    After six years I'm 30% in March 40% in April 70% in May and migraines and depression and IBS are supposed to be finished by the end of this month. Hopefully I'll be 100% by the end of this month. If not then I will need to hire you folks.

    I'm in a situation right now where I believe I need to quit my job to save my mental health and well being. I have PTSD and suffering from severe depression and anxiety. I believe my current job (environment, deadlines, job culture) etc is the source of my stress and depression levels. My performance has suffered greatly, I can't concentrate long enough to complete tasks and I believe that I'm probably going to be fired soon, if I don't quit first. Actually, I don't know what to do. I recently disclosed my condition to my employer (HR) and they were very understanding and supportive. However, I know I can not continue to under perform and be absent to attend my weekly VA appointments with my Psychologist.

      @Sam Houston, We encourage you to file a claim with VA if you believe that an issue caused by military service is inhibiting your ability to work. Veterans Service Organizations (VSOs), such as our colleagues at the Disabled American Veterans (DAV), assist veterans filing claims for free if you need it. They can be reached at (859) 441-7300. We wish you the best of luck!

      Ms. Scott STFU, idiot! The person said that they want to get their mental health in order. Doing so with the VA requires a lot of appointments. If they are service connected with mental health issues, TDIU would help immensely. Your advice is ignorant, and doesn’t help.

Signed up with the local VSO late august and they have been almost no help so I’ve tried to educate myself in the process. Thank you again! This video opened my eyes about TDIU... Can a Vet write his own lay statement and would it have legitimacy too it? I'm 70% for PTSD and tinnitus. I have had well over 200 jobs since being discharged in 1975. Most of them very short-lived due to my issues. I've never been able to develop or maintain any kind of friendship, so not feasible to obtain statements from others. And thank you so much for these sessions.

      @BarryBedellas, although we cannot speak on the specifics of your case, generally speaking, if a veteran has one service-connected disability rated at least 60 percent disabling; OR
      The veteran has more than one service-connected disability, with one condition rated at least 40 percent, and a combined rating of at least 70 percent they may be eligible for TDIU. For more information, our blog may be able to help you. cck-law.com/individual-unemployability-tdiu/

I told him I was still having increased pain since the surgery and he said it's not his problem. He worded in my record, "pt is cleared with no new symptoms " ,which is a lie, I had to seek other hospital system and neurosurgeon for second opinion and it us determined that I have bulging disc impinging on the nerve and will have to have pain management before surgery. I lost my job as a paramedic and I had filed for Temp disability and was denied due to the wording. Now I have filed for IU and still waiting for the decision. I have one quick question.
    You use the term service-connected disability a few times, and I was curious if secondary conditions are also considered service connected even if they're on a secondary basis.

    When applying for SSDI after A Veteran has been awarded TDIU, will personal finances like bank accounts be scrutinized or taken into account by social security when determining eligibility?

      You need at least 70% payable overall to get VA TDIU. It can be combination of multiple claims.

      A surviving child of the veteran may be eligible to receive DIC benefits provided they meet VA’s criteria. Check out our blog about DIC benefits here!: cck-law.com/blog/va-survivors-benefits-qualify/

    Is there an age limit when applying? Can you be too old? Thank you.. .. next concern is not having decades of compiled work and medical history.. .. When one is 65 and has moved many many times because of the depression and other issues, homelessness etc. Records are scarce.

    • @CCK_Law
      @CCK_Law  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @twist-of-faith, thank you for reaching out. Age may not be considered as a factor in evaluating service-connected disability; and unemployability, in service-connected claims.

      They know the rules and hope you don't. You can't play their game if you don't know the rules. I see where a person can have PTSD and they won't tell you for for 14 years.

    To the lawyer in the middle:
    Please, please be a little more conscious about your pronouns. 😌 As a female veteran, hearing you say “he/him/his” almost every time you refer to the veteran, is offensive. 😏
    Maybe “they/their”, “she or he”, or simply “the veteran”. 🙂
