  • Get more power on your two-handed backhand with this video tip from OTI Instructor Nadim Naser
In order to hit your 2-handed backhand with lots of power you need to have a complete unit turn.
One of the most common problems we see on the two-handed backhand is not executing the unit turn properly.
This is devastating for your two-hander and in this this video tip from OTI Instructor Nadim Naser he explains what you need to focus on to get maximum power on that two-handed backhand.

Good point, in-out swing pattern and body following through with pivot on lead leg also important for weight on this stroke from what I've seen.

+Dennis G - Thanks Dennis and yes there are more aspects to the two hander. I just try to focus on one major technical element at a time

Thank you so much for this!
I couldn't get any power on my backhand like I used to. I watched your video last weekend and realized my takeback was stopping at my hips.
I played last night and made sure I turned my shoulders more and took my racquet back further. My beautiful backhand is back! I'm finally putting some zip on the ball. Just like old times!

I think too many coaches make out the left hand creates all the power and this results in incomplete shoulder turn. Nalbandian is clear his power comes from the right, left gives the control.

trunk hip rotation timed as one with the arm movement
instead of an isolated arm action like a baseball player
