The NPC's can be the scariest thing. I got caught up in a horde and a bunch of cops opened fire on it with me in the middle. I almost got turned into hamburger crossfire.
This mod looks dank as heck the dream is for the game to look just like this when you start a game in the future. Maybe just a bit more polished. Like I’m pretty sure those people attacked you because you accidentally killed that one guy, so all the npcs somehow know about your murder.
This Mod has 12 different groups to spawn. Every group has it own variables like spawning after X days with a maximum of X People and X% Chance to spawn with a gun or riffle. some are friendly, some are neutral, some are evil.
I mean, it's an actual strat aswell, if i recall, robbers would set up roadblocks to get people out of their cars to steal from them, so it got this guy.
Day One has so much promise, but it seems like the dev has done everything he can to make it function at all and isn't going to be able to fix the more glaring issues. Like, that guy came at you with a frying pan because several hours earlier you beat a different guy to death by mistake. Nevermind that frying-pan almost certainly didn't see or hear about that, they're in the same faction so doing a single aggro thing against anyone in that faction makes them all enemies for life. Similarly, everything spawns near you on a schedule. It doesn't matter if it makes sense, at 3am (or 4am? I forget) a bunch of aggro bandits will spawn nearby and charge at you. Doesn't matter if you're in the middle of the city or in a car doing 100MPH on the highway, though obviously it's best to be in the latter situation if you can help it...
it will be better when the next build drops with better ai framework. you can edit the spawn times all it would take is for someone to make a script to set all the timing to random times it would be pretty simple to do
@@oasntet the base code is going in with the animals but they have yet to flesh out the people npcs is what they said in the build notes this mod is the janky version of build 43 but most of the base code make it work better will be in 42
Actually, it may have been that the NPC at the gas station just randomly generated as being hostile to everyone. I've got this mod and I've noticed that some NPCs just come out as homicidal. Even in a game, the Apocalypse seems to bring out the worst in some people.
I have been trying to get out of Louisville with that mod for a week now, and I never got past of the militry checkponit because of those NPc's that killed you. This mod is really special XD
Tip: If you cannot find any weapon then search trash cans and grab glass bottles then right click on it in inventory and "smash bottle" (I don't know what is the name in English). This makes you a fragile weapon but this is better than nothing.
is it tho, using your bare hands works just find so whats the point in using something thats gonna brake super quickly forcing you to use your hands again, if a weapon is gonna brake within ten zombies then whats the point in using it, you're just wasting time looting it to only use it for a short time, you want to find a weapon that will actually last for a bit otherwise you're better off just using your hands

I like this mod and it has a LOT of potential to be the best project zomboid mod but there's a lot of issues with it such as the friendly fire with npcs and whole groups of people turning against you if you just hit one of their members accidentally, i love the chaos the mod brings into the game and it scratches my itch for a day one kind of scenario in a zombie apocalypse, but i find it odd how the military starts bombing kentucky on day one of the apocalypse while they still have troops on the ground clearing zeds out. I think itd be way better if the bombing is gradual, maybe on day one the military would deploy troops and cops to knox county and after a few or so days they initiate their bombing campaigns Itd be cooler if the mod follows the lore of the game, it takes about a week for the fall of Louisville in game and itd be so much cooler if the military starts bombing maybe after Louisville fell but that's just a silly suggestion Anyways rant over i just wanted to talk about this mod and I haven't got the opportunity to do so until now lol
Did a playthrough with this mod, random lady shot me two times in the leg, ran out of bullets and tried to hit me with a guitar.. I killed her with a cricket bat, hid in a house while the town was being bombed, managed to heal for a little.. ate a saucepan of penne pasta, house caught on fire from the nearby explosion.. got injuried, almost got jumped by some bandits, ran towards a trailer park, lacerated my arm, hid in a farm and befriended a guy named Lincoln, we watched live and living and drank beer together.. after the chaos died down me and lincoln are still alive and well, we made some other friends, I have a small farm of tomato and cabbage.. we have rifles and food for years to come, I love PZ.
(if you do survive day one you better be in a building because they drop a massive bomb on your head that obliterates the entire area and flash bangs you and if your outside you get really damaged and burnt. Think thats the mods way of making every starting NPC die)
my dream zombie game is basically just a sandbox zombie game on a big giant map that i can play on. I know it's asking for too much but being able to play from the very start of the outbreak when there are still police and soldiers around would be part of that dream game. The thing about project zomboid's graphics is that in about 10 years, you will be able to use an AI filter to make it look realistic instead of the 2d cartoon graphics (Which i personally dont even mind) hopefully the AI system is something truly special and project zomboid will be pretty much close to that perfect zombie game everyone has hoped for but we never got.

I actually had a bit of loot in my car too, but when I stopped at the same barricade you died at, my car just deconstructed itself, all doors and wheels disappearing 😅 still not sure what that was supposed to be... maybe simulating that it got bombed I guess
It should be much longer than one day, as someone mentioned, gradually increasing the intensity. So, after day 1, everything is the same again as before?

is that possible? i haven't tried the mod yet but are there settings for the npcs? the overly hostile npcs seem really annoying and not fun, there's already so much chaos the random npcs attacking you for no reason isn't needed, yeah if you attack a npc they should fight back but not randomly attack you for no reason or if you do try to fight them chase you to the ends of the earth

Usually a fire truck will spawn north of your location with keys and gas. I found you can survive if you hide in a garage.

First time i played with all this on, instantly got strafed by an a-10 and died
I took a direct hit from one of those bombs. There wasn't even a corpse left to retrieve my equipment from.
Like In The Movies and TV Series Like How The Outbreak Started After You Wake Up.
So I think the AI is a bit weird. Once you killed that survivor by accident, I think the game flags you as hostile for that whole faction.
