Yeah. Its actually one of his physical therapy exercises, weve been doing it with just luring, and i thought, why not teach fancy obedience? Its such a great fitness exercise! :) You should give it a try! And at least get a stand on a couch hehe as a result. :)
I will give it a try. My two can do it with lures, but staying in a stand and doing it on a verbal queue only is what we need to work on. So basically this is a perfect video for us. 🤣
Yeah for some dogs! Cloud seems to have got it pretty easy, some dogs dont get when they are up they can stay in the same position lol. its like they arent even conscious they are moving toward something lol
This is such a helpful video, I am LOVING your content! Thank you! May I please ask how you manage these kind of exercises with dogs that are very inpatient? I have a patterdale terrier pup, she gets very frustrated quickly when she is learning something new, she will grumble and bark and struggles to keep still. She has nailed stay, but we really struggle with duration stay for most all commands. Shall I just keep building it up a tiny bit at a time? Are there any tips for helping inpatient dogs? I’m guessing it’s also an age thing for this breed, she is 5m.
I do have a member video on that, but basically I feed a last treat and say they did a good job, and then take them out to the bathroom, or change the picture so they arent just hanging around. You could let them lick the treat container if its empty etc
Hi, I am a brand new viewer. I relate to your style of training with clicker. I have seen quite a few neighbors with big dogs in my area of Lake Tahoe - Reno . We have tons of country wide open spaces & cold climate with less insects& fleas. But , they almost always have never been properly introduced to the step by step sequence clicker training. Of which both owner & dog can greatly benefit from. Almost all owners I spoke with over the years still have not heard of the helpfulness of clicker training. The clicker steps must be exactly the same steps everytime .Or doggie becomes baffled of confused due to the differences of their brain processor. Thank you for returning to your darling dog training show! I found you just in a nick of time! Boy,can I tell some Dog stories! I will use your channel as a referral to get the dog owners I meet in my area on board with clicker training. Good luck & prosperity to your business in 2022! What is cloud for you? Bliss is obviously your service dog, Halo and Wish seem like your athletic trick dogs, and cloud is? He's so adorable it's hard for me to see him as anything but a pet. Of course they all want a job. 🤓 And if course they are all family members. 😍
Oh hehe, well I LOVE having small dogs that are friendly with small children and dogs, I love small dogs too. I wanted a friend for epic that would be gentle and sweet with her, but also another little dog for interacting with kids and young puppies. Honestly I got them to bring joy to my life and the life of others and teach other dogs that little dogs are lovely. :) Kiko used to be my amazing with all people and small children dogs.
I love this. Perfectly done! ❤️💕
Great tips! Cloud is so adorable with his down ❤
What a cute dog
This is a nice little game.
I think you teach 'leave it'
as a form of delayed reinforcement.
Thank you for this!!!! My SD has been trained by me and I have struggled with properly communicating this to my dog! High paw! 🐾
Yeah it can be a tricky one! Putting a toy in front too for toy driven dogs helps too
Love your style Emily.
Thanks!!!
Great tips! And I love your hair.
Thanks!
The stand is so hard, thank you for the tips!

Would you consider making a video about finishing the session?
How do you progress to not interacting with a dog without frustrating him?
I do have a member video on that, but basically I feed a last treat and say they did a good job, and then take them out to the bathroom, or change the picture so they arent just hanging around. You could let them lick the treat container if its empty etc
@@kikopup Thank you! I'll try find my own finishing routine.
Thanks for all the tips. I want to start backwards around me!
Can I ask what treat pouch you have there? I need a new/ good one 🤗

Awe thanks! And happy training!
Wow so fast. Impressive. I wonder if it's too late for my 9 year old mutt.
Dogs can learn tricks at older ages (even blind/deaf ones) just make sure it ends on a positive note
Have you taught this one?

@@kikopup Aww. That's super. ❤️ Thank you for sharing.
How did you initially showed him not to grab from the floor?
search for "leave it" on her channel, she already has a tutorial on it. :)
thanks
My dog stays great until I take steps backwards. He follows me
