      There is a lot around at the moment, thought it would be an easy one for everyone to try out :)

    Another very good tutorial I think the clear gives more opportunity for experimentation. Brill. Thank You

      I agree John, being the green stuff is great, but does leave a lot of the colours looking dull.

    great content as usual. Clear liquid is definitely better to play with.

      Thanks Maxence, glad you are enjoying the videos. I agree, the clear stuff leaves a lot more room for playing with the colour of the light!

    Hi Ben, this was a great follow-on to the original dish soap video. Have you tried to shoot the bubbles as they rise to the surface and burst? I feel like with the right lighting you could get a sort of magma-esque effect.

      That could be something to try, would likely need a different kind of container though as getting a shot of them at a different angle would be tricky with the distortion from the plastic bottle.

    Hello. Would you be able to please link to the hand sanitizer used in the video? Every bottle i try to buy is too rounded and Would add too much distortion. I can't find anything nice, wide, and flat like the one you have in the video. Thank you.

      I have no idea where it came from, I think it was from a local store rather than an online retailer.

      @@Adaptalux Thank you for responding. Ended up using a flat, clear bottle of dish soap instead, as it had a much more similar visual effect to your alcohol free hand sanitizer. For some reason I couldn't find alcohol free sanitizer around where I live and regular sanitizer strangely didn't have the same type of movement. The bubbles just stayed mostly suspended, moved incredibly slow. The dish soap worked great though - got the idea from your other vid, and the final results were awesome. Shot 60fps on a cinema camera for a feature film. I'm very grateful for your cool macro idea.

    Shoud I shoot with higher shutterspeed?

    • @Adaptalux
      @Adaptalux  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      A high shutter speed will reduce any movement blur and camera shake, so faster the better!

    Hi Ben, great subject... , I do prefer these bubbles as opposed to the dish soap as there are more options with colours . I may try this with my hand sanitiser , I have some holographic paper I can put behind it and shine a light on 😁 I also recently tried the red pepper macro recently (got ALOT of time at home at the moment) such an interesting topic I’d have never thought of! Stay safe, Andrea (Australia... Melbourne ☹️)

      I'd be really interested to know what happens with the holographic paper! Reflecting some light off that and into the bubbles might create some even more amazing effects!

    Excellent as usual, Ben!
    Quick *potential* idea: Would it be possible to have your lighting base set on a small rolling platform (think-miniature skate board?) so you could place 4-5 arms perfectly horizontal and roll it across the back of the bottle to change the colors of the light in your video? (did that even make sense?)
    Either way...outstanding colors in this video!

      Hey Randy, little rolling camera attachments are available and we have been meaning to get one to try out. Moving the lighting across the back would be very interesting to try out!

    How would the laser arm look on the bubbles or would it be a big bust?

    • @Adaptalux
      @Adaptalux  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I tried a little with the laser last time i shot this subject. It can be good for getting highlights on specific bubbles, but its much trickier to position and work with that a simple LED light.Everything is worth a try though, you might have more luck with it than me!
