Cant believe this race was 10 years ago. Smh. It never gets old watching Jr. win his 2nd 500 with Steve on the pit box and Mr. Hendrick ride down with Jr. in the window to victory lane. 😁😁😁
So crazyyy to think how much has changed from 2014 thru 2024. - Kurt Busch was from hated to most respected and even matured 🙏 - Larson was a rookie and now a champion of the series - Logano and Kyle Busch have won 2 championships within 10 years - We lost a lot of old veteran drivers (Harvick, Gordon, Johnson, Stewart, Earnhardt Jr, Kenseth, Biffle, Edwards, Bowyer, Kahne, Kurt Busch, McMurray, Mernard, Bayne, Vickers, Newman….) - We went thru 2 different Gen 6 models, now in the Gen 7 - We lost Auto Club, Chicago and Kentucky but gained new tracks There’s just so much ! 😭
There was 2 major updates to all 3 Manufactuers cars in gen 6. Going from the SS to the Camaro, and Fusion to the Mustang were basically new cars in comparision. @@jacobevenson8702
@@jacobevenson8702 the gen 6 cars changed drastically during the generation. First they had the crazy fast and high horsepower, then later went towards a high downforce low horsepower package. It was great for short tracks, and superspeedways but sucked at everything in-between, with and occasional great race
@@GeidRimla there was much more than 2 different engine/areo packages used though. Nearly every off season during the gen 6 era nascar made relatively big changes to the engine or aero package.
I think this is when it became clear how much Dale and Rick meant and still mean to each other. Dale lost his father, Rick lost his son. They filled an emptiness in each others lives. That's a special relationship and it showed here.
Same for me as well with it being my 18th birthday weekend. The 6 and a half hour rain delay really tested me. My dad and I got tickets through a fox sports package that my dad won at an auction. My favorite 500 ever however is a tie between 2007 and 2005 with the finish of 2007 going up against my favorite driver winning his 3rd Daytona 500.
Wow 10 years already. It was cold because of the 6 hours of drizzling rain. All I took was a light red sweater. I sat in Keach section just 5 or 6 rows back, just before turn 1. Brrr it was cold. But so worth seeing Jr. win right before my very eyes. And I got it all on video
35:30 ten years later of that list, one guy has half a dozen wins that he either wrecked someone to get or just backed into, one driver has been solid trying to fill big shoes and has the Internet firing him once a week, one is a championship contending Xfinity driver, and one of them just led 462 laps of the Bristol night race and had a 10 win championship a few years ago.
It makes me think at the 2:57:22 mark, that the hug with Dale and Rick would be like a father and son. Dale will never replace Rick’s son, nor will Rick replace Dale Sr. Just interesting to see their interaction there.
When I saw the rain delay for the first part of the day, I thought they were gonna postpone it again like they did in 2012. They had on and off thunderstorms throughout most of the day, lightning, hail, and I think they even threw out a tornado warning at one point. Good thing they ran the race in full on the same date, just at night.
Can't believe nascar wants fans to " tune in" on their TVs expecting a race since no official announcement has been made...knowing that the track is wet, the rain is falling, and will continue to for the next 24 plus hours. Greed is the only reason. Can't be honest with fans about the obvious weather conditions...how can fans respect their integrity in all other matters relating to their series? Sad day for the true fan
Less than a mile to go, Oh we got a wreck! Third generation star Dale Earnhardt Jr., Brings them to the line, Checkered flag waving it’s over, ITS EARNHARDT!
damn, ive watched the 2001 pepsi 400 and 2004 daytona 500, the racing changes so much. 20 mins in and its single file high line but in 2001 and 2004 everyone was side by side. No wonder todays racing sucks so much
These videos just remind how good Fox used to be at broadcasting NASCAR. What a drop in quality we’ve seen over the last 10 years. Holy cow

So true
If anyone wants to learn about Jesus Christ reply
I’m a huge jr fan and I was at that race

It never gets old
20 years AND 10 years later.
His late father did it in 1998 and then his son done it TWICE. Life is SWEET!!
I think this is when it became clear how much Dale and Rick meant and still mean to each other.

My all time favorite Daytona 500 ever! I was a senior in High School and this was a great race

13:07 what a catch by that guy
😂🤣😂🤣 I bet he never loses his 10mm sockets with hand eye cordination like that.
Jr fan ets 07. Love this channel. Just wish Nascar would watch these races like us. Then maybe they would see the difference in racing.
2:15:16 Rookie Reed Sorenson? Mike went 8 years into the past. 😂
2:54:10 still makes me tear up how DW says he still thinks of him as Junebug
You should upload the Budweiser Duels where Bowyer flipped

10 year anniversary of this race!
Wow. Mike Joy’s 50th Daytona in 2024. Amazing.
what is edwards thinking at 2:30:16. Did jr fake an inside move here maybe? I cant se any other reason he would not be high.
Drove his aff off that night! He is and always will be the pide piper of DAYTONA!!

Turn the volume off because I can’t hear D.W….I do not want to hear D.W.
👍 🏁🏁 👍
Dillon was either a part of or the cause of 3 crashes. We should've seen it coming.
2024 Daytona best finish without a doubt 🏁
Jr, like his dad, probably shoulda won at least 4 Daytona 500's. There was just something about them & the two plate tracks that was magical...
His old man would have been proud
On Ralph Earnhardt’s birthday & also mine!!!
5:29 10 years later he should’ve won the 2024 500
if this was today, we would have already had a bumper cam or a fan shot in the first lap

Ambrose's last Daytona 500
JR won this race because he out handled everyone.
👍👍
Let’s Go Junebug!!!
Hell yeah Jr!
Kasey Kahne really got screwed this race.
1:47:00
That #42 is garbage. He'll never amount to anything. Lol
Dale Jr got the lead and that was the race. lol
Jr wasn't a pimple on his dads ass, if it were not for name he would have never been what he wanted to be..
Neither Richard Petty, Dale Jarrett, Davey Allison and many more drivers lmao
@JGR4LIFE still won 2 in the bush series and that counts for something in my book.
@JGR4LIFE Davey did not win a title
Let us know when you win Cup series races, then maybe your opinion will have some value
U shoulda been a stain on your dads mattress bud
Um, WTF is Chris Myers talking about?! It wasn't FOX's 14th consecutive Daytona 500. NBC covered 2002 & 2006.
