Not surprised how Whitney was animated. Her official artwork left LITTLE to the imagination as it was. Two things I WASN'T expecting was her busting out of her top nor pairing her with Gold.

Jees I love that idea that Gym Leaders have 8 sets of pokemon based on the number of badges you have! I wish we had that in the game.
The ROM hack Crystal Clear actually does this. Facing Whitney with all 16 badges is hardcore.
In the HG & SS and the let's go games they have reaches with 5 each.
When I saw that shelf I just said "ow that's so F* smart... that made so much sense"
I went back and looked at each gen 1 gym set and realised each one could easily have a badge number shelf.
Seeing a shiny miltank as one of her 5 just has that moment of.

Definitely my favorite arc of the Gold series so far, and most of it is because of Whitney. I love how you write characters and she is proof of it. Her backstory, her personality I love it. This series made Whitely a favorite of mine among the Johto Gym Leaders. I look forward to the next arc and what comes next.

man this was a brilliant episode. watching this come in piece by piece was brilliant. I love how their friendship began almost mocking and what it becomes. How Ethan grows as a trainer, how absolutely devastating Whitney is, and her backstory behind it all, why she became so strong in the first place. And oh when that ultra instinct theme kicked in, my god so good. Shivers every time.
Your storytelling ability is masterful. Absolutely incredible!

@user-iq3sb2gu1d There's another artist called MarkBox who used to show some of the more SFW art on TH-cam (don't know if he still does) and whenever he made an animation about Whitney, he'd draw her as an busty woman who had a knack for beating the GSC male protagonist into submission while also having the hots for him.
Red's girlfriend is Misty, Ethan's girlfriend is Whitney, Kris's boyfriend is Silver from what we know from the previous season, Brenden's girlfriend is May, Nate's girlfriend is Yancy, Rosa's boyfriend is Curtis. I wonder who everyone else will end up with?

@@uvr4402 Red's relationship with Misty is canon in Adventures, so is Brenden's relationship with May's in Adventures. But as for the 2 trainers from Black 2 and White 2, it's only theory. But Pedro Araujo makes these series based on all the lore with a few changes such as making the trainers 16 rather then 10-12. Hell, for all we know Blue ended with Leaf as his girlfriend in his version of the lore or even making Lucas (trainer from Diamond and Pearl) girlfriend either be Dawn, Candice, or he might make a poll on who he should end up with. For all we know, we might see a Chris cameo in the Sonic Adventure series due to Chris and Sonic X being popular in Japan.

If any of you played Heart Gold or Soulsilver Whitney was nightmare fuel on the gym rematch something truly terrifying
Gold may have got the insignia he wanted, scored Whitney, evolved his gigachad Wooper while Krys got the Sun Stone she wanted, the pokemon at the Park and all... but Whitney got something beyond all of that AND IT'S NOT APPLIED PHYSICS. She got *character development*
Also I love how the author used Crystal Clear as reference for the animation, definitely the best hack rom out there.

I’m really liking how the story plays out in a way that resembles the anime and the characters are well fleshed out. Not to mention that Gold and Whitney being in a relationship is something that I wasn’t expecting, but I really like it. I hope they continue to love and support each other while Gold and Kris continue their Pokémon journey.

Watching the entire arc in a single go is just great, Whitney's battling style is a very problematic, a decently fast tanky mon that can set boosts while attacking, with self heading. Hard to take in one go and a menace if it stays too long.

I do have a question about this going forward? After Morty the games levels plateau in the mid 30s because of it opening up and you could challenge different gym leaders in any order even the Rockets stay in that level range. So my question is do you have any intention of modifying any of the gym leaders or rocket executive teams to be more imposing for later in the Journey?

Whitney can be very frustrating to beat because of her Miltank is tanky defense, constant using milk drink, and mother of Pearl.....the rollout. It was so god damn hard but with luck of lower the accuracy I manage get the win with sheer dumb luck 😅
