A friend of mine said to me “ without check and balance freedom is free doom” I add this to his saying “without check and balance and rule of law freedom is free doom” Hermela I thank you your hard work for change. I thank your mother for raising you to become a guiding light. I love your guest.

Derege Demissie, you’re one special analyst. We would have been in a much better place if our leaders could have listen this well and implement that right to everyone. God bless you for giving us this eloquently spoken insight sir. Thank you Hermela for having him in your show.

I would like to thank both of you! Very important concepts I perceived and I believe many can have better understanding about structure of a democratic and federalism nation.
Hermela I have the same background as you and I knew how TPLF used and using our people! We need to end these arrogant and racist rule. You are a hero and keep it up!

I am impressed by this intellectual discussion. When intellectuals are silent, cadres take over and countries het destroyed. When you hear more about Ethnic federalism and its danger, I am surprised how we survived so far. It’s an ethnic prison. As Derege said, we need to think of Ethiopia 300 years from now.

Ethiopians should not experience less rights in any region of Ethiopia.
The current system is closer to segregation; segregation is anti-democratic and isn't federalism.
Ethiopia needs to scrap the old constitution and create a constitution that supports proper and REAL democracy.
This ethnic politics and tribalism is antiquated, moronic and DEADLY.
    Edit:
It's odd how the ethnic leadership live in Western nations that practice actual life, liberty and fraternity but don't practice this in Ethiopia.
It seems like these very leaders gain from this divisive politics...
No wonder Ethiopia is dysfunctional to this day.
So many lives lost due to the failure of leadership...

Great interview Hermela. The battle aint be easy as this has been the dogma of tplf for more than four decades and many cadres have 'illegally' benefited throughout the country. Unfortunately, we are at a generation who is deeply brainwashed and the contrast is sharp. Brave keep this torch moving

You are absolutely true and that's what I have been saying. The system is so messed up created to divide and conquer for over 30 yrs ppl have been brainwashed it might take another 30 years and generational change before things start working.

By the way what made worse the Ethiopian Ethnic federalism is that the nationalized land belonging to Government, which after Ethnic federalism belongs to that Ethnic Government (to those in power by the name of that Ethnic group), anyone individually living in that region has no right, specially those not belonging to that region.

Unfortunately, the enemies of all Ethiopian people are not only the TPLF group but also the ONEG(OLF) group and its partner the Abiy Barbarian Ahmed Ali's group are also the enemy of Ethiopia. 2338+ Ethiopians civilians were massacred by the Abiy savage group and by ONEG(OLF) group in Wellega. I think at this time, the Abiy Savage genocidal group is more dangerous than the TPLF group.

The "kilil" admisteative type has created more ethnic consciousness and division. The regions must be redesigned in a way one region is made up of various ethnic groups so that they will learn and adapt to coexist and live together. That is how the Eritrean government designed in 1990s whereby the nine Provincial or "Awraja" type of administration were arranged in terms of Six regions. For example, Gash Barka includes some Kunama, Tigre, Tigrigna etc speakers. In that way, social cohesion could be created

    • @MrAkaasmara
      @MrAkaasmara 2 ปีที่แล้ว

First, let’s see if that come to fruition when you have constitution, democracy and election. That’s why he is ruling Eritrea with iron fist until he creat Eritrean identity..menelik, Haile selasie, mengustu tried that in Ethiopia in the name of Amhara( even though some of them were not Amhara) not only they failed, they made Amhara people the enemies of a lot Ethnics, especially the one that border with them like Oromo Tigray Benshangul, and Kimant.
Secondly you are trying to compare apples and oranges. Eritrea has 9 ethnic with one overwhelming majority ethnic(60-65%) and seven of the ethnics don’t make up 10%. Meanwhile Ethiopia has 82 plus ethnic groups. The largest ethnic group is only 30-35% followed by 28%, 6%, 6%, 4%, 4% and 70 plus ethnic groups make up less than 10%
Thirdly Ethiopia ethnic groups we’re living peacefully for 3 decades in various region until these unitary ideologies resurfaced thanks to ESAT(media) and Aby Ahmed( government). The sad part is the average working Amhara person living across these regions is going to pay the heavy price. The number one responsible for these are the so-called diaspora Amhara activist and some assimilated Amhara( Birhanu Nega,Hermela ) preaching in the name unitary Ethiopia. We all know what unitary Ethiopia mean.
Lastly for the Amhara people, worry about your people first just like the rest of the other ethnic groups are doing. Then we are going to have a healthy progress.
Peace to all ethiopian and Africa in general.

Proud oromo! Good thought but for some , what about when a Somali or oromos wasn't considered as citizens of the country , for the last 135 years it is obvious those nation states trying
to find their own identity beside that specially the oromos contains 40% of the population and 40% of the areal, it wise to look at finfine or(AA)
More than 700000 oromos are displaced only the last 30 years and lost everything what about them need clarification,
As an Oromo the Ethiopian concept is only Amhara domination nothing else, let all nation states to choose their destiny I could be the right way.
Eritrea choose their own destiny why not oromos or somalis,

Federalism is here for a long time. Not the kind of TPLF federalism. but the one where Killils gets more autonomy. Please, don't fool yourself. Amharas Superiority is buried forever. Tigray said No! Oromoos said No! It's dead forever! Nobody carries Amhara thing whether it's name or culture as an identifier hereafter. I changed my name to Oromo name 10 years ago. Nothing that looks like imiye utopia and Amhara is found in my home. I read Afaan Oromoo Bible and listen Afaan Oromoo music

The country now is burning and we losing so many lives, so I don't think this is the time for this talke, you all could start talking about unity country and call for pace. I am from Tigray and I don't see you Hurmalla talking in the right niche for Ethiopia you only making Name for yourself but not adding anything to help the country.
I don't care about Africa at this moment because my country going through hell and Africa can wait.
