I’m going to be totally honest here. You ask what is our favorite thing about this video……. I absolutely love just how relaxing you sound when explaining anything. It’s been 2 years and 3-1/2 weeks since I’ve really crafted. My husband would sit at the kitchen table and just watch and help pick his favorite colors and just almost get so involved with the crafts. Lost him just over 2 years ago and it just hurts so much to even try to start up again. However, I did make thank you cards for everyone that pitched in on donating since his death was so unexpected. So Jennifer, it’s all about your voice for me. It really helps me to reminisce my memories of him and I crafting together ❤
I’m so sorry for your loss. I agree with the above person, someday you will get your crafty mojo as Jennifer calls it back. Maybe craft somewhere besides where you did it with him? Prayers to you.
I love seeing Jennifer! 😊 But seriously, I think my favorite part was her reminder that you are doing this to make someone smile and feel loved. Perfection is not required for that.
I could listen to Jennifer all day long - she always, always inspires me, and I so enjoy listening to her talk about her process, her craft room, how she makes her cards - really, I just love listening to her. I've been following her for years and years and never get tired of her videos.
It has really helped me to just cut card bases when I’m feeling sad or anxious…I get such a sense of accomplishment ! Then I may ( or may not) try making a batch of sentiments….then I start thinking about friends and family who would smile if they got a card from me in the mail…card making is a lifeline.
THank you Jennifer. This presentation was RIGHT ON TIME!!!!!! Every message I needed to hear. Your generosity and inspiring is a blessing, a great blessing.
I appreciate the reminders that this is supposed to be fun, not to put too much pressure on ourselves, and each card doesn't have to be completely new. There are a lot of oldies but goodies techniques out there that we shouldn't forget.
I loved all of the hints but I think my favorite was to have fun while you are crafting. Jennifer's videos are one of my favorites to watch while I am in my craft room. Thank you Jennifer for everything you do. You're great!
I love your honesty and humbleness. Your experience and demonstraighting is like having you hold our hands. As a daughter of an engineer, you are a 'blob of oil on the cog of life.' When I see a new post, from you, it's a great day. Thank you, Jennifer. Xx
I really enjoyed watching and hearing all the tips and tricks that have evolved over the years for Jennifer. I love her card making and appreciate so much she has given to anyone who wants to learn. To me she is a blessing to the crafting community. She gives so much of herself I think she must be an art angel on this earth. Thank you for this tribute to Jennifer and I loved it. I never tire of hearing Jennifer' s words. pat
Cardmaking is supposed to be Fun! That is my favorite reminder from Jennifer. Crafting is not supposed to be a competition nor stressful, so relax and focus on what you love to do. well said Jennifer
I love how the main thing she always repeats is that you have to have fun, crafting is supposed to make you happy and to remember that its also supposed to make other people happy, so you have to send the cards. Its the joy she always transmits when she does the videos, joy in your crafting and joy that you sent to others. So important to remember this.
Always enjoy watching Jennifer create and the reminder that people enjoy our creations - no matter if simple or very involved. It's truly the fact that someone is thinking of them.
My favorite part of the video is the reference to everyone’s journey is at a different place & enjoy the process not perfection. Honestly the comments & how encouraging others are to commenters. 💜 seeing @jennifermcguireink getting more comfortable with lives.
Jennifer has such a soothing voice. I could listen to her all day. But my favorite thing about this video...how all of these videos were compiled from other videos to make one big list. I love that. Everything in one place. Plus, having Jennifer's lovely voice on these videos is also a plus! Thank you all so very much for this inspirational video. It really helps when your mojo is playing tricks on you or your creativity is taking a vacation! LOL 😁🥰
Jennifer is just so sweet! I love her tutorials and advice! I loved seeing those bags filled with all those die-cuts! So many pretty floral images! Made me laugh out loud!
I love how calm and collected she was. I have taken some over her advice to work on backgrounds or sentiments or die cut or color when I am not feeling the creative composition piece. It is all great advice!
Jennifer: You are always an inspiration. I always keep your reminder about the recipient in mind--they won't care that I stamped an image to watercolor, e.g. I want to share my friend's idea: She was hesitant to throw my cards away even though she can reuse them because I use your idea of the Post-it paper inside the card. Instead, she keeps them in a box and her granddaughters take them apart and use them to create their own projects. Thanks for ALL you do!
I can’t pick just one part, she has so much wisdom in 10 minutes here! Great advice for a novice crafter or someone seasoned. Thanks for putting this together. And it reminded me I still have a class of hers from one of your retreats that I need to finish!
I love watch Jennifer, her videos are what made me take the plunge into the world of card making. I love her advise about not worrying about the card being perfect. I worry over every tiny dot! I have to learn to love my perfectly imperfect cards!😂
My favorite tip is to have die cut sentiments ready to go. Or even just stamped/heat embossed and to do that when youre not feeling all that creative. I need to do that and do it often! Thx for all the tips!❤ And thank you Altenew as well!❤
Jennifer McGuire is the best! She has so many wonderful tips and advice! One of my favorite things she said was "remember that it's supposed to be fun"; such a good reminder while crafting :)
I have enjoyed this video bcz, Jennifer is very relatable and keeps her guidance real always. She has been in the field long enough that I trust her honesty and joy in creating cards. She celebrates all the steps and really thinks of keeping things approachable to all types of budgets. I really admire her and would love to spend a day with her.
I just love listening to Jennifer - the whole video long! Who needs ASMR (is that what it‘s called?!😂) or a favourite part? Thank you for sharing this!
I really enjoyed the part in the beginning about not having to be perfect with your card nor does it have to everything on it. I'm a bit of a perfectionist when making cards for people. I am always worried that they won't like it. It was good to have that reminder as well from Jennifer, that a hand made card will bring a smile to their face.
Jennifer has the most calm, soothing voice. When I'm stressed and have no creativity, i find one of her youtube videos to watch. I do like all of her tips, but especially #7, 3 important things when i am creating a card.
I really like the part where Jennifer shows that she die cuts things ahead of time. I do that with sentiments, so I almost always can go to my sentiment file and find something that fits. It’s a real time saver!
To pick my favorite thing about this video .. This is a tough choice. Besides listening to Jennifer talk and explain so beautifully, I would say the reminder creating cards should be fun and to enjoy it. Sometimes, creating things doesn't always go the way you see it in your head, which could lead to frustration. Then to remember why you are doing this, besides (for me it is) charging my batteries, would bring the fun and joy back into your creation. Thank you, Jennifer, this is a great reminder :)
As Jennifer made the comment about not needing to be perfect, I thought about cards I have made for specific people and how I hoped it would make them feel good. To visualize a smile when they open it warms my heart I do tend to like to do a lot of the same thing and then finalize later so it’s fun to watch Jennifer as I think we think similarly. It was fun to see all the ideas of over a period of time and I’m sure I will watch it again. Thank you.
I love watching Jennifer. She give the best advise. My favorite advise this time was to take your time and have fun making cards and to share them with others.
Thank you, Jennifer. Great advice. You are so talented. You really know how to give a special touch to your cards to make it more beautiful. I wish I'm able to keep following you. Some crafters started creating their paid membership groups. I followed many crafters and couldn't be able to pay for all of them. I do appreciate all your hard work.😊❤
My favorite advice is to remember the card’s purpose. Don’t get so stuck on having to be perfect. I’m also a fan of involving family in holiday cards. My daughter helped make a card last holiday season when she was home from college ❤
I loved the whole video, especially the reminder to play more - just have fun . I love her storage pouches of zero waste flower dies. I have a few cut out but now sorted well so they don't get used.
I love everything Jennifer McGuire. I started watching her TH-cam videos several years ago and wouldn't miss a one. She shares such creative techniques. I have definitely expanded my card making ability thank to Jennifer.
Favorite thing is remembering that the card is for someone. Hopefully someone you love/appreciate/love. So trying to tailor it a bit to what you know about them goes a long way. That is why I like altenew, because some of my favorite people adore flowers. ❤
I like that Jennifer reminded us to think about who we are making the card for, think of them during the process and be sure to actually send the cards....it really makes peoples's days when they realize how much tought you put into the card, for them.🙂
My favorite part was Jennifer telling us to play & figure out what we like to do best- and focus on that! Jennifer always has amazing inspiration, tips & tricks- and is an incredible teacher & mentor-truly one of the goats!
There was so much good advice and loads of tips in this video. I liked hearing Jennifer talk about the evolution of style and figuring out what works for you as a crafter.
I love Jennifer's advice on taking the time to just play and to revisit techniques you love rather than ALWAYS trying to reinvent yourself. I do that a lot and it slows the creative process!
Hello Jennifer, I have watched for years, and you never disappoint. I agree this crafting is supposed to be fun, and relaxing, it is art and there is no wrong way to do something. Try new things!
"To experiment and learn, but figure out what you ENJOY doing" is the best advice. So funny what I was just thinking of Jennifer and an online class I took from her many years ago! I haven't been paper crafting for a long time, but am beginning to pick it up again.
I learned that making the card the size I feel comfortable with is what helps because I am horrible at number and even though the score board or cutter have them listed, I ca never get them wrong and get super discouraged. I am a horrible stamper too, I practice but I decided that I will use die cuts as my sentiments. Using others cards as inspiration and not try to copy it as shown. Jennifer always inspires me, she makes things look so easy and she explains things where she gives me confidence
I loved the golden tips from Jennifer regarding recreating your own old cards when we loose our creative mojo… its so true…. Lately I am in my craft room unsure of where to start and what to make. And if I don't create anything,,, I end up with increased stress level. I am going to follow ur advice Jennifer. Thank you! 😊
I really liked the advice of figuring what you love and concentrating on that. Sometimes, you want to try to do it all, but doing one thing is the way to go.
Wonderful video! I enjoy tailoring a card with the recipient's favorite things in mind and I love that Jennifer said to choose the techniques that I enjoy to make that card.
Favorite part for me was the storage bags from Altenew to put completed die cut pieces in. Love the way she described them too. Definitely would buy these for my craft room!
My favorite part of this video is , just simply hearing Jennifer's great crafty advice , because that makes me want to get my stuff out and start making cards . Thanks Jennifer & Altenew for getting my mind to work 🙂
My favorite part was just seeing Jennifer consistently encourage through the years. One thing she says often is to do what you love and don't feel guilty about not doing something else. Basically, find your niche and do it for the joy of doing it.
My motto each day is to do something I love each day. That is going to my happy place in my studio making cards. It changes your soul. You will help you to be a happier and calmer person. Besides that now you have made cards that will also bring a smile to someone else.
Thank you so much for the advice. I have been feeling overwhelmed and trying to find my style in card making. I just need to relax, practice, and discover what I love doing.
I think that the best advise from Jennifer in the video was not to worry about doing things perfectly or making a perfect card. I've always been a perfectionist and I have even more trouble since my accident.
Well, "send those cards" hit home. Am listening to paying attention to sending those out. Yes, it took me hours to make and sometimes, I "save" them. LOL!! They eventually get sent but may stay with me a little too long. Great tips from the phenomenal Jennifer!!
Patience is my favorite. I’ve accumulated a bunch of stuff this year - more than I’ve used, for sure - and want to be able to do it all. Taking time to learn and having patience with myself when it doesn’t go as planned is my goal for 2025.
What a brilliant idea to put together a compilation of her seasoned advice!! I think it would be absolutely amazing to put into one from all the people who have been touched so positively by Jennifer. I think they would need several stadiums…….
I’m going to be totally honest here. You ask what is our favorite thing about this video……. I absolutely love just how relaxing you sound when explaining anything. I just would like to send you a big virtual hug. What you are going through is so hard. One day you will craft again. ❤
I’m so sorry for your loss. I agree with the above person, someday you will get your crafty mojo as Jennifer calls it back. Maybe craft somewhere besides where you did it with him? Prayers to you.
So sorry for your loss I also lost my son and cannot craft anymore I will be giving my stuff away and I have alot hugs to you
@@judycowles9768 That’s so sad. I wish for you to heal & rekindle your crafting & find your joy knowing how much he loved watching you create! 💖
I love seeing Jennifer! 😊 But seriously, I think my favorite part was her reminder that you are doing this to make someone smile and feel loved. Perfection is not required for that.
xoxo
I love how passionate and calm Jennifer is - I really feel like I can and will do the project. She is the GOAT for a reason
Let go of the pressure to do something new! YES! I needed this reminder. Thank you, Jennifer!
I loved the banter here: J: "I have issues" Voice from off: "You have passion".
Excellent video from my queen of crafters!
I could listen to Jennifer all day long - she always, always inspires me, and I so enjoy listening to her talk about her process, her craft room, how she makes her cards - really, I just love listening to her. I've been following her for years and years and never get tired of her videos.
My favorite part is her tip of creating a lot of greetings and keeping them handy. I also like how she keeps reminding us to mail those cards.
It has really helped me to just cut card bases when I’m feeling sad or anxious…I get such a sense of accomplishment ! Then I may ( or may not) try making a batch of sentiments….then I start thinking about friends and family who would smile if they got a card from me in the mail…card making is a lifeline.

Love Jennifer! Lots of great tips. My favorite is to remember to just enjoy it and it doesn’t need to be perfect to make someone smile.
My favorite part was seeing all those big bags of die cuts! Go Jennifer! You are ready to make a card for any occasion in no time flat!
I think the best part of the video was the unabashed joy Jennifer has in creating and helping others to create. Also, zero waste dies - Who knew!?!
Always enjoy watching Jennifer create and the reminder that people enjoy our creations - no matter if simple or very involved. It's truly the fact that someone is thinking of them.
The reminder to create sentiments when my mojo has gone missing is so impactful!
My favorite part of the video is the reference to everyone’s journey is at a different place & enjoy the process not perfection. Honestly the comments & how encouraging others are to commenters. 💜 seeing @jennifermcguireink getting more comfortable with lives.

I love all of Jennifer's video.
The tip to remember the purpose of the card and it doesn't have to be perfect stood out to me.
I enjoyed Jennifer talking about all the different aspects of crafting 😊😊

All great tips! My favorite two are preparing sentiments in bulk and not always feeling the need to try new techniques; to just enjoy one you love!
I can’t pick just one part, she has so much wisdom in 10 minutes here! Great advice for a novice crafter or someone seasoned. Thanks for putting this together. And it reminded me I still have a class of hers from one of your retreats that I need to finish!
Whatever you’re making will make the person you’re giving it to is made to make them smile!!

I love your down to earth approach to crafting! We all consider you an expert but you are honest about how and when you struggle with inspiration!

ALTeNEW is an absolutely, hands down, bar none my FAVORITE inks, flower designs and die cutting & assembling designers!
I enjoyed the validation the Jennifer provides to this hobby.
Any advice from Jennifer is my favorite part ... She's so real, creative, talented and joyful 🥰. She earned the GOAT title!

Love seeing Jennifer just talk to crafters! But what I lived the most was the word RELAX !!!... and shot with about the card being perfect. 😘
Great video. I especially appreciate the reminder that you’re doing this to make someone smile, it doesn’t have to be perfect.
Favorite part for me was the storage bags from Altenew to put completed die cut pieces in. Love the way she described them too. Definitely would buy these for my craft room!

I love anything Jennifer shares. She has such a gift and we are so lucky to be able to learn from her!
I wish there was a ♥️ love button for this video instead of just a like button. Wonderful! My favorite hint …. Coffee!! 😃
thanks!
I think that the best advise from Jennifer in the video was not to worry about doing things perfectly or making a perfect card. I've always been a perfectionist and I have even more trouble since my accident.
yes!
I loved her list of three things to bring to retreat, especially readers and coffee!! I'd pack the same things with my blending brushes lol
Well, "send those cards" hit home. Am listening to paying attention to sending those out. Yes, it took me hours to make and sometimes, I "save" them. LOL!! They eventually get sent but may stay with me a little too long. Great tips from the phenomenal Jennifer!!
I appreciate the support that Altanew offers and it is always a pleasure to listen to Jennifer .
