I went to a class for 3m products panel bond and adhesive would be applied to both surfaces und brushed in to cover the complete surface as a primer then a squish bead on both parts and then pressed together I’ve seen failure when all the steps are not followed
Been watching all along and the car looks splendid, but, For me the factory wing looks better. The top surface with the exposed bracketry is to cluttered.
Definitely a personal preference thing. But ultimately I will make another set of uprights that will allow me to mount the factory wing if/when I get bored of the swan neck. Interchangeability would be ideal!
That whole car looks sick.
Stunning work, stunning car. Great stuff..
Awesome as always Dan! happy Thanksgiving!
Dan, look really good, hope you will round over the leading edge of the wing uprights. This is an epic Ultima!!!
@@vipervette03 yeppers-it’s on my list! 👍
I would consider making some 3d printed surrounds for the slits in the declkid where the wing mounts. Should help fill that panel gap.
Dan : i know you plan to wrap it but please dont. Looks soo good black
@@blakek.7201 The black does look good, that’s for sure. Maybe I’ll compromise and keep most of it black. 😜
Are you planning to add some sort of cover to the roll bar?
I wonder what the strength/weight difference would have been with honeycomb cored CF instead of just thick ol' carbon.
Great question! It would be easy to swap out the uprights if I learn of a lighter, but just as strong alternative.
Was thinking the same thing,
Compression vs tension
Hi Dan so you think you should plasti coat the swan neck fixing bolts to match the wing end plates?
Great idea. That will hide the hardware nicely. Thanks for the tip! 🙏
