I'm a minute and a half into the video and I can't fathom how you found an enchanted sword shrine sideways in the pitch black darkness easier than I've been able to find one in dozens of hours across my past few playthroughs.
Yeah, he has to jump in Tedit to change things around, or the custom challenges he does will not work, but of course, when he makes the worlds he can basically see were everything is and knows the roughly location everything
I made the world, so I should have known that was there, but I actually forgot so it was a nice surprise. I was searching for a chest with torches in it, but assuming you didn't find that, you'd eventually have light from the lava once you hit that layer.
"Ok, nevermind, I guess she lied?" We've established like 3 different times now you need to leave the world and reenter for the Dryad's calculations to update
not necessarily, but yes warning im going to get a bit nerdy here While the dryad does a full world calculation apon opening the world. every second the dryad will update a vertical line of tiles, starting on the left side of the world. Im a terraria mod developer that has extensively looked into the dryad text and can confirm this is what happens.

yessss the void bag! the moment I found out it existed I never go without it now. the fact that it's craftable means I don't need to grind blood moons for a money trough bc lord knows my luck is so trash
@aafyr3 Yeah, plus it's superior to the trough since you can set it to have extra items automatically flow into it, unlike the piggy bank which requires micromanagement to store anything. I'm still taking both everywhere in a normal playthrough but in a direct comparison the void bag just has so much more going for it. And on the polar opposite end of the spectrum we have the defender's... thing I don't even remember the name of. Earned by grinding out a bajillion tedious waves of old one's army events only to be a clunky second safe, when I assume most of us probably aren't even using the actual safe. Kinda feels like both of those should get "summon this thing anywhere" items like the piggy bank and void vault have, but especially the one that takes actual effort to obtain.
The Flower Boots bait penalty exists specifically to prevent an old autofarming setup where you could generate massive amounts of bait at low effort by standing in place with the boots on and autoswinging your bug net. Having to take the boots back off before breaking the flowers is just enough effort to prevent the AFK farming, which seems to have been the developers' goal.
26:15 She didn't lie, she just doesn't update her count until the start of a new day. If you killed the wall and talked to her on the same day, she won't know if there is hallow unless you leave and rejoin the world or wait until 4:30.
Btw, it's not much but thanks for always making my day, I'm sure you cheer up so many people with these videos too. Merry Christmas if we don't see you around then. ❄️🎄
I found a bug(?) with Golem and thought you'd be interested. So, if you destroy Golem's body but spawn a new one fast enough, then the previous head will stay, resulting in a two headed Golem.
@Splatoonspyro Well kind of, the original head still flies around while the second head stays attached to the second body until the second body's second phase
The portal created with the Void Bag disappears after a while (just like sentries), so you have to re-use the bag every so often. That's probably what the Void Vault is for. You can place it down in a convenient area and stash stuff without needing to open the Void Bag every few minutes
Could also be useful for mediumcore, not that anyone actually plays mediumcore. Just gives you permanent access to the vault in case you ever misplace the bag.
You know how the whole small world couldn't fit? I feel like there was a missed opportunity to put one half of the small world on the right, and the other half on the left, so it's more like a giant chasm.
That could be an option, I kinda wanted to preserve the structure of the world. If you did that, you would have two surfaces and two underworlds, or one big underworld in the center if you mirrored one. It would be interesting though.
26:19 I'm pretty sure the Dryad's world evil percentages take time to update, even if you clear out every last block of Corruption, Crimson, and Hallow, if you go over to her afterward she might still say you have 1% left
Sooner or later it might be cool to see you sit down and rank all of these playthroughs by the difficulty and/or the amount of fun you had, which also might be a fun way to see how far you’ve come
Really fun video! The "sky chasm" was an interesting element for sure. The creativity in the "fallen" chests was great, especially the sky chest that fell out of the house and all the way down to the island below, lol. I've noticed a trend of putting an entire playthrough into one longer video instead of splitting it between three-ish. I like it! I'm guessing you've seen a trend in your analytics that show this format performs better? Or is it just an experiment?
Video series just don't do very well on TH-cam nowadays, so if I want to make sure I can finish a playthrough, then putting it all in one video is the way to go. It helps that this one wasn't super long, and sponsors help as well.
I felt like you'd be doing a sideways world at some point. I figured that it was impossible to set up, yet here we are. The Twins and Moonlord fights were awesome! Also I liked seeing you have fun with the editing, like with 33:13 and 48:11. Keep up the amazing work!
Great video as always! You always have the most unique playthrough concepts I wanted to ask, on playthroughs where the change(s) end up causing a lot more death(or all playthroughs, your preference), could you do /death at the end so we can see the death count?

I often use this trick but feels like in a playthrough like this (at least early on) it could come in useful the trick being, changing the map mode to overlay your screen (in inventory last of the buttons changing the modes), zoom in fully so it matches with the tiles you see in the screen and turn down the opacity so its still visible while you still can see the world and the enemies overall allowing to mostly see in the environment after you light it up

43:59 you should craft the Star in a bottle to help the mana regen a bit 51:30 a bit of a "pro" tip if you can't find the mana flower, change the quick mana keybind to right click
I really appreciate that you offer these worlds to download in the description, it means a lot that I can choose to play in these worlds alongside my favourite youtuber :)
30:30 I use the slime mount constantly in all my playthroughs. makes falling through a hellavator faster, lets you jump higher in earlygame (+ can be used with double jumps, specifically sandstorm makes you go very high with it) and its very useful for dodging certain boss attacks due to the fall speed, especially while playing modded
I feel like it should be easy enough to make a mod that does this without having to edit the world, given that there's already a function in the game to rotate the screen and alter gravity. platforms probably wouldn't work though.
31:44 underground desert enemies are actually very unusual, rather than spawning in 'a desert which is underground' (which due to random sand generation would make them randomly spawn all over the place in the underground layer) underground desert enemies spawn only in front of natural desert walls with like at least forty more desert walls stacked up vertically on top of them which does mean you could block them from spawning by mining the background walls in a horizontal stripe twenty blocks above a location
The boss fights in the chasm gave me some major Metroid Prime 3 vibes. Always sick fighting a boss whilst you both are falling down an "bottomless" pit.
Huge fan of your videos! I didn't see you make use of it so I thought it might be helpful to know: If you hold up with the Soaring Insignia you go shooting up really fast, it could help with your next ML fight.

Wall of Flesh is gonna be interesting. Also, pro tip: your mana regeneration is higher when your mana is high. So if you drain your mana, it'll take a long time to refill. If you take a small break while at 50% or so, it fills back up in no time.
These videos are an interesting experiment in how well Terraria holds up to interference with certain gameplay elements. It's neat. I mean, obviously, some of it is "edited" so things will work, like moving biomes around and replacing chests, but still!
the pillars this time felt a lot more natural imo. They were all floating gently in a small chamber. The solar in the underworld, nebula in the PINK dungeon... if only stardust (space), and vortex (surface/corruption) was flipped lol
Dodging Moon Lord's laser would've been very easy if you had the jetpack or the Empress's wings because they go up super fast when holding up. It would've been even easier if you also got the Queen Slime mount, because if you mount that while traveling upwards, you gain extra momentum. This would've let you launch yourself over ML's head super quickly at a moment's notice.
Seeing the temple with no door reminded me of my don't dig up world i've been playing, at some point while looking for the dungeon i just randomly found the jungle temple and wanted to see if i could get any chest earlier (cause there can be a chest before the door) It just so happens, however, that the door was so far inside the temple that various lizhards and flying snakes started spawning and killed me in pre-hardmode
That Eye of Cthulhu battle with the boomstick was oddly cinematic. Reminded me of that fight scene from The Batman in the dark corridor where the only lighting is from the flash of the gunshots.
an idea for a future playthrough: standard legendary mode playthrough, similar to some of the other challenging playthroughs but you skip the fun aspect of a challenge and keep the pain
I'm actually astonished that you under-utilized the Flamelash at the point of progression you got it. It's an AMAZING magic weapon, and can easily be used to kill the Twins early with the right setup due to it hitting 3 times before the projectile expires :]

That Eye of Cthulhu battle with the boomstick was oddly cinematic. Reminded me of that fight scene from The Batman in the dark corridor where the only lighting is from the flash of the gunshots.
the pillars being in winding underground caves is really cool, almost wish that was a normal implementation
Think you got the world record for the quickest death with this one.
an idea for a future playthrough: standard legendary mode playthrough, similar to some of the other challenging playthroughs but you skip the fun aspect of a challenge and keep the pain
6:55 too 7:41 is oddly calming
Good choice of music. Some of my favorite games.
The falling goldfish at ~24:00 omg. I never knew they did that, and it's hilarious!
I'm actually astonished that you under-utilized the Flamelash at the point of progression you got it. It's an AMAZING magic weapon, and can easily be used to kill the Twins early with the right setup due to it hitting 3 times before the projectile expires :]
