"Breaking the 4th Wall" goes back to Laurel & Hardy - who made it their trademark. Ollie would look at the camera as if to say, "Can I get a witness? Look what I have to deal with", and Stan's expression was usually as if he acknowledged an innocent bystander, as their public antics could often draw a crowd. FB's Day Off is the greatest of the '80s Teen Angst films. The soundtrack is iconic, too.

John Hughes made use of an actual Von Steuben Day Parade, advertising on the radio the day before, and 10,000 people showed up! They made their own float and inserted it into the middle of it, and the confusion/bewilderment on the Reviewing Stand was genuine. The city only gave them a one-day permit for shooting, and additional filming was done just off the route on a soundstage. It was all very serendipitous.

So the story about the clarinet part is they asked Matthew if he could play any instruments and the truth is the guy couldn't play any single thing. He didn't even admit the truth when he was told they added in that part. He just went with it, picked it up "action". Interesting fact: Broderick and Grey were in an auto accident in Ireland during the film's production. Broderick's injuries were so bad that they held up production. So, you should see Jennifer Grey and Patrick Swayze in Dirty Dancing. It's my favorite 80s movie. Ferris Buller's Day Off is #2. Also, I am curious how you made that sound coming from your mouth on the first try. I've been trying to make that sound for years but need help making it right. You both are becoming my favorite reactors. You have no idea how much I look forward to your reactions.
Aw, thank you so much for your kind words. Yes, I just read about the horrible car accident the other day. Apparently, the mother and her daughter in the other car died. -- Yes, "Dirty Dancing" is on our list, I saw the trailer, looks great. Haha, making the sound, I don't know, I just released a bit of air and snapped my cheek and somehow it worked. I got lucky! LOL. Thanks for watching along with us! Best, Mike & Jessica (:
Well, his injuries were nowhere near as bad as the two people he killed while driving down the wrong side of the f*king road. But hey, he got a $175 fine so there is that, I guess.
Yes, one shooting-day was with the real parade, and a week later they put out a radio message for people for an additional shooting-day. I talk about it in my "Afterthoughts" video: th-cam.com/video/0BupCzK-AzM/w-d-xo.htmlsi=YngHUkd-0ZijR4NM

You both have a wonderful day.
_Hello, there... so my first request since I joined... it would have to be _*_"Fried Green Tomatoes"_*_ . Yes, I know... strange title, but it's a must-see drama/comedy, packed with emotion and great story-telling. Thanks again!_
Hi, guys. I am finally up to date now with watching your reactions. Needless to say that all of them were great, as they always are. Although I watched the “Face Off” one, strangely enough it is not in the “Videos” list anymore … I thought it would be worth bringing that to your attention. Some nice ones came to my mind while watching, so even if they were already suggested to you, I will mention them: “Blue Streak”, “Nothing To Lose”, “Freaky Friday” and “Baby’s Day Out”. Looking forward to your next reaction. Salutations from your Romanian brother …
Hi R-Brother, good to see you here. I added your suggestions to our list. Yes, they removed FACE OFF two weeks after I uploaded it. I created 33 different versions, but they still won't let me upload it. Now I filed a claim. BUT, you can still watch it on Rumble (maybe even without commercials). Enjoy: rumble.com/v5afpst-face-off-1997-boss-movie-reactions.html?e9s=src_v1_ucp
A soccer player here in Chicago was named MLS MVP for the 2013 season, and in the spring of 2014 they made a short video spoofing the movie, calling it Mike Magee's day out. My husband and I got to be extras in the parade scene as part of the cheering crowd. It was a lot of fun.
Men of Honor (robert de niro and cuba gooding jr), enemy of the state(will smith and gene hackman), la amistad anthony hopkins and morgan freeman, the negotiator samual l jackson and kevin spacey, Good will hunting matt demon and ben affleck. good movies to concider watching.
Thank you so much for your suggestions, Dennis. I added the movies that weren't already on our list. Btw, I worked on the movie "The Negotiator" as a "stand-in." I met Kevin Spacey who asked me to sit next to him and he looked deep into my eyes. It was kind of a weird moment, but I clearly remember it. -- Anyway, thanks for watching! (:
@@BossMovieReactions that is so awsome, The Negotiator is one of my favorite movie in the action genre also enemy of the state, oldies but goldies and not movies one would easy pick for a review or reaction, the other two either but good movies, same is instinct 1999 also with antony hopkins and cuba gooding jr,, i can name more, dances with wolves with kevin costner ☺oh and another jimcarry movie that also have matthew broderick in it: the cable guy 🙂
Thing is that back then there were no cell phones and no way to track someone like we can today. You would have to come up with a way more elaborate way to cover all of your tracks the way Ferris was able to
Zero chance it can get pulled now a days. When my son gets sick. I get calls, text and emails all day from every class he missed. They made it overkill to stop the skipping school.
Another great reaction- just my opinion, but the relationship between Cameron, Ferris, and Sloane (played by Mia Sara, imo one of the most beautiful actresses of the Eighties, see also Legend with Tom Cruise) can be described as polyamorous to a degree.
Hi there, thank you so much for watching along. Mia surely looked beautiful in that movie. Not sure about the polyamorous aspect since I didn't see any indication of it, but nevertheless, it was a super fun movie to watch! Also, I added "Legend" to our list. Thx! (:
@@BossMovieReactions Yes, I remember way back in the 80s my aunt telling me there's a movie I know you'll love (that being Ferris Beuller) so to this day I always think of her when I see it. On polyamory: I don't think of it in this case in strict sense, but in my mind if I remove the fact that Ferris and Sloane call each other boyfriend and girlfriend and kiss, then it is clear that all three of them care equally about the other. I believe there is also an interview somewhere where Mia points this out.
I’m curious why the Ms. Boss Reacts had it out for the sisters character enough to paint her as the villain? I mean, who doesn’t have a sibling who got away with murder, and you know they’re manipulative and yet you’re the one who has to follow the rules? There was literally nothing wrong with her reactions in the least,it’s a true sibling dynamic and especially in the 80’s, I know I come from a family with eight kids and the youngest was a “Ferris”.Justice for Jeanie!!!!!!!! 😂😂
Well, I don't think Jessica made her out to be a villain, just pointed out her overly jealous and miserable behavior, but I think we both understood Jeanie's mind-set. Btw, Jessica comes from a family with 5 siblings, so she understands dynamics quite well. Anyway, it's all light-hearted stuff, I know. It was definitely a FUN movie. Thanks for watching along, Christian Adonis! (:
@@BossMovieReactions -I guess villain was the wrong word, I actually thought the sister was relatable and she might find her funnier as I know she has a great sense of humor as do you. I am always here for a Boss movie reaction!!
A really fun movie with a good overall cast but stars Matthew is Biloxi Blues. Set during WW2 but no blood and guts just a fun comedy based on a Neil Simon play.
My fun fact contribution will be the car. That was NOT a Ferrari 250GT California, it was in fact a 250 Nardo Spyder. But GT California sounds better, and the differences are small. The one that went airborn during the joy ride, and also went out the window was a clone. The sound clips you hear of the car are actually a GTB V-12 big beast. Still a Ferrari sound, but not a 250!
Ben Stein's economics lesson wasn't in the script. He was just told to talk about something to bored students. Fortunately, he was an economics major at Columbia; so, he was able to pull a lecture out of his ass.
Great reaction! Love your reactions! Could you please react to Wind River starring Jeremy Renner, ( Hawkeye ) and Elizabeth Olson, ( Scarlett Witch ), based on a true story and The Accountant with Ben Affleck, Anna Kendrick, and Eagle Eye with Shia Labeouf, Michelle Monahan and Billy Bob Thornton and Rosario Dawson!

I think you’ll be also sad to hear that almost two years ago, by the order of the eu (intentionally without capitals) satns, rumble was restricted … first in France by satn Mac(a)ron, then in Romania by satn Iohannis. Those two pricks seem to be the most obedient to the eu natsies, blindly obeying to anything and everything. A classic comedy: great script, great direction, and great acting. The museum shown is the Art Institute of Chicago, one of the best in the U.S. The picture you recognized is “Nighthawks,” a very famous painting by Edward Hopper. I like that they threw in that cultural moment to offset all the hijinks.
Creed is NOT a continuation of Rocky, Stallone did a favor to a young director Ryan Coogler and got screwed over in the same way Tommy Gunn screwed over Rocky in Rocky 5. There is a reason Stallone is not in Creed III. They used him. Please don't present Creed as part of the Rocky series. Rocky Balboa is the last film in the Rocky series.

That last scene was perfect when you saw this in the theater.
Oh, yeah, I can imagine! ((:
one of the best movies ever
Yeah, this was a really fun watch! ((:
I think the film producers put out a public open call for extras for the parade scene, and 10k people showed up.
The teacher was in a commercial Dry Eyes eye drops. It was a pretty giod commercial. He talks just like he does in this movie.
Ha, that's true; I just found it. There are more than one, but here's one: th-cam.com/video/kSESu6BnQ3s/w-d-xo.htmlsi=DjKbFODL6GQarD5P
Actually, after this movie came out the weekend following on Monday.A lot of us took off just because of this movie and we got in trouble from our parents because it was because of this movie
Haha, yeah, I can only imagine the effect on young people back then. Thanks for sharing! (:
Oh my gosh, your laugh is contagious! Love it
Haha, thanks for that! We appreciate it! (:
Sweet couple down to earth. Much Love from PH.
Thanks for saying that, Basty. And thanks for watching along with us! ((:
Fun fact, John Hughes, the director, was born in Lansing, Michigan. I know this because I was born in Lansing, Michigan. The list of celebrities and famous people born in Lansing, Michigan is a small list. I could tell you, but I'll skip it.
That was fun, thanks for letting me watch this with you two. You both have a wonderful day.
Ah, thanks for sharing the Trivia, and thanks for watching along with us! Have a great day! (:
_Hello, there... so my first request since I joined... it would have to be _*_"Fried Green Tomatoes"_*_ . Yes, I know... strange title, but it's a must-see drama/comedy, packed with emotion and great story-telling. Thanks again!_
Thank you, sir! I just checked our list and that movie is already on it. But thanks for the reminder. Thanks for your support!! (:
Lucky number 7 👍🏽
My Birthday is #7 -- Thanks for watching! (:
Don't worry, the car was a fiberglas replica. The producer could not even afford the insurance on a real one.
Yes, correct! Thanks for sharing, fellow Patriot! (:
Deadpool has this skit with Farris Bueler at the end of his fillm. I think the first or second Deadpool.
That one is on our list. Thx! (:
A soccer player here in Chicago was named MLS MVP for the 2013 season, and in the spring of 2014 they made a short video spoofing the movie, calling it Mike Magee's day out. My husband and I got to be extras in the parade scene as part of the cheering crowd. It was a lot of fun.
Oh, that's awesome, sounds like fun. Thanks for sharing! (:
Shake it up, baby! Oh yeah! Still so funny! :)
Haha, yeah, dude, this one rocked! (:
It WAS an actual parade going on at the time so they took advantage of it
Hi Candice, yes, correct, I'm talking more about the parade in my "Afterthoughts" video: th-cam.com/video/0BupCzK-AzM/w-d-xo.htmlsi=RDjjI6GgSz4XxoMf
St. Patrick's Day Parade
I have four kids and I would get an automated call if they were late or absent.
Yeah, I can see that nowadays this wouldn't really be possible anymore. Still a fun movie! (:
I know there will be big laughs with this one
Yes, this was a fun one! Thanks for watching! (:
@@2684dennis Thanks for that, Dennis. I added "Instinct" to our list, the only one missing. (:
That was a lot of fun. You guys are great!
Glad you enjoyed it! Great movie, great message! (:
Thing is that back then there were no cell phones and no way to track someone like we can today. You would have to come up with a way more elaborate way to cover all of your tracks the way Ferris was able to
Yes, that's a good point. It would be completely different nowadays. (:
Zero chance it can get pulled now a days. When my son gets sick. I get calls, text and emails all day from every class he missed. They made it overkill to stop the skipping school.
Haha, yeah, I can imagine that nowadays this would be pretty much impossible. Still a fun movie! ((:
@@floretion Aw, that's so nice that you think of your aunt whenever you see the movie. Also, yes, they definitely care equally about each other. (:
42:33 Dinners ready😂
Haha, yep, dinners ready! Love it! (:
That's where deadpool got the ending
Yeah, someone else mentioned that! (:
Thank you for your reactions
My pleasure, LoneBear! 😊
@@Christian_Adonis1 Yeah, I totally get it! Thanks for being part of our journey! (:
@@BossMovieReactions -You’re very welcome and thank you for such fun reactions.
great reaction.
Thanks, Terry, this was a fun watch! (:
A really fun movie with a good overall cast but stars Matthew is Biloxi Blues. Set during WW2 but no blood and guts just a fun comedy based on a Neil Simon play.
Thanks for sharing, James, we appreciate it! (:
Watch the film "Deadpool." He does a parody of the ending of FBDO. Hilarious.
Oh, cool! I added the movie to our list! (:
FUN FACT the Ferrari is a movie prop they made 2 of them.
Also fun fact Charlie Sheen stayed up like 48 hours before filming his scene so he'd look like he was on drugs
Yep, I read that about the Ferrari and Sheen in the Trivia. Thanks for sharing! (:
Wld enjoy the 2 of you reacting to "The Blues Brothers" & "Raising Arizona" if you haven't yet (since I enjoy your comedy / fun movie reactions most).
Thank you, yes, both movies are on our list. Thanks for watching and thanks for your suggestions! (:
@@BossMovieReactions Great! Thank You. I'm sure those will be fun.
"Is that Packman? Maybe". Turn in your Gen X card right now.
Haha... Love it! (:
There are only 30 of that Ferrari model left in the world and the last one sold for 17 million dollars
Wow, that's crazy. Good thing they used some replicas in the movie! ((:
My fun fact contribution will be the car. That was NOT a Ferrari 250GT California, it was in fact a 250 Nardo Spyder. But GT California sounds better, and the differences are small. The one that went airborn during the joy ride, and also went out the window was a clone. The sound clips you hear of the car are actually a GTB V-12 big beast. Still a Ferrari sound, but not a 250!
Awesome! Thanks for sharing these pieces of trivia! (:
Ben Stein's economics lesson wasn't in the script. He was just told to talk about something to bored students. Fortunately, he was an economics major at Columbia; so, he was able to pull a lecture out of his ass.
Haha, that's great. That really was a boring presentation, hilarious. Thanks for watching! (:
Hello Mike & Jessica
Hello Benjamin, nice to see you here in the comments. Thanks for watching! (:
If you want another great Matthew Broderick film - watch Biloxi Blues.
Thanks, Melissa, I added your suggestion to our list! (:
I came to help restore your pluck, cause I'm the nurse who likes to
Hihi... O-:
Great reaction! Love your reactions! Could you please react to Wind River starring Jeremy Renner, ( Hawkeye ) and Elizabeth Olson, ( Scarlett Witch ), based on a true story and The Accountant with Ben Affleck, Anna Kendrick, and Eagle Eye with Shia Labeouf, Michelle Monahan and Billy Bob Thornton and Rosario Dawson!
Hi Donald, thanks for watching. I added your suggestions to our list. We appreciate it! Cheers! (:
Deadpool spoofs the after credits ending of this movie
That's what I've heard. Haven't seen it though. (:
Y’all should check out Beetlejuice
Hi Heather, yes, that one is on our list! Thanks! (:
I am sad to hear that happened to you. There I can not even access my own account (which is /user/KayCosti) anymore and videos I can watch only by downloading them from third party sites, so thanks for the link (I already downloaded it).
Wow, that's some serious censoring going on! Thanks for sharing! O-:
Gruezi aus Walensee, CH! Sounded like you guys haven't seen Mathew Broderick before? If not, check out "Wargames" & "The Cable Guy" (also starring Jim Carrey, & I know you guys like Jim Carrey).
Hello and Grüezi zum Walensee. I'm originally from Baselland. Yes, thanks for the suggestions, both movies are on our list! (:
Cool! I love both those movies & will definitely look forward to your reactions. I'm a dual citizen (U.S.A.,/Swiss) and live 6 months here/6 months there.
@@rwaa6931 Oh, fantastic. I'm actually a triple citizen (CH / USA / Canada), but I mainly live here in LA and visit CH every few years or so. Happy to have you on board! (:

Father never meet Ferris's girlfriend?
Yeah, good question. I guess not! (:
A classic comedy: great script, great direction, and great acting. The museum shown is the Art Institute of Chicago, one of the best in the U.S. The picture you recognized is “Nighthawks,” a very famous painting by Edward Hopper. I like that they threw in that cultural moment to offset all the hijinks.
Yes, agree on all points. Great movie. Thanks for watching and thanks for sharing your insights. (:
Creed is NOT a continuation of Rocky, Stallone did a favor to a young director Ryan Coogler and got screwed over in the same way Tommy Gunn screwed over Rocky in Rocky 5. There is a reason Stallone is not in Creed III. They used him. Please don't present Creed as part of the Rocky series. Rocky Balboa is the last film in the Rocky series.
Yeah, to me Rocky is Rocky and Creed is Creed, but we'll check out C1 soon... (:
