It took me a long time to accept i need to be on Suboxone for life, but once i did, i felt like heavy load off my shoulders n can just live my life like a normal human being.
You should look up the side effects, long-term like potential liver damage, heart, problems, teeth rotting in your mouth mouth. And I’m only covering the tip of the iceberg.
@@aritina8379 I already have IGA NEPHROPATHY (Since 97) and stage 3 kidney failure. But yea my teeth are all jacked up , I was homeless last 3 months of 2021 n didn't take care of them but never realized the subs are wearing down my teeth too. Ty
Thankyou for helping Educate people who do not understand suboxone... We as recovering addicts go thru enough judgement, We do not need it from other addicts. Take it slow yall. Get on a stable dose & Build your recovery foundation. If you shot dope for 10 yrs, you can not expect to be sober Over night. It takes time. Recovery comes from within. You can be completely sober from all substances & have No recovery at all. Addiction & dependence are 2 very different things!
Exactly! I'm 76 severe chronic pain plus limited mobility due to a prior concussion. In day 5 of getting off opioids now using very small pieces of box...like 6 PC's per strip. It helps SOME for pain, but I am still DEPENDENT on SOMETHING for pain. Putting up with it so far.
Suboxone was the best thing that ever happened to me. Almost 5 years clean and I have a life, a life where I don't steal or lie daily. I will always be thankful for what it has done for me. 💞
Finally a video I can relate to. I just started 8 mg suboxone two days ago and my cravings immediately disappeared, I have more motivation for life, things interest me again and I am excited for long term recovery. I was always scared of long term effects or having to get off it in the future but right now I will just stay focused on my recovery. If I have to take it for life so be it. I've spent 20 years chasing drugs and ruining my life, it sucks that society has injected these fears into our minds. The AA community is also very one sided when it comes to recovery. If you are not fully abstinent they look at you like an outsider. It's definitely an ideology that can be dangerous for people in early recovery. That shame and guilt keeps people prisoners of an idea.
I’ve been on it for 10 months. My stomach isn’t the same and stool is thin and have to take miralax daily. I’m starting to taper so I can be fully off of everything. It’s served it’s purpose and allowed me to think about why the pills were my focus for so long, but now it’s time to get off.
@Max Smith I went from 8mg to 4mg for a week then 2 mg for a week, 1 mg for 3 days and 1/2 mg for 2 days, first 4 nights slept about 4-5 hrs. High dose vitamin c helped alot also magnesium at night and a ton of water. Physical fitness also helped me even if it was just forcing myself to do push ups.
Suboxone gave me my life back. I hate to admit how overwhelmed with cravings and urges I was poisoned with. It changed the narrative from me being an addict NEEDING TO USE, to I'm sick and this medicine helps me live a comfortable life again.
Be careful with your teeth I have lost all of mine . I have been on Suboxone for 20 years. I had good oral hygiene don’t let them tell you it dose not bother your teeth my wife as well we are both on it and both lost our teeth
I was on subs 3 years. I am currently up at the crack of dawn because I quit taking them about 10 days ago with no taper. Why. Because I don’t know how to taper. I’m an ex junkie.
I did them for 10 years. No joke. I had to do 30 days in jail and was completely broke. It took me forever to get my body right. It still effects me. It's no joke. Don't take it anymore. Try in whatever way u can to get rid of it. It just about killed me and made me want to kill myself. Good luck and it does serve a purpose but the cure can't be worse than the disease. I understand the addiction and subs make it right but stop taking subs and it's insane. God bless
It’s now been 32 days. I’m done with them. Still not sleeping well and completely exhausted right now but I’m not looking back. I’m getting my life and freedom back after many years.
I've been taking Suboxone for 8 years. I think I recently accepted being a lifer. This drug has saved my quality of life 100 fold. No way I would go back to that life.
Started with subx squirted under tounge 13 years ago. Then to suboxone. No sex drive, 10+ years, need oral sergery on gums. I would wake up sick and shit once a week. Cant get support from NA, AA. Day 25, over the hill but never been through withdrawl like this before. I dont believe there is enough research on the effects of long term 10+ years of treatment. Tough spot. I thank suboxone for saving my life, but I am seeing it does not provide the quality of life I want for myself at this point in my addition.❤ thanks for video. I think people need to know there is a routine for stopping withdrawl and the long term 10+ year effects of the suboxone on the body.
Yeah it definetely isnt like a wonder pill that cures everyones addiction. Everybody is different and everybody has to find the right medication/treatment for themselves👍 I hope youre still doing good on your journey through life🙂 and if you are on a low point in your life (again) then stay strong, there will always come better days!
I have been on suboxone for a long time and it has done more good than bad for me. It saved my life and I don’t use fentanyl anymore and have no desire to use any illegal drugs. I am not in and out of rehabs anymore. I am living a comfortable life now. So I have much respect for this doctor.
Sounds more like a great way to capitalize drug users... I thought the point of rehab and detox is to help the patient rid themselves of their dependency to any drug whether its legal or illegal...
I started this drug in 2006. It saved my life. I took it for 16 years and raised a family, paid my house off, and 25 years of marriage. I tapered off in November and now I'm FREE. So yeah, it was worth it.
@@rickp3753 for some people it’s worth it. Depending where they were before they started Suboxone. But for some people, Suboxone is a nightmare. They cannot get off it. It causes heart issues and liver damage. It can make you lose your teeth, it can make you poop once a week and the constipation is wreaking havoc in your intestines. It’s not for everyone but they’re making it seem like it should be. I wonder why. Could it be the pharmaceutical companies pushing this drug like they were pushing OxyContin in the early 2000s or in the 90s? 10 years from now they’re going to realize this drug is not as safe as they said it would be. And they’re gonna have another huge problem on their hands. F the western medical community! I’m so jaded after getting diagnosed with an autoimmune and getting no relief from western medicine. I finally found relief in TCM (traditional Chinese medicine).
I was a heroin addict for 23 years April last year I went onto buprenorphine for the first time I started on 16 mgs and I'm doing a reduction along with CBT therapy relapse prevention emotional regulation meditation lots of things I'm now on 2mg but taking it slow n steady I've been clean from heroin and street valium for a year now I lost my partner to a morphine n etizalame overdose in Dec I now work in addiction love and learn so much from you Dr B thanks Jx
So, I'm on Suboxone and don't want to be on it long term because I still wake up every day feeling like I'm dope sick until I take it. It's an uncomfortable feeling that reminds me too much of bad days, of addiction, of desperation and frustration and helplessness. I hate that I have to take it to feel okay BECAUSE of my addiction. I also hate that it's something that people are so willing to steal and sell, meaning if mine gets stolen I'm forced back into that hideous sickness without any reprieve unless I have the money to replace it out of pocket. I hate that my actions have made me dependent on it but that I don't HAVE to be dependent on it, and I hate that I have to be careful to have extra on my person in case I can't go home, but not ALL of it in case it gets lost or stolen. These are my problems with Suboxone. Not that I necessarily think of it as a crutch, but that the very act of using it is so deeply embedded within the addiction community still and feels so much like the worst parts of my addiction.
I absolutely agree with everything you’d said! My in-laws spend over 50k on a rehab in Malibu . They did a short term suboxone taper and I was there for 2 months then a sober living g for another 2 months and did amazing for the time being. The moment I got back to my state (AR ) after 5 months cleaned I relapsed. That was in 2016. And I struggled with my addiction til nov. of 2019 when I found your channel and entered into an mat program. You have saved my life and my families thank you so much!
it is trading one for another. Its definitely better than dope, and for some people taking subs forever works, but it is completely justified to not want to be on subs. Why live like that? not to mention all the jobs that drug test... its better to just get ENTIRELY clean. day 7 CT no subs EDIT - over one month no suboxone, almost one year no fentanyl/heroin.
How did you get off Suboxone. I've had no option but to go cold turkey, there is no stock in South Africa. I'm really battling. Was never an addiction, my dr prescribed 2mg per day for my Trigeminal Neuralgia.
I just found Dr. B today just want to say his patients are very lucky he is very intelligent and easy-going addiction doctor that really thinks it’s a disease I haven’t found one of them in several years going through my addiction
“Going into detox and recovery and using Suboxone for a short term doesn’t help your addiction to Opiates” what are you saying? Are you an addict? Have you ever been addicted to heroin. I feel it’s ok to use it for short time along with therapy and program. Not sure why anyone would want to be dependent on this for years. Is not necessary
@@Selicular remain calm? What’s your goal, is it to remain dependent on a substance for a so-called chemical imbalance that is not even real. Doctors will sell you anything. You’re going to be out of whack for a while, if you need this for an extremely brief. Assist with being fully absent that’s fine. This guy is suggesting permanent use, which is wacko.
I now this is about suboxone but i was on heroin an metherdone for over 33 years iv bin on suboxon aswell but i can honestly say bean on a script saved my life im now over 2 years clean i trewly wish everyone whos tryin to get clean it can be doune an trust me ones you get clean an get your life back its so werth it
i was prescribed suboxone after a battle with heroin addiction. i found myself homeless and lost. i was on MAT for 10.5 years and i moved from NY to Oregon for employment and i found myself in a world of hurt. I tapered myself after finding out my Dr wasnt able to prescriber suboxone outside of NY. i went through HELL! Withdrawls were so bad, worse than heroin withdrawl.... , even at the low dose i was tapering off of, here i am 2 yrs later and i struggle with major depression, drug dreams constantly, sadness, , Theres days I dont even want to get up out of bed or even shower for that matter. im still struggling with the mental chaos, I was doing well on suboxone, now while Im still not using opiates, what can I do to make myself feel better ? i cant go on feeling depressed and sad.
I’m 23 and I’ve been on fentanyl for the last 3 years. I started suboxone on a taper while still using for about 2 weeks then completely quit and am just taking suboxone I am now just over a month clean from fentanyl. I haven’t needed to take more than a quarter of one of the two 8 milligram pills I’m prescribed. they have one hundred percent been what’s helped me beat fentanyl. I do not like the idea of relying on medication to feel alright and I intend on getting clean from all chemicals except pot but for now I’m on a longterm taper.
I need help. I live in South Africa and cannot get Suboxone anywhere. So I've been off fir a solid week. I'm battling. Going through terrible withdrawal symptoms. I'm not an addict, Mr Dr put me on for my Trigeminal Neuralgia. What so I do? Can anyone help please.
Agree with all you guys that after over 20 years of using, with all the colorful bells and whistles that come with that ride, 8 mgs Suboxone daily has given me a life worth living. 5 years in it still works perfectly. Never have cravings. Like never. I've had maybe a handful of using dreams but none that followed me out of bed. I will say I've lost some weight and muscle mass and some back pain and general inflammation but that maybe that I'm 52? Even still I'll take that over living in the bushes covered in lice and tics, robbing, begging, stealing, etc. Thank you Covenant Community Care on Michigan Ave in Detroit for saving my life and thank you Gloria, Dr Patti, and Dr G and all the beautiful people that make up that program!!! So grateful! Strength and Love!
I've been on for over 10 years i'm been wrestling with doing a taper. I do physical labor for work. I'm going to try starting this week I've been on 8mg pretty nervous about withdrawl.
@@chuckybful at first the taper really isn’t bad, I was on 8mg for a few years and just taper down 2mg but the lower you get the slower you go down, for example I went from 8mg to 6mg to 4mg and then from 4mg I went down to 3mg and then 2mg. I usually wait at least a month or two before going down again. I used to do it much faster and it backfired

H Henry Nice - what are your credentials Behind your recommendations? I ask because you sound completely dismissive of a large group of people who were in pain management and in spite of following drs orders, developed a tolerance and hyper analgesia because of traditional opioids. People who have no drug abuse history or history of addiction. Traditional opiates simply stopped working due to tolerance. What is your expert opinion regarding these patients? We are still in chronic pain. What do u suggest?
i feel like soboxone is a very good medication it saved my life but I am struggling with coming off i want to come off I don't want it to control me no more
I am living my best life your right thanx I understand now I'm good I'm a healthcare provider I have a bank account I'm good but I've been on it for 10 years and I've tried to taper I got sooooooo sick I felt baddddd
Here’s what the doctor is basically saying, Suboxone is replacing one opioid for another. It does nothing to stop addiction. It just may be a safer alternative to buying street drugs. I agree with him there. But, isn’t the goal to get off opioids? Not to replace one opioid for another. I wish I could give an better solution, but I can’t. The addict has to want to quit and he or she has to go through withdrawals to get the body to reset. Now, I think instead of replacing one opioid for another, we should try to find more comfortable ways to go through the 7 to 10 days of pure hell from withdrawals. There could be some effective ways to combat the withdrawal phase. But you can’t withdraw if you’re replacing one opioid for another. Suboxone may be a cleaner way to deal with so many of the negative effects of street drugs but it still is an opioid. Like the doctor said, the body can’t distinguish one opioid from another. Most junkies want to quit. They hate all the negative effects of what the opioid abuse does. However, their biggest problem is getting through the pain of opioid withdrawal. The comparison of using insulin for a diabetic or blood thinners for heart issues to opioid usage does hold water, with all due respect. People use the insulin and blood thinners to survive. You don’t need opioids to survive. The body has to reset and the only way for the body took reset itself is by withdrawing completely. Let’s examine ways to making withdrawing less severe for the addict so they can really have a chance to succeed.
You didn’t listen at all, did you??!?! It is not trading one for the other! Obviously you have not ever been an addict so plz refrain from giving a bunch of addicts(not f*cling junkies) advice on what you think we should do! Stay in your own lane!
The suboxone treatment isn't curing the addict. The person just gets hooked on another opioid to fill the receptors in the brain. The body needs to cleanse itself of receiving opioids in order for the reset to take place. It's painful but it's the only way to reset the body from years of abuse. Right around a week after no opioids are received, the body starts to sense there are no more opioids coming in to latch onto the opioid receptors and the body, being the great self-cleansing machine that it is, only then, the body starts to gradually make trace amounts of its own chemicals to balance the body's feelings of well-being. Once the reset takes place, you no longer have to be a slave to receiving another fix, whether it be suboxone, heroin or any other opioid. The goal is to free your body. It's not an easy road. It's about 10 days of hell but you can't do it by changing one opioid for another. You'll have to live the rest of your life on it. As far as the terminology or title of the addict, I didn't mean to hurt your feelings. But the best terminology an addict can want to have is, recovered and staying clean! There is nothing funny about addiction. It's a painful road. I had a family member that overdosed from heroin and died. I also know after physically getting cleaned up, comes the psychological phase of addiction. I don't at all mean to trivialize this disease.
Suboxone a medication to get your life back. Unless you have a way to change your mind ,habits, coping mechanisms your going to need something long term.
I've been on suboxone since July 15, 2019. I was addicted to H/F and oxy's. I literally could not stop. I begged God to let me die because I was out if control. I'm so glad I am on this "medication", and even though I did drop from 12mg to 8mg, I don't plan to completely stop, anytime soon. I need to get into better good habits, because I still deal with / have depression issues. I'm working on getting my life straight, and only then will I even think about stopping suboxone. Thank you doctor for your expertise and concerns for human life.
Hello J F, My son was recently put on Suboxone to help with the withdraw of taking opioids for the last 18 years. He is taking Suboxone film 3 times a day. My concern is he has fallen into such deep depression that it worries me a lot. He tells me that he is struggling because of the amount of Clanasapham he currently takes vs what he use to take. Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated. Thank you
@@Baby1961-i5e hi Sandra. Please let your son know that he is not alone. Also congrats on not using any more! Depression affects ALL people who stop using opioids. It's because the opioid created dopamine so our bodies stopped creating it. When you stop opioids, it takes a loooong time to get back to "normal". I have had to change my depression medication 3 times since I stopped using! I was addicted to oxys and H, for 6 years, and although it hasn't even been a full year, and I am still battling this depression. It's normal and it sucks, but it beats the alternative! Hope that helps? Please tell me your son's name so I can pray specifically for him, as well as you.

I was a vagrant addict, now I'm a productive member of society and an advocate for recovery! I'm a much better person every day! ty dr b
I’m on 4 mg a day now. I’ve been on 16 mg for 5 years and I’ve worked down to this over a years time. This is when it’s getting tougher so I’m gonna just stay here for a while
A lot of ppl don’t realize ppl who abused opiates already typically suffer from depression/anxiety etc. now there are even fringe studies showing that suboxone can potentially help ppl with treatment resistant depression (ppl who never used opiates). So imagine ppl who did abuse opiates, if anything they may really need it. Bc they have a prewired disposition for opiates. Even if they stay clean off everything they will probably have to struggle with way harsher mood swings and depression and possibly relapse.
what I can not understand and maybe you will not agree with me but I feel that if you have found the right amount of Suboxone to take per day what suits you and you are comfortable with and your life and everything is working well why the hell stop or taper???? like why fix something if it is not broke??
Great question. I was on them for 16 years and just got tired of dealing with pharmacy and insurance and drug screens. I just felt that I didn't need it anymore. So I tapered 3 months ago and now I'm FREE.
I've been there with addiction.. I stayed on it for about a year in half. Like l started with three times a day to once a day.. Sorry I forget the mg but I know it tapered off to a low dose one a day. My addiction was pain pills & Suboxone worked for me.. I did it all on my own. Without health insurance!!! I had a job thank God & spent over two grand.. I have a great doctor. Doctor vist cost plus meds cost monthly,, it can be done. Each person is different, all I knew is I couldn't live with the risk of going to jail because I was buying other people's drugs, it a choice we all have to make We all know what's Right & what's Wrong. GOD Bless, this doctor is right!
I have a major fear of being addicted to suboxone, i have been on them for 3 weeks and its a wonderful medication. I will not allow myself to relapse, ive lost so much of my life, relationships, and even my teeth because of opiates ,which were prescribed for pain..my problem is that i still suffer with back pain from degenerative disk disease, arthritis, and neuropathy. Having headaches as side effect from suboxone. The taste of the subx makes me gag and nauseous. I dont plan on being on subx long term.im also a heart patient and on coumadin the rest of my life from having aortic valve replacement. This video has helped answer a lot of questions i had.thank you for sharing this info..youre easing anxiety and saving lives.
Cathy - I’m so sorry you’re dealing with all of this. I wish you only the best. No relapsing! You have people who care and would love to offer their time to you.
I wish you practice here where I am I’m a chronic pain management patient and I never get my pain medicine done right I keep telling them that they are not helping me but they don’t listen I either stop taking them or run out of the medicine before my appointment and now they are saying I am an addict and if no medicine in my system again next appointment I am done I don’t know what to do I had radioactive iodine treatment in March and have esophageal problems so I don’t keep stuff down very well they are trying to find me a gastroenterologist
Doctor B I jumped off opiods with suboxone 4 days ago with 16mg the first day to the full 32mg (tto much! No good!) And down to 16 on day 3, to only 6mg on day 4. I am reacting badly to suboxone and am terrified of being addicted. I have read consistently that I can be addicted after only 5 days, and that WD are worse than fenty or heroin. Can I jump off safely now, before getting hooked.
Did u stop the subs and not have to go through sub withdrawals. I'm taking it 13 days decreased the dose the last 5 days. I have read about short-term and the theory is u get over opiate detox and stop before suboxone dependence and sub withdrawals. I'm a little terrified I want to stop after tomorrow but worried about withdrawals. I'm a long time heavy opiate user and this seems to good to be true. I don't mind some mild withdrawals slight body achs not sleeping a few nights but I can't handle serious suboxone withdrawals like long term suboxone users get when they stop suddenly. Suboxone wd is he'll from what I hear.
@kkrollingskkrollings3173 i got down to next to nothing and jumped off. It wasn't fun but not bad. About the same as stopping norco. I feel okay but not yet back to 100%
@@KillmaisyIt's been two months since your last comment, how are you doing now. I am planning to start suboxone from tomorrow and stop everything once the withdrawal period is over.
Dr. I like you doctor. But to be honest nobody that has an experienced opioid withdrawal because it’s all the same thing at the end of the day I just can’t listen to them I came off of fentanyl with Suboxone I did the taper at the rehab center and then I shot they left me on two MG and then the day I left then I kept at two MG and it’s slowly went down to .25 and then I got off it was about 23 weeks after rehab and that’s how I came off and I know I didn’t even have any with drawls trust me you don’t want to take any type of opioid for long term it’s literally a miserable life you’re gonna always be worried about not being sick
I have a family member on Sunoxone . And I have a question that relates to a lot of people. How do people keep a JOB if they keep having to go to the DOCTOR every month. There employer is going to fire them if they keep missing work to go to the doctor. That’s why people want of these drugs so they live a normal live with out this crutch.
Nowadays there’s plenty of telehealth options you can meet your doctor over the phone and skip in person visits. Pick up your script anytime after work and call it a day. I’m actually paying $199 a month out of pocket and pay my meds with cash it’s less than like $30 I think and avoid even putting it on my insurance to minimize what they know about me and my health conditions so hopelessly they won’t raise rates.
Hello Dr. B. We just watched this video in my group session and it was very informative for all of us. I’m excited to say that now Maine has been shown what a real provider looks like and what they should be doing for their patients.
I always hate when someone says its trading one addiction for another. Now I take subutex because I had a bad reaction to suboxone and vivtrol. Do you know how common that is? My treatment doctor said he rarely has ever had patients but maybe 2 that had this issue so I had to be put on subutex ive currently been on it for 17 months and its changed my life I can finally live a normal life I was addicted to pain pills for 11 years due to a bad car accident and a doctor who gave them to me like candy for the first 5 years the last 6 years I got it off the street because the doctor who was giving them to me cut me off cold turkey didn't taper me down. Ive been doing outpatient for 17 months and have an amazing addiction doc and addiction counselor. I love all your educational videos!
If you take Ritalin, you can go from drug addiction to porn addiction; watch one pic or video of porn will suppress appetite and cravings for alcohol, drugs and food. Suboxone is for withdraw symptoms only
@Dr. B Addiction Recovery I am about to hit 3 years next month now! I have an awesome job now and so close to getting my life completely back on track. It's truly saved my life!
Thinking about buprenorphine for my mother. She has a long history of substance abuse. She's 68, needs a hip replacement badly and has severe pain. She takes Nsaids mostly.....her doctor will prescribe her a teeny amount of hydrocodone, seriously like 15 pills every few months.....and she lives for those prescriptions. Obsessed with them. She will wait until her doctor is out of the office to try to get a refill. Also she drinks as well. I'm nervous for when she gets her hip replacement....if she will milk the pain meds for her surgery for 6 months... I'm in a buprenorphine program myself she doesn't know lol. Not sure how to tell her about it.... I had a problem pretty bad with rx drugs....I used to feel guilty not giving her any when she would have killed for something probably
I really wish I had you as my physician when I was in California in recovery. I was in La Jolla Recovery Center and they were very against suboxone and therefore I relapsed.
Urgh.....Let me guess....Were they ''12 Steppers''? 12 steppers just get addicted to groups. They can be very snooty about M&B.....While smoking tobacco like mad and quaffing coffee. No shame in Methadone or Buprenorphine. Better that than relapsing onto heroin &c.
Ritalin is the solution for all addiction except porn addiction! Libido suppress appetite and cravings! Suboxone is for withdraw symptoms only. Do a video about suboxone use!
I have been on 10 percs for 15 years. I took my last one 7 days. My friend gave me one 8mg strip of subs and I took just a little piece when I started to get sick. I haven been sick yet.

I love your channel and tik Tok is where I initially scoped you out. Just got off a 10 year run on Suboxone. The past two years my body really started to shut down: whites of eyes turned yellow, skin turned ashen gray,, sense of humor gone, social isolation, confusion. All symptoms other people say came from long term use. I tapered slow the past 8 months and am at 0 now And so happy. My gf says I have my sparkle back. It’s good at first but not forever,
Love your videos, you helped me look at my recovery in a different way, instead of feeling guilty for being on Suboxone. I’m a veteran who suffers from ptsd and depression, and once my dr. Introduced me to this medication I was able to finally stop the antidepressants, the benzodiazepines, the pain pills, and the clonodine. That may not work for everyone, and it was in fact my decision to get off all the other medications that Were having a negative impact on my life. The plan was to get off the suboxone as well but in fact that’s the only thing I take now!! Been off all the other meds for 4 years now, and have completely re invented my life. I switched from methadone 10 mil to 1 mil subs yesterday. The reason I switched is because I was told by the MAT doctor that subs don’t cause nerve damage like the methadone did. But now I’m getting the same tingling and numb feeling swelling on my toes feet and fingers. My primary doctor says it’s because of the opioids. Now I don’t wanna lose any part of my body using subs and I don’t wanna stay on it longer then I have to be. Any advice?

Thank you for this. After cycling through addiction since i wasn’t 15. I’m 34 now. After my kidneys almost failed, I’ve decided to go on suboxone terminally. My biggest issue is my faith. Does God view suboxone as bondage. Although i do still relapse occasionally on booze, they are not life threatening or putting me in a gutter.
It sounds to me like you are free from the bondage of addiction and you are taking medicine to continue to live in freedom. People of faith are not perfect and we fall; get back up and ask for forgiveness.

I was on kratom extracts a bit for energy for almost three months. I didn't do enough research before I started fooling with it. I decided I had had enough spending money on the crap and it turned against me - bad constipation and rebound anxiety; it also caused nausea. I have never had a problem with opiates/opioids. I have taken them for dental extractions and broken limbs, but I have never bought them on the street. I was put on Suboxone to get off the kratom. I think it might be indicated for a patient in this situation to be on a short-term taper and I don't want to be on this opioid long-term. Just a thought.
I honestly am over worrying about getting off it iv tried I always end up fucking mg whole life up I spend 2800 dollars in 2 months last time I’m Over it I don’t give a fuck what people think anymore fuck em
I have been clean from opiates for 16 years. I went to a thirty day IOP. They gave us one everyday of the program. I Never had heard of it before. I had very little withdrawl symtoms I never had seen it again. Now its a street drug and people are addicted thats crazy. I felt great at the end of my rehab and had no withdrawl symptoms at all?
I have a question. I been looking for this all over the internet and can't find an answer. I began subutex treatment 3 years ago. Everything has been great except for one thing. I get severe itching all over my body. I never had this problem before. I been to doctors and dermatologist and they can't figure out what is going on with me. This itch is so bad it really effects my quality of life. I went to see my primary doctor today and she believes it could be from the subutex I take. I don't know what to do. If anyone else has had this happen please let me know. I would appreciate any input. Thanks!
Right now I take around 20-30 mg of oxy every 4 hours. I went and got Suboxone to try to get off but after reading a lot of these comments it’s almost making me just go through the oxy withdrawal
A friend another friend is sheltering SAYS they are in treatment using suboxone for illicit fentanyl smoking addiction. All they do is sleep. Just as they did when they smoked illicit fentanyl. Not seeing any efforts to go to meetings or counseling or anything. Just sleeping.

Sounds like you need to increase your dose
That will pass! Give it more time.
I absolutely agree with everything you’d said! My in-laws spend over 50k on a rehab in Malibu .
I'm trying short term now I pray I suffer minimum withdrawal after 14 days of suboxone.

Because the chances that you go through those milder withdrawals with a 2 weeks long suboxone taper and remain clean after are extremely low.

This makes absolute sense….I am so tired of this trading one addiction for another crap…. Thank you for your scientific approach
Ok, long term, meaning the addict stays on suboxine, replacing one opioid for another. What's the point?

@@Baby1961-i5e hi Sandra. Please let your son know that he is not alone. Also congrats on not using any more! Depression affects ALL people who stop using opioids.
Gots to love on every topic . my come to place for recovery on line..
I feel okay but not yet back to 100%
@kkrollingskkrollings3173 I took 2 mg next to last day and then 1/2 mg last day. Keep up posted on your progress. You got this.
@@KillmaisyIt's been two months since your last comment, how are you doing now. I am planning to start suboxone from tomorrow and stop everything once the withdrawal period is over.
@limayaden8458 hi how did you get on?
3 years clean last appointment found a note... been shut down Goodluck. This is were this can get ruff
One of the good guys
I've been on bupe for 3 years. I've been clean for all of them. It's a miracle.
Very good. Keep at it!
Thanks for this video. This is very helpful.. Just found your channel and already love the new info.
Thankyou for being here
Your discussion is the most lucid and nuanced I have read/heard. Thank you
Whoaaaa how did u make the cup change colors?
lol
Thanks for explaining this 👍
Hello Dr.
You are a success story! Great Job!
I been on Suboxone for a 1 year at 12mg a day and it has helped me but now I feel so tired now and I don't know why?
I really wish I had you as my physician when I was in California in recovery. I was in La Jolla Recovery Center and they were very against suboxone and therefore I relapsed.
I'm sorry to hear that Wendy.
The best video on hear about this
You right sir I suffer from chronic pain for 10 years in my back n neck I got diabetes nerve damage n bulge disk desease now I'm disabled lost my job they put me on prescription opioid it help me a lot but it mess up my stomach I would like to tried something that will work for me I'm a long time chronic pain patient now my doctor close down n left me out of my med I'm suffering from this crazy back pain that sometime my whole body hurts n I can't move I be on bed all day suffering the doctor cut me out the last time I saw her is mess up I take insulin blood pressure pill mental health issue like panic attack I got this since 2008 before this crazy pain came to me on 2016 I walk up like this neuropathy in my feet n hand is crazy how my life change I found a new doctor I pray to God they help me n give me something better than prescription opioid I need it for life anything that work I don't want to get hight I want this chronic pain to go away that all I never use drugs in my life now I have to use drugs cus of my health problem I got
I switched from methadone to buprenorfin and I am miserable now. I've been on buprenorfin 20 mg for one year now. Can buprenorfin make you more depressed and anxious? I was so good on methadone
yes
On heroin from 2002-2009 since then 24 mg a day of. Subutex since 2009-2021,,, I have giving up the idea of quitting it.,, Body on opiates for 20 yrs with no exceptions... Scary. I'm 44 yrs old
I'm from the U.K. and we get buprenorphine on the NHS, for free if we are on low income so it is an amazing replacement for costly street drugs.
I am becoming stabilized on it and because of my age and long history of addiction would not mind if I had to take it for the rest of my life.
This medication has been miraculous for me and allowed me to regain a normal like life.
It’s good at first but not forever,
I agree.
By the way, you're an intelligent man and everything you're saying is on point.
Thank you for your inspiration and knowledge.
Really people can get off all these meds and off antidepressants with Suboxone??????
Wow I seriously start to believe buephinorphine is a miracle drug? So many attest to its literal one drug to fix all I'm being seriously any one else have insight
Bro I ❤ this Dr!!!!
Any advice?
What happens when you get hurt and need strong pain durgs?
I'm 11-12 days off suboxone it's been a little difficult I went from 8mg to quitting cold turkey. I'm not sure how much longer I'll have dts but I hope it goes away soon.
@SamanthaI'm on day 31 my lower body still has a little tingling and I feel like I need to pee a lot but that's it. I'm pretty good other than that honestly wish I would've tried sooner but I'm happy
@@Bran-don3 how are you now? I’ve been taking 8-24mgs a day for years now and I quit cold turkey and I’ve done it before whenever I went to prison. And it was much easier. I can’t sleep I can’t do anything. Don’t go to work because of it. How do I do this? I lost the mother of my child because of taking subutext.
@@charliebarrett9714 I'm great now! 5 months no issues it goes away brother. When it gets bad just hold something that means a lot and pray. I also found laying on the floor helped me

Thats the first thing i said about it. Want to get off it fast as possible. Im tramatized after jumping off a perk script after 12 years about medicine now. Thats where i was coming from..dnt want to ever be on something that i can get physically and or mentally addicted again..one heck of a nightmare ride
What an awesome explanation, Thank you!!
:-)
I just took myself off kratom with suboxone tapering down over a 6 day period staring at 3and tapering to 1. Nowim dependent on suboxone! I havent slept in days. This sucks
You are welcome. We are here to support you. If you want resources for free support give us a call 1800-779-4715
It sounds to me like you are free from the bondage of addiction and you are taking medicine to continue to live in freedom. People of faith are not perfect and we fall; get back up and ask for forgiveness.
@@brendareed5050 thank you Brenda! That means a lot!!
Can you use subs for a couple weeks to detox then stop them
That is what i am going to try
@@knowles4242 hopefully it will work every one said only do them for 5 days 4mg morning after you have a good withdrawals going 4mg before bed next day 6mg morning 6 at night then 3rd day 8 mg morning 6mg night 4th day same as 3rd an 5th 4mg morning 4mg night 6th day stop

@George Reynolds how did u make out your short term suboxone when u stopped the subs what were your symptoms how long they last. I'm doing short term 13 days today stopping tomorrow last number of days I tool less and less last 2 days I'm down to 1mg I'm praying I suffer minimum withdrawal I don't want to get stuck on subs and can't get off
@@knowles4242 did u try if so what did u think
I was on kratom extracts a bit for energy for almost three months. I didn't do enough research before I started fooling with it. I decided I had had enough spending money on the crap and it turned against me - bad constipation and rebound anxiety; it also caused nausea. I have never had a problem with opiates/opioids. I have taken them for dental extractions and broken limbs, but I have never bought them on the street. I was put on Suboxone to get off the kratom. I think it might be indicated for a patient in this situation to be on a short-term taper and I don't want to be on this opioid long-term. Just a thought.
Great video
I honestly am over worrying about getting off it iv tried I always end up fucking mg whole life up I spend 2800 dollars in 2 months last time I’m Over it I don’t give a fuck what people think anymore fuck em
What about purely for pain? In California, not a single doctor will treat pain. The DEA is practicing medicine without a license.
Well said
A friend another friend is sheltering SAYS they are in treatment using suboxone for illicit fentanyl smoking addiction. All they do is sleep. Just as they did when they smoked illicit fentanyl. Not seeing any efforts to go to meetings or counseling or anything. Just sleeping.
Been on 1 mg everyday at noon for 10 years. Steals your motivation and zest. I do .5 2xday now so it's not hammering my synapse n endings.
Only good thing it's done was keep me from doing anything which saves me money lol
