Miracle drug, straight amazing. Started using opiates in 2002 started using heroin in 2006, i quit 2019 not one relapse. My husband and I both quit with suboxone. I have a full time job, a home of my own i have a real life. Low dose of suboxone probably for the rest of my life. I'm ok with that it is much better than how I was living addicted to H.

Same with me and my husband . He was addicted to pills for a long time .
Finally got on subs . I started too when I was having issues with lortabs . He essentially said here trust me ,
This will help . And it has . We both don’t seek pain pills anymore . And we are stable and happy

I completely agree with this!!! 10 years clean here and I’m good with it. I had 4 years clean without subs once, and I relapsed. After that relapse I started the subs and now it’s been 10 since then. I have had more success all around, more promotions at work, making more money, and literally the life of my dreams way beyond than when I was 4 years without them. Not many people feel this way or talk about them like this, so I’m grateful to see another woman “good with it for life”…feeling a lot less alone 🙏 congratulations to you and hubs and keep on keepin on. 💞

If you don't wang to become a lifer, never ever take more than 2mg/day. Be on it as short of a time as possible.
I was over prescribed but still successfully got OFF of it. I went down to 0.00125/MG and STILL had horrible withdrawls. Thankfully I wanted to be off bad enough and I made it. But with Suboxone, unless you want to be a lifer, you better not take much at all, from the get go.

I wasnt getting high but it's either a risk to the baby or they aren't sure of the risk which is why they don't want to give it to pregnant women. Same with other meds. I'm just another addict in recovery & I believe that the buprenoephine is the cure, meaning that your disease is in remission AZ long as you keep taking the cure for it. What happens to a diabetic without insulin? The get a host of medical issues and possibly may lose limbs or worse. I'm a strong believer that no full fledged addict can live a worthwhile life without medication assisted treatment (MAT). I believe in this because I'm a 27 year I.V. user a whom now had collapsed veins from mainlining every half hour for more than a decade. Every one I know whom isn't dead is taking something akin to suboxone. EVERYONE. If your embarrassed by taking it you shouldn't be, I do not know your background but it's death out there n on very street corner are bags that will kill you for less than a dollar or two. Please understand that you are not the only one. Takingva medicine that puts this insidious disease in remission is a beautiful thing and it is no one's business but you and your doctors. If anyone asks it just not their business and you should keep putting one foot ahead of the other & recover as best as you can, the sky is the limit and soo much is possible when not using. Ixwish you strength, hope & open mindedness for luck has nothing to do in this life to death disease. Keep up the faith, n you are very lucky to not be homeless or in jail or dead. But there is only one way take the hole box and I’m close the doing just that. I can no longer control my terrible side effects.

Its so different nowadays with fentanyl withdrawals. Used to be 8mg was good enough with heroin. Now its like subs barely even work. I did the Bernese method to start and I'm up to 16mg a day and still have withdraw symptoms if I dont use some fentanyl throughout the day. Its crazy and all I want is to get off this shit!!

Its good for chronic pain patients that have already been on high doses of opiates for years. But I don't like seeing it prescribed to opiate naïve people. I just think more doctors need to understand the strength of the medication. Its 30x stronger than morphine 8mg is equal to 240mg morphine. This should be a guide line but its not.

I’ve been on this for a year and my relief worker wants me to think about coming off this medication. I’m so worried that it’s way too early and I feel it’s also too early. How do I tell my doctor I want to stay on this for at least another year? I’m doing ok but I do not think I’m strong enough to manage without this drug.

The therapeutic relationship is between you and your doctor, not the relief worker. Don't let outside influences sabotage part of your recovery-- it's yours, and not someone elses. Other peoples pressure about stopping MAT may not be fuelled by medical concern, but an ideological issue arising out of well-meaning ignorance. Does the relief worker have any particular insights as to why you need to think about coming off, especially if you feel this way? It's possible that their comments come from seeing you doing better over this year.
At the first signs of doing better, we don't usually encourage someone with depression to stop taking their anti-depressant. It's often acknowledged as the drug serving it's purpose in treating depression. We don't even tell someone with depression, after being on sertraline for 15 years, that a lack of major depressive episodes is evidence enough to stop taking it, either.
That same perspective and understanding isn't applied equally to MAT for any substance use disorder.

Been on subs since they were approved. I had been shooting since i was 15, so i had a decade of iv use in 2005. Recently found out i had a bad spinal injury ~age 12, & ive been living with severe pain throughout my body since. Bupe can be a great tool for regular addicts, then theres folks like me who i believe in a compassionate world, should be allowed full agonist opiates. I'm not interested in nor able to get high...that ship sailed over 25yrs ago. My quality of life is trash, & i can't stand this soulless fent. Have had to treat multiple gnarly abscesses, head injuries, cartoonishly broken bones, have gone septic multiple times, cotton fever & protracted wds over & over. Are we ever going to get real about folks like myself who have several severe legitimate issues & prescribe clean pharma grade diacetyl? Or are we just going to keep playing pretend?

I agree with you 100% man .. having chronic pain sucks and we should be allowed to have opiates to dull the pain. Drs + the govt act like if they deny opiates to pain patients, the opioid epidemic will go away. But that’s super far from the truth, people are just turning to fent and dropping like flies. It’s awful

7th day today no hero, nothing.Hard journey, but I will do it or my maker will pull me out of this life,we will see.
So my friend,You know what's mean suffering,we are brother in arms,I must be older than you but writing this to you keeps my mind bizzy for a while....I will gather enough strenght to go from my couch to my table, appetite is coming by today(a little)

      @pinealeye8578 ปีที่แล้ว

I suggest that you increase your dosage. I am willing to say you may have trauma, maybe you don't remember it because trauma is why we become addicted as my understanding is. Do you see a therapist or anyone who you can talk to? I remembered a traumatic encounter with a Pederast priest and my unconscious submerged it until last year, so be open minded to going up on your dosage and talking with someone. My physician had me on #5 8/2 suboxone tabs back in 2004, so there is no ceiling or maximum dosage.
      P.S.
*look into sublocade, it's a monthly injection of 100mg's or 300mgs n I guess that they may give 2 100mg injections so this is a newer and much stronger way to be cured of this death sentence known as addiction

I’m on 24 mg per day I was addicted to painkillers my doctor made me go cold turkey for 4 days I thought I was gonna die . I was projectile vomiting constantly I was in bits 😢 then she put me on low dose at first so I had to go visit her 3 times per day then go to the chemist 3 times a day to take it she had to check me and see how it takes on my body it was so hard I had to do this for two weeks until I was stable and on 24 mg she told me I would have to take methadone if the 24mgs doesn’t hold me I am really against methadone my mother was on it and it destroyed her body and mind . But my doctor told me that she was gonna put me on the suboxone and take me down very fast 3 years later I’m still on 24mg will I be able to get off it without those horrible withdrawals that I had already gone through? 😰😰

Wtf keeping someone for 4to 6years or life that’s the worse advice I have herd,if someone is tired and had enough living like that then the worse thing for an addict is the withdrawals once the addict goes thrue a few days of withdrawals with minimum pain from suboxene then take less and less suboxene so your body don’t become dependent on suboxene ,because the withdrawals from suboxene are way way worse then heroine or fantynal so don’t try to do suboxene that long just a few days so you won’t get hooked on that legal drug, what’s the point of stoping a street drug just to get hooked on a legal drug that’s much much worse ,once again this shows
