Nice job. Watching this is as relaxing as kicking back with a glass of wine! Sometimes it's important to watch others doing work, even though doing work itself is strangely therapeutic - if not always calming!
It's coming together, more rust work than I imagined after the first walk around you showed last year. My that engine bay is a bugger. I feel better seeing you doing the job correctly and clearing and maintaining those forgotten drain holes cannot imagine how good you feel. I am rooting for you to get a break on the double patches. Keep up the great videos.
Thanks Mark. Once the engine bay is in Primer it will be a good day. That isn't to far away. Once I'm done on these little fiddly patches I'll start on the Radiator surround. Thanks again for your comments and interest. Cheers John🍻
Not yet Geoff. I've set myself sections to complete before I go further. Right now it's engine bay, front Subframe and rear axle. The Winter is round the corner and I want to break the back of the Welding work. At some point I'm going to make up and engine test stand, do a compression test and see what we have. The previous owner told me last time it was in the shop it showed very good compression. But I need to check for myself. I want it running outside the car and then I'll decide what should be done. Cheers John.
@@mercedesmaintenance.6339 I hope everything keeps going well on this car, it would be wonderful to see it on the road again. You obviously have experience/common sense when it comes to fixing cars. Best wishes.
Rust is weight reduction, natures answer to age for performance enhancement :-) You seem to be touching every aspect of the car. It'll be better than new once you're 99% done.

Good work as always John !
Wow, fantastic work! It seems to that you have great knowledge of those Mercedes. You are a true artist. 👍👏👏👏🏆🤩
You have tremendous patience. Lots of material in this car to test it out
Yes there is:) Thank you. John.
Always a pleasure to see your work.
Thank you, much appreciated. John.

While you are doing this rust repair, is anyone working on the engine?

This channel makes me better understand why people buy donor cars for parts. I think my last W108 met that fate, hopefully for a W109.
The donor w108 I have has been a gold mine for sure. Cheers John.
