Dear Jess. Please get in touch if you need or want some support. I am so sorry about your mum and how you're lacking family support. I am an RN in the UK and I've got sons, one is your age...and I always wanted a daughter! You are so incredibly brave. I am sending you a massive hug.
I'm so glad you're in remission now. You're a beautiful young lady with many more decades to live. Sorry about losing your mum at such a young age. Best wishes.
You are so strong Jess! I had no parents that fully were ever there. My father was an abuser and I only found out of his death through the internet. My mother never kept me safe and was absent and not well. I went through two cancers but I am here. You are a beautiful soul and so happy for you now. Bless you and your beautiful future! Congrats!
Jess I can not believe you had a colonoscopy with no sedation! I live in the USA and my colonoscopies were done with sedation. I wish you all the best and get well soon!
Oh Jess…I’m so sorry your Mom passed away and your Dad isn’t supporting you..I’m orsyimv for you and I’m happy to chat and support you honey..I have 3 daughters and my sis is going they this,,I can’t imagine doing it without family. Holding you in my heart and prayers. 💙
You are so strong Jessica!! Sending blessings & wishing you all the best. My husband passed away from stomach cancer stage 4 July 5, 2024. That’s terrible disease and scary their no words express about it. Miss beloved husband married for 44 years. God bless🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼
I'm so angry for this beautiful girl. And so, so proud of her. New Zealand making patients on the public healthcare system do colonoscopies without sedation is infuriating. These settler states are evil. This young woman has been through so much. She is so strong. Grieving your old self is so hard. I really hope her partner and friends can take care of her. No one should have to go through this alone. Shame on her dad. I hope and pray that she stays in remission!
LMAO, the only reason we have access to modern medicine is because of the "settlers". Go back to sacrificing people to your 'gods' if you dont like it.
You're a wonderfully brave young woman! My mom passed away from colon cancer at 53. I thought that was so young! I'm so happy for you that you are in remission!! Go and enjoy your life, you've been given a 2nd chance to enjoy life!!! ❤❤❤
@ThePatientStory you are so sweet to even consider me & my mom! Thank you for saying that. You just focus on you and your beautiful life ahead! I'm sending you good thoughts from North Carolina :)
Extremely well spoken! Thank you for sharing. You’ve been through a lot on your own. I just admire your attitude! Your little giggles are heartwarming!
I’ve had two colonoscopies in Australia and had anaesthesia with both. So the experience was OK. I’m surprised that N Z public health doesn’t have this for patients.
In Finland you’re wide awake without meds. I had colonoscopy and it wasn’t bad at ALL. I saw my colon from the screen and it was awesome. Luckily no polyps.
You're such a brave person, having seen my mom go through cancer, I know the toll it takes on patients. So sorry you had to go through all that alone but glad you've recovered. Sending you all my best wishes and prayers!!!
Yes, I believe in you. It’s a lot of pain and a lot of heartache, but you can get through this year young hang in there. God be with you all the time. Much love to you.
So thankful you are ok now. Just for general information, gluten/lactose intolerance episodes usually come on a short time after eating something containing gluten or lactose and normally only last until you have expelled whatever it was. Occasionally eating too much lactose in a day will catch up to me much later but these episodes shouldn't last a whole day or days.
Thank you for your video. I’m so sorry you had a cancer, especially at your age. I’m so happy for you that you’re NED. I hope it’s forever. And I’m even a bit shocked that in NZ patients who use public health insurance can’t be anesthetized for colonoscopies. Of course, NZ is far ahead of us in the States when it comes to health coverage (and I bet that a felon would not be running for prime minister in NZ). Be well!
Trust me, NZ is not ahead of you. It’s horrendous, especially in Auckland (middlemore) it’s an absolute horror show. Free healthcare sounds great in theory but waiting times are so bad, if you actually have something serious going on you’re lucky if you get it sorted before the worst happens and you don’t even have the option of going private because they have a 2 year stand down and outrageous prices at that for pre existing conditions. There is a shortage of healthcare workers and hardly any hospitals. I’ll never go back. I’ve moved countries.
@@zelahfines6535 Thank you. Yes, that sounds very bad. But here in the Divided States, if someone has no insurance and can’t get Medicaid - and many can’t - it’s too bad for that person. And in many other ways, NZ is far better than here. For one thing, Kiwis aren’t facing a possible fascist takeover by their next prime minister and an entire political party. Wish I weren’t too old and too poor to get out of here if the wannabe dictator wins (“wins” with the help of the richest man/psychopath in the world). I wish you all the best.
Thank you for sharing your story Jessica, I wish you a life embedded with joy & peace. Whenever you might feel alone, think about me a random man cheering for you, may these words comfort you like a tender caress you didn't expect to receive. your sincerely, a man passing by P.s In the darkest nights, stars are the brightest
God is amazing. Things happen for a reason, to make us learn and appreciate good things and real value in life much more. As for being alone, I know that too well, it triples the fear.
I would like to know how was your diet before this happened? Would you consume a lot of carbs/sugars at the time? I'm happy to know you're doing better!
I feel for you, sorry you didn't have much support but glad you had a partner and puppy. I'm not so lucky, stage 4 gastric cancer, surgery isn't an option
cancer is hard enough in &of itself but you're definitely braver than you even know to be doing this without much help or support. of course I don't know you but my name is Jess too, if you ever want to vent or just need words of encouragement please reach out!!
That is CRAZY she just said the results of a biopsy would take 2 WEEKS that is INSANE especially if it could be cancer 🤬 when our 7 yr old son was diagnosed with cancer osteosarcoma they did a biopsy from his knee area and we were told the next day and they rushed him to treatment I personally would have gone crazy waiting for 2 weeks and we live in California 🌴

You are a true light & inspiration! I hope you contnue to stay strong & healthy. Sending you lots of love, peace & hugs.🙏🙏❤
Yes, it is typically referred to as "bowel" cancer in areas outside the US. It is worth noting that colon/bowel cancer is different than rectal cancer, but they tend to be lumped together (colorectal cancer CRC).
Matthew 11:28-29 "28 Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. 29 Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls." Jesus Christ from Nazareth ❤

Might have had sigmoid scope instead of colonoscopy
Yes in the USA I was given anesthesia, for a colonopospy, but not for the Sigmund one
Here in australia We have very light sedation while having a colonoscopy .
I had Midazolam, Fentanyl and Propophol, I'm in Sydney, Australia.
in the Netherlands they don't put you under either. I was told it costs too much and takes too long to get it set up with an anesthesiologist.
