I sure miss standing in a venue, arms folded tight, with other dudes standing in the venue with arms folded tight, while watching great bands like Mogwai.
I saw them in primavera sound, Barcelona, around 2002-3, or so. They started at dawn, firsts songs started and the multitude was completely in silence, just wrapped by the sound. Then a light rain started to fall, but it seemed part of the show, because color lights of stage become even more magical. Everybody under the rain, while the night arriving, let them self loose into the wall sound. Best concert ever.

Yes!!! My fave as well. The build up to release is unearthly. Love “Mogwai Fear Satan” as well. It’s definitely the loudest and most powerful song from my point of view.
Mogwai take you to another place all together. You feel every emotion from seeing them live and that is from an emotionally dunted fellow Scot. Go go go the mogwai!

saw them live a month or so ago At Primavera and it was probably the best set I've seen in my life. They were all hugging eachother after as well I think they knew how good they were. It was visceral stuff

Cat - her snare and kick placment is what makes Mogwai so consistently fablous....after that its chord voicings and progressions that we have never heard before....Thanks Mog for making my life so much richer emotionallhy and intellectually. ...and conforting me when I nneded that and helping me feel loss when I needed that, and helping see what I was blind to. You have opened new organs of perception in me (Goethe) and totally derailed my artistic direction as I have been studying you and put on hold the piece I was composing....I dont know where your are leading me....all I know is I need Cat to record a drum part for me. @@morganlake41632 I think she's not in the band anymore. She was only there for a few months to replace Martin who had health problems and was unable to travel with the band. It's Martin Bulloch you're hearing on their records.
@@morganlake41632 @HeK is correct - Cat is currently (or was) touring with KT Tunstall. She was sadly only filling in with Mogwai. I love her energy too and would have loved to have seen their last tour with her present.
Had to look up who that incredibly young and talented drummer was - not sure how old she is but she looks like she could be Stuart's grandchild. I know she's an accomplished musician in her own right but it still must've been nervewracking to step in and play with a band who are essentially scottish musical royalty. Got to say that to my non-musician ears it seems like she absolutely killed it and gave the band exactly what they needed.
while i would love for them to sell out stadiums, it is otherwise quite excellent that a band this good still plays in small venues like this. and whoever does their sound live is the best around. these are among the loudest shows you will ever go to and they are crystal clear from start to finish.

Not a 2019 show. Martin Bulloch was back in that year, and Cat Myers was joining another band. This show was played on November 4, 2017.

It was cool seeing them at Psycho Las Vegas last year. They played for about 2,000 people in a 20,000 seat arena so it sounded really cool.
