The backpod cured my Costochondritis in 10 days. I've been battling Costochondritis for years.
Great job Gary! Did you also made some changes in your daily activities in this 10 day period?
@@BarRookie not really, obviously I wasn't as active because my chest hurt badly, but doing backpod every morning for a week completely fixed it
Really? I’m about to order it and hopefully it will help me with the costochondritis
@@MrGaryBarnett hey Gary I think that I have Costco I’ve been hurting in the sternum and chest for a few months now and just recently stopped working out because of the pain. Did this rlly help I am about to buy?
@@evanmargiotis how did this work out for you? I am in the same predicament you were in right now and I’m at my wits end but much more saddened I had to stop CrossFit
Man, I’m glad I found this video. I’ve been dealing with chest issues since last year after a car accident. Had my heart checked, numerous emergency room visits, ct scan and getting a endoscopy for this. I didn’t think there are a lot of people dealing with this..glad I’m not the only one looking for answers instead of constantly going to doctors that don’t have a cure.
Inúmeras idas e vindas a Médicos. Vou adquirir um equipamento desses e depois conto pra vcs os resultados.
Hi, I feel exactly the same I had car accident and having this pain more than a year already, also my sternum is swollen. Did you find solution for your problem
@@tanya.vasileva how's your costochondritis doing today? May 24, 2023
@@gotemcoach2346 hi, the same, did plenty of exercises, nothing has changed, wbu? You have the same problem?
Just bought a BackPod. Day 1 using it I got a loud graunching sound from between my shoulder blades. It was almost instant relief from that moment. I put a blanket over it the BackPod as it is quite hard and hurt me a little bit. Been using 3 days now and it's definitely made a difference. My ribs still clunk a bit but not as sore.
I'm doing other stretching exercises in the leaflet to keep the spine free.
So good to have almost no pain after 12 months. It's not a scam. 👍
Hey, would you please tell me in more datails your routine? Like, how many times did you do it per week, how long each session was and what the other excercises were?
I'm trying to came up with my own routine and every video tells me what to do but not how and for how long... Please help, i can't stand this pain anymore... Thank you
@@Inglescomguspretty sure thats a bot
This green little buddy cured my costochondritis that I'd been struggling with for a year. Orthopedic doctors and rehabiliation therapies did absolutely nothing to help me. I strenghtened my back muscles with exercise after unlocking my back with the backpod and now I have zero problems.
God bless Mr. Steve August.
How long did you use the back pod?
I know this is a older post. I also have costochondritis. So I'm told. I bought this backpod. Omg it hurts. Did it make it worse before it got better? I would do almost anything to make this go away.

@@kristenb2153how are you doing now? I just ordered my backpod and comes in this Sunday
@@kristenb2153 did it help
My Costochondritis was gone after 1 month with the Backpod. I highly recommend it.
Nice my friend!
@@kek3227 how did you do it
A low-cost alternative to the more expensive item is a men's groin protector cup like you use in a contact sport, they are about $10 USD. They are made of strong and durable plastic, you can put towels over it to soften it to a bearable comfort level.
This is probably the best alternative I’ve ever heard of. Well found my friend! 👊😂
@@BarRookie I have used it - works!
Amazing man! I just love the enginuity!
You can simply wrap up a few socks in a ball too
Lol you're a legend mate
I spent thousands of dollars on doctors and chiropractors. Spent hours and days researching Costo. The end result is stretching, posture, and consistency. Steve's videos have 100% helped me. I ordered a backpod from Amazon and it never came (the mail service has been terrible), so I tried making my own. That didn't work, so I re-ordered the backpod and it was delivered the second time. The backpod definitely helped, along with other stretches and exercises that Steve recommends. The cost of the backpod is nothing compared to the money and time spent on doctors and tests.
Hey bro, is costo gone for you now? Dr. Steve really did help but even with the backpod my pain would comeback after a few hours of sitting. I would try to keep a good posture and do the twisting exercise that Dr. Steve showed. It definitely helped but it is been like 2 month something and the pain just comes back and forth for me.
@@yaozuli546 if your pain less than before try building up your traps and back muscles, i saw your comments above , may be your back has slight fat layer which every one has ! And if you are already cured tell me about it how does it work
Yes indeed, working the lower traps will also help with improving posture, to give those muscle more endurance when sitting for long periods (something you want to avoid though)
@@djdablu8818 Alright brother, I will definitely tell you the good news when I am cured, I will try to build up my low traps and thank you for your tips!
@@yaozuli546 hey bro how are you today?
I've seen someone on Amazon say they use socks they just ball it up in each other, I've added a lacross ball inside the first sock then balled up socks around it to create a backpod alternative and it has helped alot
Yeah I agree. If you haven't got one or used it then it's hard to speak publicly about something.
I'm not against, I'm for finding alternatives 😉
I've had costo for 6 months now and ordered the backpod. I'm on day 3, and the difference is crazy to me! My costo would hurt if I exhaled too deeply, applied pressure on my elbows while laying on my stomach, or slept on my side. It just hurt all day, to be honest. I lost my mind in pain and relied on nsaids every day. It's day three and I've laid on the back pod each morning and night. It hurts and aggravated the costo a bit at first. I rotated to Tylenol since it's easier on the stomach. Normally when I take meds.the pain is still there just not as sharp. Today I went without meds and feel just as good as if I have been on them. The pain has minimized tremendously! I can exhale deeply without sharp pain. I will continue to use this at least once a day even if the costo is gone completely. I want to correct my posture and keep my back loosened.
I have a back pod! Very good product! 👌🏾. It does work!
I use it and get massages, chest stretch exercises! After 2 days sharp pain disappeared
I just think it takes a lot for someone to make a public video without ever trying the product!
The point of the video is that I got it fixed without the product 😉 but I got it fixed using the same principles of the product too.
@@BarRookie very true bar...Please help me I am from India...I have issue with costo since 8 months...
I had 2D echo , ECG every month , physiotherapy...Not helped me ..😣
I just took the largest pool noodle I could find and cut it to about the same size as the back pod seems to work fine
exactly! plenty of options to get the job done! :-)
4 days of using the backpod and my costo was basically gone. Best 85 euros I have ever spent. No thanks to all the doctors who got stuck in their social constructs telling me they don´t know the cause nor the cure, other than symptom relief.
Hey Rookie, I did buy the backpod and it helped me a lot. I would lay on it and it does help me to get rid of my pain temporally. Now I try to keep my posture correct all the time but the pain would still come back. I do not know if the backpod is strong enough or not, after watching your video. I am not that strong of a guy but I do have a little muscle in my back, and maybe that is why I cannot really get rid of the pain. I might try to elevate the backpod and see what works.
Hi brother! Thanks for your comment! I got rid of the sternum pain, but now everytime I sit for too long I feel my back getting stuck. So I think it is also about not sitting too much and breaking up sitting sessions into smaller parts.
Elevating the backpod might indeed give you that extra leverage!
@@BarRookie Thank you for the tips my bro, hopefully I will cure soon. I'll definitely bring you the good news when it actually happens.
I hope so too brother!!
@@BarRookie Hey Rookie, one more thing, do you think hanging from a bar will work as a great stretch with the rib cage? That is what I am doing right now after I used the backpod to free up the collagen in the back. I feel like it will give the ribcage a vertical stretch and it feels good. It feels good tho but I do not know if there is anything bad with it. Did you try doing that before?
Definitely nothing wrong with that! Because hanging is really healthy for your shoulders as well! The only problem might become grip 😂
Hello, I have 7 months with costochondritis with tietz syndrome and I miss everything and nothing helps me my symptoms are a feeling of tightness in my heart as if my ribs were itching in my left pectoral and in my left arm sometimes the pain and itching it is so strong that it radiates to the jaw, clavicle and left shoulder blade this is depressing even though i dont have a diagnosis of costochondritis i am sure this is all my heart exam went well my chest x-ray ok i dont have money for the backpod But if you think it can help me for a tennis ball, I need some advice, they tell me that this syndrome has no cure
How is it going now?
How do you not have money for the back pod but you have money to get X-rays?
@@tweedpenguin712 they probably live somewhere with universal healthcare

Ehh health insurance??
How did you deal with the pain and working out? I barely can't workout because of the chest pain. It makes me feel like going crazy because I love working out so much
I know the feeling Naomi, the best thing you can do is to do exercises that do not hurt.
Even if barbell squats hurt for example, look for goblet squats or belt squats.
Or when bench press or OHP hurt, try to find a weight that does not.
Forget for a while the exercises that you did before and try to enjoy new, pain free ones!
I hope that helps!
Yes thankyou for your respond! I had the feeling that I shouldn’t train no more. But I will check which excersizes don’t hurt :)
Same here since last one year Im facing costo and I totally gave up my workouts now I'm overweight and fat...I try 5 times to start workout but costo start paining
@@ragaprintingsolutions I used the backpod and really my pain level is much lower now (barely present). I can workout without pain during or afterwards!
How long did you use it before you fixed it
I think like anything else consistency is the key, have some mobility issues in my thoracic spine area. A friend recommended the back pod as she tried it for a couple of years and make a difference for her. Cool myofascial release cabinet, what kind of beats did you use inside the tennis ball? All the best in 2021, true about the negative: it is not worth it just an energy drain 😀
Indeed man, consistency is key, but people are impatience. So was I when I had it!
Yeah the stuff you collect and buy over the years! it is crazy and usually you end up using only a fraction of it. As for the beads, I used those iron pearls, just because I had them laying around. You're far better off buying a firm rubber or lacrose ball.
Thanks for the positive comment brother! have a wonderful 2021!!
hundreds of euros? i didnt pay that lol got it for £70 on amazon brand new and if it fixes most peoples costo then its worth the money as chiro appointments are very expensive.
damn I still got costochondritis, im trying everyday with tennisball but still pain
Did you try any of the stretches or adjusting your posture when working on a computer or phone?
@@BarRookie Hmm when im sitting in front of the computer I noticed my chest getting locked
That is typically because you sit in the same position for to long. Having frequent brakes helps with this. And moving positions helps too.
Almost certainly your mid spine has seized or stiffened. You need to work on that... Plus breathing exercises to get the ribs expanding on the in breath.
backpod Not only did not treat my sternum, but also let my back also happen pop, I hate backpod
Hi man,
How long did you have costo ones you got it? How did you deal with the pain mentally everyday? :/
Hi brother,
I had it for about a year or 2. There was a long time where I had no idea what to do about it. For me the hardest part was not being able to work out like I wanted to. So I started finding other ways to workout out. At the time I focussed a lot on Calisthenics but I had to switxh to a more powerlifting type training. That helped a lot. But it doesn't have to take you 2 years to heal! I hope my videos can give you some guidance!
@@BarRookie Thanks for answering! Sounds rough. I am 2 months in and it hurts quite a bit. I can do brisk walks, 5,6 kilometers but afterwards it hurts, and then it goes away. I am doing the back pod everyday... Still sore ribs and radiates to neck and arms the pain. But question is when I can start to run and do calisthenics again? Did your costo also hurt bad the first months? It is mentally exhausting, at least! Thankful for answer! Your videos are great man!
I'm on day 7... 5 out of 10pain.last year I was taken by EMS to the hospital
@@BarRookie hey bar rookie I am 18 and have been suffering from what I think is costocondritis for months and I recently just took a break off the weights. Mentally it is killing me because lifting is my life I did it 6/7 days of week and now I can’t and I feel like my problem is not getting better. I went to a doctor then physical therapist and nothing now I am at a chiropractor and he says I have Costco and he’s been working on me but I feel like the problem isn’t getting better. What would you do to get better? I have watched your videos on Costco and I was wondering if there is more I could do thx!
Who else broke as shit and ain’t got money for a diagnosis and hoping this works 😂😂
Hahaha 😅 me!! 😉💪
What the hard ball called?
You can look up massage ball or lacrosse ball.
For reference, this is the one I got:

@@BarRookie Hi there👋🏼 Having costo. l used the mobility ball but it made my back worse. Any results from the mobility ball? Dont know if l made anything wrong:(
Does it really work for sternum and chest pain?
The firm ball worked for me. and a lot of people report that the backpod works for them.
Cut the hard ball in half. then hot glue them side by side flat face down on the kitchen floor.
How did you make the tennis ball?
I opened it up, by making a small hole and pressed in the beads. But I recommend getting a lacrosse ball or a rubber ball of some sorts!
Informative video. Can i refer you to a new chiropractic directory to publish your video? No charge
Thanks! More reach is always better. So you can always do that 😉
Maybe it is a good idea to edit ur video and remove the scam and apology part 😅.
Thanks for the video. Kindly make a video on how to use the ball to treat Costochondritis

@@BarRookie Hopefully brother!! 👊 Thank you, hope you have a great new year too my friend! 💪
Backpod is not soft, this thing is hard as a rock. It has the cover but it feels like a dome like lacrosse ball.
I think I will make a review about the product one day, I have been using it on and off for some time now and the pain I experience is almost non-existent. I am not cured per say, but even if my sternum pops loud and hard, pain does not come after since using the backpod. Posture is a whole other thing that is a bit complicated.
Thanks for the clarification!
Indeed, posture is the thing that will take the most effort, but will have a big impact on healing. But I feel you're on the right track and in the long run, that is the most important one!
@@MichaelSmith-my5sb I gotten use to it. I have actually got rid of the pain. Will use the backpod from time to time now if I notice an increase in bad posture or pain coming back. But I am finally back to training normally again.
It cured me
Any posture positions for when I sleep
Good question. I never had issues sleeping. I think sleeping on your belly or on your back give the most room for your sternum to relax.
Bench press and other sorts of weight lifting are the breeding ground for Tietze / costo. Not the only one but definitely they are After that any sufficient additional trauma will trigger the pain be it a flu or Covid or smoking or whatever makes you cough hard for many weeks. The only way back is ibuprofen or naproxen for a limited amount of time, and constant therapy with the tennis ball or similar as much as avoiding cold water or cold weather, air conditioning or fans etc.

Hahaha, no he did not! I just didn’t want to atract too many negativity with the other video 😉
@@BarRookie Awesome, but brother actually my Costochondritis keeps coming back no matter what I use, has yours gone for good ?
Yes mine hasn't returned again. It sometimes want to show its ugly head, but I'm always able to work it away again.
How is your day going? Does it involve a lot of sitting and working on phone and computer. Maybe your posture is hindering your progress?!
@@BarRookie I do have to work on phone and laptop all day and wfh has made it worst, what do you suggest for posture correction ? I’ve been working on my lower and mid traps lately to increase its strength to stop chest from being pulled forward.
That is a great start my friend. I typically try to take as many breaks as possible when sitting is inevitable. Because I feel that if you do your best to keep a good posture, at one point in time you will get tired and your posture will fail.
I agree that it starts in the ribs it starts from the right and you feel like it broke a rib and that shits across the chest. There is no treatment it can last for two weeks two months and you’re taking all these pain pills which is ridiculous. I don’t believe that the exercise would helpLet’s get to the cars and carrot not treat it. The cause could be from emotional stress, overreach over exertion, etc. when this happens the joints become inflamed. The best way to cure this is to juice celery juice and cucumber juice at fresh turmeric although I’m not crazy about the turmeric part I don’t believe it’s going to do much as far as information is concerned. But it is inflammation. So let’s focus on the inflammation and get rid of it with celery juice Drink one 8 ounce glass of fresh celery juice first thing in the morning, 8 ounce glass of cucumber juice immediately after. Later in the day 4 ounce glass of celery juice, before you go to sleep for ounces of celery juice and 4 ounces of cucumber. That will reduce your inflammation
