay for a service that they just don't want to do themselves. I bet they don't walk their dogs either so this could easily be a 2 person business. 1 x scooping & 1 x walking. Don't forget the dog food delivery option. You'll need refrigeration for the meat loaf and room for bags or barrels of dry food. A dog food manufacturer will pay well to have a vehicle with their branding visiting dog owners all day. You could negotiate a supply deal where you can make big retail margin on selling their product. Expand the business web site to sell additional dog related products. Then there's the vet referrals earning a kickback that could also be expanded to include dog transport. Now scoop that poop!

    As a service contractor of 40 plus years who builds client bases in a ten mile radius of the shop what I heard was: One tech can manage 150 homes, or 30 yards per day. This translates to 16 min per yard including travel. 8 min as claimed to do a yard fits with my huge back yard and two dogs, but only 8 min of travel between jobs would mean they are all in the same neighborhood, on the same block, or real close. I understand client density but this seems very best case, and rushing like that leads to accidents in the field or driving.
    Excellent presentation regardless, and this guys systems are solid and the golden key.

      ***Edit*** I just figured out why our landfill cares. All our residential trash gets dumped at a transfer station first, where actual people sort through it for metal large enough to identify. It is then loaded on larger trucks before being taken to the actual dump. So yeah, ours cares so people don't have to handle it.

Instead, consider going for something more passive like ETFs or REITs which can be more manageable and rewarding with less time commitment. You can even use an FA for that allowing for minimal effort while keeping your it relatively safe. This approach worked for me and I now make about 12k a month,. I plan to still own a business but much later when I'm ready to retire. Good luck!

    $110 per month seems steep, i guess for upper middle class / wealthy people, with multiple dogs, it could be worth it. Why wouldnt conventional cleaners or garden maintenance services be better? Struggling to see the gap here. Love the business though, id really enjoy telling people i pick up dog shit for a job, giving them some time to judge me, and then follow up by saying i make 2.4mill per year.

    At about 17 minute mark, he suggested posting in groups. Isn't posting to groups considered spam? How would you do that without getting banned for spamming? Like, if I starting going to every TH-cam video and started posting my business name and website, I would probably get flagged for spam.

    What about Mean Dangerous Dogs? I would think that would be a problem too

    You would need about 80 weekly customers to make $200k a year but that’s still pretty damn good. That’s at the $110 monthly rate

    A couple of questions; How do you dispose of the waste bags? Have your techs ever been attacked by a dog? Would you consider a franchise in southern California?

    Only one ? Where can you dispose of bags of dog waste and what does that cost to get rid of?

    • @StevenPorter84
      @StevenPorter84 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Great question! Many companies have designated waste disposal processes, often taking it to local landfills or composting facilities. Some might even explore environmentally friendly options, like converting it into fertilizer.

    Great video, lots of good questions and answers, which simplifies an already simple business even more.
    This business owner really knows his stuff. I wish I had an idea like this - very straightforward, easy to start, easy to scale, risk-free, and not time-consuming. That's how you create a comfortable, quality life for your family while also helping others solve a problem.

    Thanks again for such a great interview. Daughter has been asking how can she make extra money, after listening it gave me a great idea we live in a subdivision which has 540 homes, I’m thinking of all those golden “nuggets” she could be earning cash on. Thank you guys again, keep up the hard work, really appreciate your content!

    If you were to start a landscaping (basic mowing + wacking) along with this service, could you take say all your doo and your grass clippings to the local landfill? is it all considered landfill waste? or would you have to go to separate locations?

    • @UpFlip
      @UpFlip  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      That's a great question! Disposal rules vary by location, but many landfills accept both yard waste and animal waste, though some may require them to be separated. It’s worth checking with your local landfill to see if they have special guidelines or composting programs for organic materials.

    It’s fine and dandy if you do it within your own neighborhood like maybe 5 blocks out from each end of where you live cuz gas ain’t cheap

    I didn’t get to finish the video, but I was hoping to see where all the poop goes and if that’s something that can be sold to companies who deal with compost and mulch, or something along those lines.

    • @UpFlip

      Companies are looking for sustainable sources of organic material, so there might be potential there!

    I'd definitely have that bag storage box at dog parks and beaches. Everyone will use it and free advertising apart from paying for bag's and refilling time.
