    A lot of places in India do not have the option of these charging points and also the portable charger cannot be used in most parking spots, I hope the future models have a removable battery. That also gives the opportunity to have an extra battery. So you have one already in your vehicle. In case of emergencies it can just be swapped. Much more convenient and makes a lot of difference.

    I think Ather is too slow in exapanding their business in India. Atleast they must cater all metros at one go to keep customers intact. I bought ICE moped after being fed up of waiting for Ather..

      Mohsin Tamboli Unlike Xiaomi they're trying to sell quality products. In the initial stages if they don't hold controllable and monitorable customer base where they can take feedback from and keep on improving the product it wouldn't be able to bring affordable EVs into the market.

    Is there any plans for Ather to launch a scooter at low level and less price by removing the tuch screen, navigation, OTA updates. Because many of city users don't require the navigation. If they can reduce the price by another 20 k. It will be an exception option for user's.

    As much as I liked them being the true EV of India, at present, they can be called a Bangalorean EV at most rather than an Indian EV. Ather had everything going for them since and before its inception, but with this slower than snail pace, the initial enthusiasm will die. I saw their owners' meet video, there were about 70 scooters only. Assuming only 50% had attended the meet, they haven't sold 200 scooters in total yet. I am not expecting an expansion like what Okinawa did, but at least expand into other metros, scale up the production to sale at least 500 vehicles per month. If the current models are too pricey for Indian customers, bring out some lower end model or something. Please do something, you guys know much much better than me. This is a beautiful product and we deserve it.

      TBH ather at present is still not well established in Bangalore there are only 19 public charging station that to all of them are placed on South side of Bangalore and more over the claim that they are making is false about every 4 km away the will be public charging station. So that's the reason ather is not able to sell their EV'S here in Bangalore.Accessablity is not that great.

    It would be really good if the total travel range of the scooter could be extended. Like ram and storage is optional in phones these days. I'd like to see a higher range even if it compromises on the under seat storage. I'm in Chennai and it's a pretty big city to travel around. Easily 70-80 kms if I spend a day roaming. Could even go upto 100kms if PEOPLE'S work demands it. Waiting at charging ports won't be an option.

    • @VijayNinel
      @VijayNinel 5 ปีที่แล้ว +9

      There is no market for it. Its a niche product only meant for rich people who want a new toy to play with. Ather will be foolish to scale up operations in a big way as the initial demand will dry up rapidly.

      @DeveshT 5 ปีที่แล้ว +26

      @@VijayNinel people who care for environment, don't calculate 2+2=4..if our little extra money can contribute for cleaner, pollution free and sustainable commutation then let it be overpriced. And funny thing it's not even costly for long-term if you ride extensively.

    • @VijayNinel
      @VijayNinel 5 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      It doesnt do much for the environment either. The electricity that you get from the grid is mostly coal generated. So your EV is actually running on Coal. Shifting pollution from the city to the outskirts doesnt help much. Also if you see how much energy and resources goes into making the EVs and their batteries and calculate it over its lifetime then its not as green as you think.

      @VijayNinel 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      The original question was why they are not expanding and not about the environment. When I pointed out that there was no market, egos seem to have been hurt. If you really care so much for the environment then travel in an bus or bicycle. A tiny number of govt subsidised toys for the rich wont improve the air quality.

    They should open showrooms in all the state capital cities . I don't want exclusive showrooms.. jst want the exclusive product. Okinawa is selling even without charging stations. Because in every city there is a great mass whose daily commute is only upto 40-50kms max which is well within this products range. If they delay too much, the bigger players will catchup fast, nd people tired of waiting for ather will definitely go with big trusted brands.

    • @ThePremkumar87
      @ThePremkumar87 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Okinawa is a Chinese replica
      Substandard materials used. Many customers have reported that their break handles were broken in just few days
      Although they claim 160-180range for ipraise. It just gives 120-130 in real world usage.
      Whereas ather can give you max 90-100 if you drive it at constant 35-40km per hr.
      Also with constant updates on the software in ather ...new modes will be introduced like battery saver mode in android. Where after 25 percent the speed will be throttled to 35km/hr and increase the range to atleast 80km /charge.
      This will be done to get the FAME subsidy ii.
      To get fame subsidy II .it should have atleast 45km/hr speed and 80km range. But ather claims only 75 km even in economy mode. So they are working on a special mode to get more than 80km ..
      Ather Battery 2.4 kWh
      Okinawa battery 2.9kwh
      Ather Motor peak power 5.4 KW
      Okinawa motor peak power 2.5kw
      As you can clearly see Okinawa has used a low powered motor to get more range. Also ather hasn't used full potential of 5.4kw motor. It they use the full potential of the motor
      Yor range will be down to 25-30 km, but 100km speed can be achieved. But it also lead to excessive heat in battery.
      As of now ..ather company which has already throttle the motor peak power by 30 percent. Will further throttle it to achieve more than 80 km range.

    What type of charging port is it using a type 2 ?
    , i think the charging ports should be standardised just like micro usb or type c
    There are two many connectors
    I guess Ccs and type two should be standardised

    Is Fame2 subsidy applicable on Ather vehicles?

    • @ThePremkumar87
      @ThePremkumar87 5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I have mailed ather care.
      They have sent their vehicle to the respective dept for vehicle testing .
      Once govt gets satisfied about range and speed. They will give subsidy of 26000 to ather.
      As of now only Okinawa ridge plus and ipraise has fame2 subsidy.
      Most probably ather will get the subsidy. As users have claimed they got 80-100km range in one range
      Or ather will throttle the motor down to 1000 watts to achieve more range .by restricting speed to 40kmph.
      Edit:
      Atlast ather got subsidy and good news is 5000 re price cut in ather 450 since the subsidy increased from 22k to 27k..

      Why cant we intall a dc charger at home? And if we can what would be price for it??

  • @abhishekhgd

    It would be great if ather does expand faster to all metros. Their charging stations along with it will really boost EV market as well. They can help electrify transport quicker.

    I really like this scooter's design.. It's nice and clean..
    Just a little bothered by 10k per year payment. My usage is not that much. I know they have other plans but those aren't great either

    • @shas312
      @shas312 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      There are other plans as well. You can go with a Ra3000 per year plan, which covers the subscription. Its like 250 per month, something similar to a treat at Dominos😉

      Draw a line from your meter to your parking and setup a charge point. It’s very easy.
      At your parking lot the Ather team will install the charge point.

    @johngulbarga9913 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    First the charger that we buy is it a fast charger if no than please mention full charge duration/time
    Second do we need pay tax to R.T.O
    third what would be the total cost of the vehicle with charger
    Fourth what would be the waiting period once if we booked
    Fifth How many free service will Ather provides
    Sixty can we take it to other city I live far away from Bangalore
    Seventh is battery removable cause we park our vehicle outside the house 🏠

    • @pluginIndia
      @pluginIndia  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The home charger we showed at start is provided by Ather and it is an AC charger which charges the battery in about 4-5 hours.
      Home charger is included with the price.
      Battery is not removable.

    Pls do mention how many KMs we can after charging 1 hour, ather should provide additional batteries to customers who want to go 150km or more, rental batteries could be good idea which solves long range requirement by people as it takes longer time to get charging stations all over India

    In our society we don't have raw power sockets in parking area. Then how do we charge the bike. Does the bike have a portable battery pack which can be charged in our home ?

    • @pluginIndia
      @pluginIndia  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      You can draw a line from your meter to your parking area. Any electrician can do it. there are 1000's of people doing it and using EV's.
