I’m a Marine. Got out years ago, stayed strong but gained way more fat than I thought I would ever let myself. Got healthy before it was too late. Everybody knows Goggins. Never heard him talk about what an ultra consisted of. Decided to start running about 8 months ago and looked into ultra marathons and there was Courtney. She is my 1st female roll model as an athlete and she takes that to the next level. I plan on doing my 1st 50 mile ultra next summer. I was only running about 15 to 17 miles a week until her videos. I’m doing 45 miles a week minimum and bumping it up little by little. There are many amazing people in the ultra world that are inspirational but she by far is my favorite and amazes me what the human body is capable of

I think it is a very limited insight and old way of thinking, for the one interviewer to have asked her if she has peaked or not. We all can only hope to age (because the alternative is an early death) and so does that mean we get ONE peak and then you're done, good bye, give up? No - the peak changes with phases of life, the age (group) we are at and those abilities we have THEN. We learn to adjust and should strive for a peak at each stage of life we are blessed enough to get to. Dang, if we had just one peak and then what??, nothing next matters - that's pretty bleak. I think Courtney's an example of striving for your best with each opportunity YOU CAN FINE - they don't find you. She seems to seek them out. Very inspirational.

I think it’s mostly easy volume (relative to herself, of course). Averaging around 110 miles per week with 1-2 higher intensity workouts. When you factor in the elevation gain (the hills & mountains she runs), the volume really starts to stand out. Even amongst the elites.
