Album was critically acclaimed. Lots of #1's on year end lists in metal media. Previous fans were left a bit cold though. By the way, maybe you mention this as I'm still watching but live the drummer is also the vocalist. If you like when they go atmosphere heavy you should check out the guitarists band, Dream Unending.

The drummer doing vocals for the whole show is wild! I still wish the vocals did something else but now I'll let it slide even more 😅

Nicee! another album reaction I have to watch in full.
If you want any dissonant metal albums to review I highly reconmend checking out "Deathspell omega Fas - Ite, Maledicti, in Ignem Aeternum". that album is pretty influential within the black metal scene and I have yet to see any album reactions to it. That album was highly influenced by Avant-garde Classical composers like Penderecki and wyschnegradsky.

Hell yeah!! Picked this album on vinyl recently and is currently on my wall/player. Its such a great combination of some traditional of Death Metal and being really weird and all over the place. Will of the Wispers is just so damn good. 2023 was a stacked year for metal and this was up there on my list for the year.
For this year, I think you should check out something from the new Ulcerate album, Cutting the Throat of God. You reacted to a song from their last album, which was very dissonent and dense. But this album has a lot more melodic elements while still being very harsh and chaotic. I'd suggest The Dawn is Hollow or Transfiguration In and Out of Worlds, but the whole album is great.

So glad that you did this and that you seemed to enjoy overall. I love this album and generally the entire microgenre of proggy sci-fi death metal. I would love to see you check out more artificial brain next

I don't know what it is about sci-fi/weird/proggy death metal, but I'm right there with you with how much it interests me as well. It would be cool to see Brian react to more Artificial Brain or some others like Afterbirth, Blood Incantation, Cosmic Putrefaction, Demilich, or Ulthar. There are many others but these are the ones that have stood out to me out of what I've listened to.

One of my favourite albums of last year! Yay! What a nice surprise reaction. The Last song does kinda frustrate me though because the last 30-ish seconds does sound like its building to something new but then it just kinda... ends? They could have just ran with the melodic ideas to the end and it would have worked. Strange. I just feel like the climax could have been pushed further.
Other than that I do agree with the monotonous nature of the growls ^^' maybe some Obscura/Cynic style vocoded stuff could have worked or just some more higher screams etc. To me the bass could have had more presence or a spotlight as when it is given time to shine, its great!
This album and Thy Catafalques Alföld are my favourite albums of past year.
    Thanks for the reaction!

You're the second person I've seen on TH-cam react to this album in full, let alone any other Tomb Mold album. I'm honestly pretty surprised to see more reactions but I am extremely happy for that. There was something about this band that drew me in and I've been hooked ever since. I would also recommend the guitarist Derrick Vella's other band Dream Unending, like others have already commented. If you're looking for a different, murkier sound to this band, I would recommend giving their second album Manor of Infinite Forms a listen. Great reaction!

Oh this was a really fun one, I like the genre fusions. I'll be checking out more from this band!
Also I know it's been a while since you did a BTS reaction but I would LOVE to see you react to the new album from RM called 'Right Place Wrong Person', it's really experimental and surprising and I think you might enjoy it a lot. I think it's the best thing he's made so far!

I really love Tomb Mold but if only the vocals were a bit more varied... I guess it's either the super complex drumming or vocal variety.

Obviously, they mixed their 'new school of old school' death metal sound with a lot of Cynic worship on this one..
