Years ago my husband and I sat at a small over look above horseshoe park and watched a crew of firefighters climb Bighorn to put out a small fire caused by a lightning strike. Glad it didn't burn because this was beautiful. Hope they can get these fires controlled!
a couple of thoughts, great video and knowledge of the park. Your "Whacking" skills are excellent and as also another solo hiker, one does what they can, caution but I want to get to where I want. Kudos
Great hike as usual, I always love the views at the top an you had some great ones lately! I always wondering if you have a back up plan if your knee goes out ? Other then calling 911 ? Do you carry a knee brace or ace bandage in your bag ? Of course i guess if it goes out an your at the summit you might not have a choice but to call 911 or use your In reach to call for help.
@laurenbouchie2394 I hike with a compression brace and then I wrap that with an ace bandage. My backup plan if things go bad is the GPS. I can call for help on that.
Hi Nick! Good job! The bushwhacking up and down looked tortuous to me. I don’t have the guts to do that at my age. You stashed your poles on the ascent. Were you able to retrieve them given the alternate route you took to descend?
Wonderful views. Thanks.
Great video, thanks for sharing! The smoke seemed better today.
Best TH-cam thumbnail’s in the game!

@allenfritschel1859 Thank you! I was born in Missouri so I think I have a little 'bushwhacker' in me. 😄

No service to callout to 911.You'd need a GPS or a Garmin of some sort.

@pw2883 Thank you! When I said "stashed" I meant I put them in my pack. So I had them with me the whole time.
