At my Church we are making small felt stockings to fill with gifts for women in hospital over Christmas. My star dies are invaluable for making embellishments, they cut so beautifully through felt! Thanks for an inspiring collection of ideas for simple yet striking cards. I think the Christmas tree is my favourite!
How wonderful Maggie, the stockings sound perfect! I also love using dies to cut felt, but I usually add them to a card, I don't stray too far from papercraft lol. I'm so happy you liked the tree, that is my fave too!
OMGoodness listen to those kookaburras in the background when you’re making the candy canes. They are so funny. I really enjoy videos, thank you for sharing.
just found your channel and what I really like is that you sound like you are smiling all the way through! simple designs are usually the most effective, thank you xxx
Thank you so very much! A huge welcome, and I hope you find more videos to enjoy. Let me know if you have any questions or ideas that you'd like me to share. Crafty hugs Therese
How wonderful, thank you! And I'm so happy to hear you are joining the Summit they are always so much fun. My presentation is on Day 1, I look forward to seeing you there!
Such a clever use of shape dies to create beautiful Christmas cards. Thank you. My favorite was the present. Such a simple design but really beautiful.
Fantastic tutorial Therese, what a wonderful set of cards, so clever. All of them have your signature graphic style but the use of the retro colours paired with them perfectly and lift them to another level. All are fabulous but the tree card really spoke to me! Thank you for sharing as always. ❤😘
I don't think I can pick a favorite because they are all so pretty. You have a way of making all of your cards look so elegant. I like that you give alternative suggestions throughout your videos on how to get a similar effect if we don't have the supplies you are using. I really enjoy all of your videos.
Therese, you had me mesmerized the whole time! I can't get over your ingenuity when it came to build that candy cane - particularly those curved stripes! You're so clever! LOve them all! And I needed some new design ideas - thanks, my friend! =]
All of the cards are great! Thank you for giving us additional ideas on what we can make with shape dies or with scissors and a ruler. I love the retro colors!!
What a wonderful tutorial. I would have never thought to use nested shapes or partial cuts to do cards. I really liked all of your cards. Thank you so much. I just heard your request for my favorite. I really liked them all, but the present with the red box top, was my favorite.
I love love love the retro colours and designs that suit a summer Christmas, especially the tree. While you were using the arches, I had an inspiration to use them to create a dalek for my Dr Who friends.
THANK YOU! this was a phenomenal video!! So "basic" but Advanced!!! Thank you!!! I'll be using many of these ideas!!!! Love the stenciled gift and candycane!!
Great cards! By using the same colors on each card, it could be a gift set! Fun colors! Guess all we older folks remember fondly those vintage card colors. I just bought some nested star dies. I am going to try that first card you made. Thanks for all your inspiration.
So glad you enjoyed them Sandra, and a HUGE Welcome to you, I hope you enjoy more inpsiration here and don't hesitate to reach out if you have any questions or ideas for videos!
What a fun video. I love your same by different videos. Had never thought about using triangle nesting dies, now I think I need some. Thanxs for the many fun ideas. Also interesting how a little bit of this and that really ups the look.
I love-love-love the red "present" card. It seems to be a perfect Christmas card that's also quite easy. I admire your ingenuity and creativity, but I really do not care for the "retro" look of the other cards-- just my personal preference. I plan to use some of your ideas, but with more traditional holiday colors. I'm very intrigued by the stars, too. Thanks for all your hard work!
Definitely enjoyed these designs and am going to copy them in a future craft project. I like working with shapes in different ways and getting more use out of the dies and your cards gave me just the inspiration I needed! Plus your retro colors were way cool! Thank you!
I'm so happy you enjoyed these cards, they really were such fun to make! It's also fun to try out different colour combos for Christmas cards, so I am glad you liked them too!
Wow! I love every card you made. I'm surprised cause I have lots of the shape dies and have not even thought to use them that way. Now I can. Thank you. Awesome video for sure!
Totally amazing... I love the artic stencil present. But the one I was in awe of was the Candy Cane. My jaw dropped as you put it together. I do have a question though- how do you cut a circle in half? Mine always seem lopsided. I just love your Christmas series.... Oh what fun!
Thank you so much Valda! That's a hard one, especially if you want the 'perfect' half of a circle, so typically I don't get the perfect half but will just try and get it close enough using my paper trimmer. You could try laying the circle on a grid mat and use a pencil to mark where the centre is using the grid lines, I've done that before and it works pretty well. Hope this may work for you too. Crafty hugs Tx
@@lostinpaper Sorry I missed your session on Friday for the Stress Free Christmas...I was too ill to keep up... but it looks like his video, so I am going to try later.
Hello there. Im newish to cardmaking and I love watching you videos... I just love the elegant simplicity of these basic shape designs... Could you please let me know what the L shaped right angle guide is that you use to place your mat layer? Thank you and keep up the fabulous creativity.
I'm so happy you are enjoying card making, I think that it is a little addictive lol. This tool is from an Australian store called Auzz Trinklets n Crafts and you can find it here atcraft.com.au/products/atk-perfect-align-tool-set I also have a video sharing more information right here. And from memory there are links in the description below for a similar product from Amazon in the USA (although I cannot vouch for the quality of this particular one) th-cam.com/video/YaKBbHmrBgY/w-d-xo.html Let me know if you have any further questons, crafty hugs, Therese

Really enjoying your videos. I have a QUESTION. What was the tool you used in the bottom corner of your Misti to evenly place your top panel to your card base leaving an even border? It was ‘L’ shaped. I looked but didn’t see it listed nor did anyone else ask about it that I noticed. Thanks.
Hi Tamara, it's called the Perfect Align tool and it's from Auzz Trinklets (in Australia), I have a video promoting it here (and I think there may be links from others in the description below for a similar item from US Amazon, though I cannot vouch for the quality) th-cam.com/video/YaKBbHmrBgY/w-d-xo.htmlsi=Tn24nRDzZ2nmFuWO Hope this helps, have a fun and crafty day, Therese
This is a tool set that I have from Auzz Trinklets N Krafts in Australia called the 'Perfect Align' You can watch my video on it right here. She now sells both the Imperial and Metric version of the tool. But apparently there is also a similar version available in the US on Amazon (which I think someone linked in the chat below the video) but I cannot vouch for the quality of that, but it may be worth a try if you are really struggling. These tools work best with nesting rectangle dies, but I also explain in the video how you can use it without. th-cam.com/video/YaKBbHmrBgY/w-d-xo.htmlsi=c7lpSHZCYJshqhnz ps another trick to get perfect alignment is to use liquid glue instead (just don't use too much), this gives you time to shift the panel for a couple of seconds until you are happy with the result. Hope this helps, Crafty hugs Therese
