I have a 2014 ram 1500 hemi express. I did a muffler and mid pipe delete, and put the bank shorty headers on. Before the headers, I felt like the truck was very loud and deep and throaty, and after putting them on it quieted down the truck significantly, which was and still is disappointing. It's quieter most likely because one (or both) of your cast iron exhaust manifolds had a leak. They're prone to warping which causes the bolts to snap when they warp too much. You were probably getting some noise through the side of the manifolds before. Same if you noticed some ticking on a cold start up.

BBK sent replacements headers and then fast forward 4 months same thing happened on the same side. BBK hasn't replied to my multiple emails and videos of the leak. I have a combination of extensions and swivels to get the center upper bolts off. Huge PIA. People complain about my labor rate at first, then they attempt them themselves and either don't complete it or end up quth leaks and want me to fix it. I still charge the same price anyways lol.
