    This is my favorite type of video, tied with your Christmas Same But Different series. This is a style in which you excel, and I don’t see many other artists doing this. So, yes, please, more videos like this one.
    No, I didn’t see the foiling coming, although I should have! I guessed paper piecing…
    Thanks Therese, you are amazing, and so are your cards!

    I'm a pattern paper hoarder too. The scraps seem to just multiply lol. This video was just what I needed today and I'd love to see more using scraps please Therese. I couldn't possibly pick a favourite. I had no idea you could foil some pattern papers.

    Loved this video and would love to see more like it! I have so much patterned paper (it’s my weakness) and, therefore, so many scraps. As for a favourite card, it’s a toss up between the leaves and the hexagons, but they are all great! You should make some cards with the colours of your top, it’s so pretty. Thanks Therese from foggy Alberta!

    • @lostinpaper

      Thanks so much for letting me know Tammy! I am very 'fussy' about which pattern paper I buy now, but it is so luring, sometimes I just can't help myself lol.

      Ooo thank you. I’d love to hear how you decide what to keep when you have lots of scraps. Do you cut down to shape or just toss them all in and pick them out as needed. What is the smallest size you will keep? Thanks again. I will be looking out!

    Love all these! I got some great ideas today watching this video. Just one question - what kinds of paper are able to be foiled??

    • @lostinpaper
      @lostinpaper  11 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Hi Sarah, so glad you enjoyed this video. Foiling with a laminator works with cardstock that has a 'toner' portion for the foil to adhere to (then you can use the left over portion to refoil on toner sheets). But you can also foil on regular cardstock too. I have a video here which shares some different ideas, hope it helps th-cam.com/video/6yYWTDJMHp4/w-d-xo.htmlsi=oxsr6_2dlscgDnyo Let me know if you have any further questions. Crafty hugs Therese

    Oh wow! SO MUCH inspiration in this video, as in all of your others, of course! But, I am a paper “collector”. It sounds so much better than hoarder, doesn’t it? And, I love to keep my scraps, and I love to actually use them! You just filled my brain with so many ideas! I am looking for quick cards, as I am about to begin making 100 Cards for Cubs, a nonprofit organization in Arlington, TX. There are 350,000 foster children in the US. The average age is 8 years old. The handmade cards are collected by Cards for Cubs, and then boxed and sent to case workers and caregivers, so they can write personal notes inside, and give to the kids in foster care. They are only asking for birthday and cards of encouragement. Last year I made 50, but this year, I want to make 100. So, I am thinking cards with 3 to 5 strips on them, with a sentiment on a tag on top. Not sure. All the cards can be the same. Last year, I made two different kind, to make my 50. They collected 45,000 cards last year. This is only about the third year they’ve done this. And only my second year. Thanks so much!

    • @lostinpaper
      @lostinpaper  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      What a brilliant cause!! And 100 cards, what a great way to use your paper 'collection' lol. Strips of paper are perfect for scraps too as often they have been cut off the edge for our A2 designs, so you probably have as many as I do. I know you are going to enjoy this process as well as the fun of 'replenishing' your stash afterwards (wink)!

    these cards are all so creative and fun, but I think my favorite was the name cut out out of pattern paper and the stamped back-round.. What a fun idea, can’t wait to give it a try….would be a dream holiday card too….I’m thinking a printed paper MERRY and lovely Christmas stamps or snowflakes to finish the back-round 15:11 . Thank you so much for the inspiration!

    These are beautiful designs, lovely!
    I enjoyed seeing scrap ideas. Your cards look different than other scrap cards I have seen. Very original. I would like to see more of these.
    I usually don’t have scrap pieces of patterned paper left over. I end up using all of one or two designs from a pack per project. I have a lot of colored cardstock scraps, but these I cut to a US A2 card front or folded card base size or smaller, and keep them in clear pockets lined up in a rainbow color order in a bin. I use these for when I am making 5-6 cards or less. My usual project is 10-15 cards of one design, all using same or similar colored card stock. I like to use colored cardstock in the card base as well as focal card front. So I have many. I am just getting into ink blending. But it seems to take a lot of time. I have stopped buying so much colored cardstock, but it will take many years to run out. :-).

    • @lostinpaper
      @lostinpaper  ปีที่แล้ว

      I'm so very happy that you enjoyed these cards! Though it sounds like you already know how to smash your scraps, and your rainbow storage sounds divine. I am also trying to use my stash and even after my big cull of 2022, I could stamp all year long and still be finding new/old products. Beware of ink blending though.... it is a little bit addictive lol.

    All nice cards! I love crunching my scraps into diecuts. And I have some rather small dies. I mean tiny! I'm chasing after scrap pieces that others have long tossed from their large word or cover dies.
    Yes, I love seeing how others use their cardstock and printed paper stash. I also enjoy using hexagons, leaves, evergreen branches, birds and trees.

      Yay! It's a game changer for sure, I use the Waffle Flower A2 dies with mine but you can cut the panels to size with a trimmer, or many other brands of layering rectangles will work. I just tested out which size dies were perfect for the align tool sizes and leave them (as cheat sheets) in the packet. I have a video sharing how I use the tool and you can find that here th-cam.com/video/YaKBbHmrBgY/w-d-xo.html

    Love them all! Excellent idea for the scraps. I tend to forget to look beyond the patterned paper. I see the entire piece and think "nah, that pattern is too big." But now I'm just going to go for it and remind myself that it's going to look great and really it's necessary to see the whole pattern on a small die cut. Thanks for the reminder of that!
    Really love listening to your voice as well. It's totally calming and very melodic.

    Yes I loved this m! Using things you have! All the craft companies have gone up on their price break on postage for ordering which makes it harder to get new craft supplies.😊

      I agree, it's great to be able to look at the supplies we have and be able to stretch them with techniques. I hope you have fun with these ideas, Crafty hugs Tx
      ps we have the same problem with postage in Australia, recently many companies just couldn't send regular post our way. So the only option was parcel service which just couldn't be justified for a 'hobby'. Luckily I have a bit of a stash and some beautiful supportive companies who generously support my addiction. I do hope things improve for us all soon x

    Thank you for the tips about the fun foam-mine never lines up with my die cuts well, I’ll have to keep them in the foam and add the die cuts then remove the whole piece-brilliant!

    • @lostinpaper
      @lostinpaper  ปีที่แล้ว

      If you have a manual die cutting machine I find that this technique works better as it doesn't seem to put as much pressure on the foam. I also don't wait for the glue to fully dry as sometimes if I've put too much it can leave a crusty edge. Hope this helps, Crafty hugs Tx

    Hi Therese, I have a tip for laying down paper with adhesive on the back. Instead of trying to line up the exposed adhesive, I fold down the release paper up to 2" on one end and then line up the other end on card. Once lined up, press down on exposed adhesive and then you can pull away the rest of the release paper. Hope you had a great holiday.
