Such an inspiration ! Started my running journey this year at 67 years old and so need to be reminded that I can do so much more that I think I can. I can swim forever !!!, but running is a different story. Could barely do a mile in Jan, now doing 4 mile road runs and 10K trail ! Inspired by so many.
@@TirnanHealy Yup, swimming was my first sport, then tri's, open water swims, played waterpolo as an adult for 10 years, CrossFit, solo backpacking, summited Mt Whitney and now my running for a year challenge. Its something I've never been good at and I decided I actually need to give it a go. "2024, the year I become a runner ! "
I’m a Marine. Got out years ago, stayed strong but gained way more fat than I thought I would ever let myself. Got healthy before it was too late. Everybody knows Goggins. Never heard him talk about what an ultra consisted of. Decided to start running about 8 months ago and looked into ultra marathons and there was Courtney. She is my 1st female roll model as an athlete and she takes that to the next level. I plan on doing my 1st 50 mile ultra next summer. I was only running about 15 to 17 miles a week until her videos. I’m doing 45 miles a week minimum and bumping it up little by little. There are many amazing people in the ultra world that are inspirational but she by far is my favorite and amazes me what the human body is capable of
I think with 45 mile weeks consistently you will smash that 50 miler, especially if you increase it gradually. What methods are you using to help you lose weight? I gained some too, currently in the process of losing it.
@@TirnanHealyI went full carnivore a year ago. Feel 20 years younger. All aches and pains that I thought was age related was food related causing inflammation.
@ Jeff Browning, Sally McRae, or David Roche all would be decent in my opinion. Not many docs have been made about those 3 and they’re huge inspirations to many people.
That proves you’re a real fan of the sport. I already have an athlete in mind, I’m gonna do some more research this week to see if it’s feasible to build a good video around them. Anyway, I see you got a channel with a lot of running related content, gonna subscribe and check it out!
Very inspirational 👏👏 I'm a marathon runner. Much older now and still running. Have been on the fence about training for another but now after watching this I'm inspired to register for another!! Thanks Courtney !! 🙏❤
I watched a video about Courtney and have been following her. I was a cyclist, but she is so motivating, I started running and have done some trail runs in the mountains. I wonder how many people she has gotten to start running. She is a great role model!
I started running in 2020 because of Goggins. I’m still running today due to stories like Courtney’s. Thank you, and wish me luck, I’m running my first 100 miler in a couple weeks.
I have listened to quite a few of her interviews and he was actually my favorite! A lot of interviewers seem to want her to be something she isn’t - to have a secret, almost like they think she is being coy. But he seemed to understand her personality and what drives her. Idk hard to explain I guess.
I think it is a very limited insight and old way of thinking, for the one interviewer to have asked her if she has peaked or not. We all can only hope to age (because the alternative is an early death) and so does that mean we get ONE peak and then you're done, good bye, give up? No - the peak changes with phases of life, the age (group) we are at and those abilities we have THEN. We learn to adjust and should strive for a peak at each stage of life we are blessed enough to get to. Dang, if we had just one peak and then what??, nothing next matters - that's pretty bleak. I think Courtney's an example of striving for your best with each opportunity YOU CAN FINE - they don't find you. She seems to seek them out. Very inspirational.
I think it’s mostly easy volume (relative to herself, of course). Averaging around 110 miles per week with 1-2 higher intensity workouts. When you factor in the elevation gain (the hills & mountains she runs), the volume really starts to stand out. Even amongst the elites.

She is the sole reason why I've gotten into running, just did my first half marathon 🥹
Congratulations, do you have plans to do more?
Well done

@@davidballard2412 glad it’s working for you, have you checked out “The Low Carb Runner”? He actually had the record for the Colorado Trail.
She is so incredibly humble and relatable and honest. What a tremendous role model for all of us, in whatever sports we do.
100%
Beautiful documentary of Courtney my man. I keep coming back to this while training. Awesome work.
Much appreciated! I think I’ll start cooking something up again soon…

Great job piecing this together. She's inspiring
Thank you, Kathleen 🙏
Wow! Such a great video. Amazing job clipping all those pieces together to get the "full" story (if that's even possible for Courtney).
Cheers Darek! Required a significant time investment… but comments like this make it feel worth it 🤝
Great story telling. Courtney is the best, such a great video.
Thank you 🙏
Subscribed. Amazing storytelling, such a good video!!!
Thanks Tom! 🤝
She’s a beast! This video was so well done great job
Thank you Jordan!
I love how she called out that interviewer who asked “have you reached your peak?” Haha what a silly question
I don’t think he intended the question in a negative way to be fair to him, probably just came out a bit worse than he imagined

Good point, she certainly wouldn’t have achieved what achieved with the mindset of “my peak has passed.”
I'm curious as to what a typical training week is for her.? Or the races could be her training.
