- Continuing on with Final Fantasy town themes, here's one of my favorites! Speaking of which, tell me your favorite FFV job in the comments section, and why it's not Geomancer. Mine is Dancer because Bartz is looking sassy. Man cleavage needs to be more of a thing.

The pixel remasters are also available on ps4... and steam, I believe. FFV offers, in my opinion, the epitome of the job - class leveling and ability system. Storywise, it has a terrific blend of seriousness and humor thrown in via some fairly cheesy scenes etc. What's not to love? 😅
The job changing system was a cool idea. Not seen again until ffx-2.
And if you haven't heard "Battle on the Big Bridge" covered on piano do yourself a favor!

FFV is definitely one of my childhood games growing up, and one of my first exposures to the Final Fantasy series. So it's definitely in a special place of my heart with this game. Beautiful playing for this!

This arrangement really brings this tune to life. Excellent work, I can't stop listening to it. I won't say FFV has the best OST in the series but it is certainly under-rated/under-represented. Thank you for showing some love to my favorite game in the series. For my favorite class I have to go with the Blue Mage. Not only are they very stylish, but if you spend the time to master them you can demolish almost every boss fight single handedly.
Thank you so much!! 💖 hah, I'll admit I ignored the Blue Mage in FFV. I just felt like I was doing much more damage with Black. What Blue spells were the best?
@@Harpsibored So Blue Mage has a couple of strong support spells with White Wind and Big Guard(which can't be acquired till late in the game). But one of the spells that ends up deleting bosses is LVL 5 Doom. Only a couple bosses are straight up weak to LVL 5 Doom, but in combination with Dark Shock (which cuts levels in half) and LVL 2 Old (which constantly drains levels) you are able to instantly delete a handful of bosses including the fight with ExDeath at the end of World 2. So in terms of raw damage the Blue Mage isn't as powerful, but with some useful support, debuff and death by math strategies you can take down most tough fights with minimal effort. Additionally you can use LVL 5 Doom to farm AP against the statue enemies in the Castle Bal basement.
This made me cry. It brought me to a sense of peace and nostalgia, even though I have never played FFV.

I came here from your comment in Jesse’s Auditorium’s video on him reacting to Liberi Fatali from FFVIII. I always love seeing/listening to covers of retro Final Fantasy music. Uematsu is such a genius! He definitely wrote some of the most iconic pieces of video game history. Some of my favorites are the Opera from FFVI, Red Wings from FFIV, and Not Alone from FFIX.

favorite class: on my most recent run of ffv i had galuf as a hybrid hunter and geomancer for the general natureyness. seemed like it fit, but also i just liked that he could throw bees out of his pocket

Quina's Blue Magic in FFIX kinda ruined Blue Mages in other games for me tbh hahahaha. Quina is truly the best. But there is something very satisfying about taking an enemy skill and using it against them.....!

Great timing. I was looking for something to listen to as I study. The old FFs (1-5) are a bit of a blind spot for me. Maybe I should take the time to clear my vision one day.
4 and 5 are excellent, definitely check them out. I’m working in the opposite direction, working on 8 now and haven’t played any of the ones after that yet.

@@Harpsibored with Throw, you can toss the elemental scrolls, and they do a lot of damage because of the Summoner's high magic. Or just give a Ninja the Summon/Black Magic sub job. It's a great way to deal good damage to all enemies until you get the good summons/black magic...and for free too!

Oooh I love this one! Final Fantasy has so many amazing town themes. It's really hard to pick a favorite. I think they are all my favorite! As for FFV jobs, that is hard. Chemist is a pretty cool class that I wish was in more FF games. But I think my vote goes for dancer as well. Definitely the best dressed! ^^

Wow, that's awesome this is your first FF! I feel like that's rare because the lack of international distribution (well, back in the day, anyway). I am concerned that you like the Dragoon in FF5, though. The armor is cool...I'll give them that.
Yeah...I grew up with a Gameboy Advance SP and all the FFs that were released on it. ...but why are Dragoons concerning????
Think my fave class so far that I've tried has to either be Blue Mage or Samurai due to the possibilities of Blue Mage but also when you think of a Samurai do you expect to kill your enemies with the power of money
I love the Samurai because of the costumes. Lenna and Krile are badasses in pink. I don't like to use Spare Change, though. Killing enemies with money is too close to real life. I need fantasy.

Gil Toss is how I killed Neo Exdeath the first time. It was on a Super Famicom cart, and I don't read Japanese: so I just knew that move was powerful, but had limited use for some reason. 😅

Yeeeah, I think you've convinced me to give it another try! I was eyeing the FFVI pixel remaster since Resonant Arc just started their series on it and I haven't played that one in at least five years. I'll def go for the bundle now.

@@Harpsibored I tried to use every class in my run-through, but I will admit that sometimes I made the decision about who should take each class based on the aesthetic of the wardrobe, or doubled up on a class I didn't really need to because the person looked so cool, like when I made Faris a Dragoon even though Bartz already was one because Faris's red armor was awesome.
Yeah Lenna was more my magic-based person but I still had her master Samurai. She just looked so cool in the armor. I am who I am.

Many of the comments are rating based on aesthetic, and I have to admit that my Red Mages are kinda plain compared to some of the other looks. Let's face it: one of the funnest things about FFV is playing dress-up with the party.

@@Harpsiboredand a lot of those Dresspheres are pretty cool, too. But it's hard to beat dressing 5 different characters in over 20 costumes each.

Thank you!!! 💖 It is mostly the harp with reverb FX. I try to focus more these days on the mic placement and room setup rather than EQ, since I'm a dumbass and could easily screw it up haha
This town theme was very peaceful and I adored it as I played through Final Fantasy V. Now, the real question is, do you want my favorite job from the original FFV, or from FFV Advance? I'll give both:
Final Fantasy V: Mystic Knight. I cannot understate how awesome the costume is, plus I like the idea of Bartz being Aladdin, a whole pauper to prince situation.
Final Fantasy V Advance: The Gladiator, specifically the Advance versions, and not the mobile/Steam versions. Those masks and outfits look like characters from Saint Seiya, and it just makes me so happy to see it.
Damn I never played Advance so I can't comment. That's awesome you get additional classes.
Hell yeah to Mystic Knight! Not only are they dressed smartly, they're one of those weaker classes that the game tricks you into thinking is safe to ignore.........until endgame you combine Spellblade with Dual Wield/Rapid Fire and BOOM everything is dead. Hasta la vista baby.

I definitely recommend taking a look at the Gladiator sprites. The mobile/Steam versions are really boring because they are modeled to look like Roman toga, basically. The Saint Seiya look is so much better, so I will always prefer the Advance version.
Damn I just looked it up, that is some badass armor. Love the silver headbands. I really wanna play the GBA version but am having a hard time adjusting to the................size

@@Xanatrix yeah I should probably figure that out sometime. I was going to until I heard them announce that Pixel Remasters are all coming to the Switch and got lazy. I'm already a lazy gamer to begin with, I just play on consoles as is. Today I learned about randomizer mods and my mind was blown.

Lmao I love that song but I'll be honest, that's not happening anytime soon. The key changes constantly which is very difficult to do on harp. From FF8, I did Breezy and Fisherman's Horizon so far if you wanna hear those! Will definitely do more from FF8, but........not battle music most likely 😂

Best job is the mimic. Master all the other jobs in the final dungeon because the fights all give you tons of AP and no EXP, then massively boost your stats for Mimic and Freelancer. Exdeath is cut down like the sentient tree he is (for some reason)
Oh yeah, I forgot about Mimic. Is that bad? I died so many times fighting Gogo I just wanted to move on with my life 😂
@@Harpsibored Gogo is easy. Just stand there and do nothing. Of course the game doesn't tell you that so you end up trying to come up with some super-smart strategy and literally nothing works
I didn't know I was supposed to do nothing (SHOULDA taken a hint from Cecil's FF4 storyline but I'm not the brightest crayon in the box ok). So I came in guns blazing and was obliterated. I think I looked up that you're supposed to do nothing but decided to beat Gogo anyway out of spite 🙃

I'm pretty sure I had a bunch of jellybeans after I beat Ozma as a kid. I guess that was the child equivalent of a sandwich.
