-------------------------------------------------------------------------- Yes, this channel is created and managed by Hickok45 and John, mainly John. The video clips on this channel are segments of videos taken from videos originally posted on the Hickok45 TH-cam channel. John always includes a link to the original video from which the clip is taken.
Hickok45 videos are filmed on my own private shooting range and property by trained professionals for educational and entertainment purposes only, with emphasis on firearms safety and responsible gun ownership. We are NOT in the business of selling firearms or performing modifications on them. Do not attempt to copy at home anything you see in our videos. Firearms can be extremely dangerous if not used safely.

@@jenniferm3572 Wake up to what soon!? So alarmist it's gotten pathetic. I heard the same line of baloney when Obama took office on 2008. He took office with just shy of 300 million guns in private hands. Every gun fanatic screaming about "they're coming for the guns now FOR SURE!" 8 years later, Obama is gone and we have over 400 million guns in private hands by 2016.
As my dad, and his dad, always said: Nobodies coming to take your guns. Their ambitious, pie in the sky bureaucrats, but most of them aren't suicidal. Been hearing that since they stopped letting people buy machine guns.
Maybe if so many of those so fervent about their guns also weren't constantly talking about "taking back out country" (news flash, it's not just the fanatics country) and saying stuff like "we are WAY past elections at this point", you wouldn't make people nervous enough to want to restrict your rights to start with. Responsible gun ownership INCLUDES calling out fanatical, irresponsible language, provocation, and not parading around scaring the beejezuz out of your fellow citizens and neighbors, so you can prove you're a real 'Murican, and own some guns.
So do millions of other people who don't feel the need to parade around in public with them.

      I put it this way...
All of this started when they took the single serving knuckle sandwich off the menu on the playground in the western world.
In the past if you said or did something truly bad, and kids were great natural judges of this, you earned a single serving of the knuckle sandwich. Almost every time it was served it was deserved. The person receiving it got instant clear feedback and accepted the correction, while not suffering undue harm. If delivered undeserved the playground took care of that with either a single serving back and/or social outcasting for an appropriate amount of time for the original knuckle man.
The main benefit of the playground was everyone learned from each incident not just the parties directly involved. The learning happened at a key time in a persons development. As you aged from primary to high school the level of power behind a knuckle sandwich went from a sting to potentially damaging. That natural progression caused a decrease in needed use as everyone learned on the exponential curve, sinking in the idea of FAFO. We all also learned that speech cannot be offensive, being offended is an emotional response not something someone can really do to you. Sticks and Stones sunk in as well. Ultimately this created better behaved and better adjusted adults. Removing this tool has created a generation of entitled snowflakes while also awakening the older generations Karens.

very well said, I've noticed an utter and complete culture shift for the worst, it feels like a completely different world than even 2012ish. Something has also changed to where it's all about me-me-me and screw everyone else as a mentality just oozing from a ton of people's actions, thoughts, and words. Online has become extremely vile and toxic too over the years. "Gatekeeping" and finding any and everything wrong with another person's life or decisions even if they don't harm another soul. I could say something as simple as I ate a burger and these weird online people would come up with 10+ different reasons why I was "wrong" for what I did...from, the place I got it from, my condiments, not making it at home, if I did make it at home using premade patties and not getting my hands all gross rolling up hamburger meat, making it in my foreman grille fast instead of some fancy grille/stove-top, using beef instead of chicken, not using expensive grass fed organic meat, using meat at all instead of veggies, if I made everything completely from scratch, oh-and not using cast iron lol...and that stuff is just off the top of my head. I mostly just stick to myself these days and a small circle of friends, read/watch stuff I'm personally interested in for entertainment and education, since the world has gone so downhill. It's sad, truly sad. I'm only mid 30s too, I can only imagine how the older generations feel. It seems like some peoples' entire lives revolve around being very toxic and vile online. I've recently gotten on a kick of watching ww2 veteran interviews and I lost the comment I wanted to reply to on there but they were saying they were in their mid 30s too and felt SO alone and isolated in even caring about that subject, that nobody our age nonetheless gen z and the younger generation below that seem to give an ounce of care about learning about it and from people that lived through it/veterans. Parents didn't raise the younger generations right, a culture shift completely away from the family unit, and rife mental health problems everywhere have put us in a bad spot. I won't go on and on anymore lol. Just felt this comment and the vid in general were very relatable it was like a breath of fresh air. I don't know exactly when it started to multiply, but I remember the America, that I grew up in, and that would be the America I want for my Grand children and Great Grand children !!! I know it wasn't without hate and bigotry, but it was mostly the exception, and NOT THE RULE back then ! I grew up with Jewish , Italian, and German friends, Catholics, Christians, and non affiliated families and friends !! We all got along, and it didn't require any great effort on our part to accomplish a kind and friendly relationship with nearly everyone I have ever known ! It did take character, and a love for your fellow man, which seems to have been much more common in past era's !! I lived through that time, and loved it , and all without any real effort, I could easily continue to embrace that old lifestyle again !! It just seems to me that it takes more effort to hate others than to co-exist and learn again to love and respect others as we were once able to do, not all that long ago !! I'm now 80 years old, and can honestly say I don't need to HATE, TO EXIST !!! How about You ??? I thank You for this post, and for a chance to talk about something that has bothered me for a long time !! Through his divisive rhetoric, he's given people permission to be openly racist and violent. I live in Michigan and I've never seen anyone publicly advertise their white nationalistic ideology until about 2 years after he took office. Now, in upper Michigan, I see trucks flying the confederate flag with giant signs like "White Privilege", something I've never seen in my 56 years on this planet. Here's an anecdote for you from around just the same time period. I have a friend who is Chinese and has lived in northern Michigan all his life. He is physician. After Trump took office, he and his family were harassed and had their lives threatened on several occasions - enough so that my friend had to move. Our Governor was also the target of a kidnapping during the same period. There's no question when things changed and now it's about to get considerably worse with the re-election of a wanna-be dictator. My dad and I are both Marines; my dad fought in the Korean War and I in Iraq. We're saddened to see a country, we put our lives on the line for, being transformed into puppet regime for Putin. Trump skipped out on military service and now he's going to be the Commander and Chief. It so sickens me to my core.

So much of our Welfare ends up in Corporations pockets instead of trying to solve the issues the money is supposed to be spent on. The kids learn to hide their feelings. Then when they are having mental health problems, they don't want to talk about it or maybe they feel like they can't. Then you combine the two situations with bullying at school and not being able to talk about it at home.

That's a pretty typical liberal talking point. Has this country not ALWAYS been greedy? We were basically founded because we wanted MORE of our money. People love to say how corporations are greedy now, as if they never were? It's always been that way, it's a cop out to say greed.
No one is held accountable in this country. I am a LEO in California. In this state, you literally *never* have to take care of a misdemeanor charge. You really never have to take care of an infraction such as a speeding ticket either. Why?
No cop will ever arrest you for a traffic warrant. My department, it's literally not in our policy that we even can (and we're one of the largest ones in California).
Let's say you have a misdemeanor warrant, which could be a LOT of things: from a burglary that was dropped from a felony to a misdemeanor (happens all the time), a domestic violence charge (same thing, dropped from felony or just a straight misd charge), weapons violation, DUI, etc.
Alright, cop pulls you over for whatever, runs your ID. Boom, you pop a warrant. It's actually highly unlikely you even get arrested for it, because 95% of the time, unless you're in a very well off city with a fully funded department, they won't even arrest you because it's a waste of time. So we'll tell you to call the court and figure it out.
Okay you get arrested. Now what? We take you to the jail...you get your fingerprints done, probably get a meal, and take your photograph. Few hours later, you're released with a ticket and...a court date! You are not held until court for a misdemeanor. You don't need to post bail. You WILL get released MANDATORY with a ticket and a court date.
So, you lapse your court date again, it's been 9, 12 months etc. You get pulled over again...guess what? Same. Exact. Thing.
You can literally fail to appear FOREVER in this state for a misdemeanor charge. And the DA's love to change our felony arrests to misdemeanors. You will never actually be held accountable for it.
We don't have a greed problem, we have an accountability problem - it's never anyone's fault for their own wrong doing, it's their parents fault, or society's fault, etc...

You nailed it with the lack of parental involvement. In Michigan, we have a chronic school absenteeism problem. Kids don't show up for school due to many issues in the home. Social media is problem #2 and we can't control it unless schools require phones to be checked at the door parents limit exposure at home. Inflation is problem #3. Families need two serious incomes to afford safe, comfortable and convenient housing and that leaves kids with social media. Big government will not solve the problems, only parents and local communities have a chance to fix this.

Inflation isn't the problem. It's wages not keeping up with inflation that is the issue. You'll hear people talk about how CEO pay is 2000% more than the bottom line workers. That number increases every year and thats not caused by inflation. Inflation over the past 2 years was 2.3%. If the economy was actually in the shitter, companies would be laying off mass amounts of people and barely staying afloat. Instead, they are raking in record profits. Low wages are the problem and have been since Reagan.

I agree with this. You mentioned the family unit. Many families are dysfunctional and broken. Personally, many children need the guidance of both parents. The wholeness of a family contributes, positively, on how the child is raised. I was on the receiving end of this dysfunction. My mom was distraught and told me that my dad wasn't coming back. I was perplexed and upset at that time. This happened 60 years ago and I am 66. I still remember this like it happened a few years ago. I did ok but had doubts and some anxiety over the years about whether I was doing something wrong or right in my decisions. I even have my doubts about writing this comment. Then I wondered how many other children and their confidence levels were put into this situation. I know I'm not the only one.

AMEN Brother! I totally agree with every word you just said. It was only about 15yrs ago or a bit more ,when i purchased my 1st firearm. I have gone shooting plenty of times as a kid and young teen with my Pop Pop hehe im now 59yrs old.,. I remember when there was institutions that took care ,of our fellow citizens that either didnt have family that took care of them or had someone that could get them the help they needed as a father, brother ,sister or other. They had options for those with mental issue or self control issues and even mentally handicapped. But the Fed Gov slowly did away with those and put the cost on the individual communities that wanted them. If i remember is right any, community today could ask their reps and local politicians to have a current structure or facility be built to house the mentally ill in that community. But in this economy today nobody wants to spend the funds. Yet almost 2% of my paycheck every two weeks is deducted to pay for the illegals flowing over the borrder. I have worked with many of them and ,they "all" live better then home grown Americans that work just as hard and just cant get ahead! I recently had ot take a 50% pay cut because i couldnt find a job in my construction field in N.J. because all the jobs are taken by undoc's! They all drive better vehicles them anyone i know and all of them eat better and have free medical all while we have to pay for their free handouts and get to use all the under the table money they make for them selves. On top of that i have talked to many of them and some are good people and others not so much, but all of them send money home and claim they can retire in 10yrs and go home ot live like kings for the rest of their lives, because they dont have ot pay taxes and ,basically live here for "free", all on the tax payer's back's! Out of quite a few i have worked with and its in the hundred's only a handfull were trying to do it legally! Its quite sad. As im getting closer to retirement my self i see my future SSI I may or may not ever get, shrinking. As they only go by your last 8 quarters of work history for your average monthly check. I use to make over 1500bucks a week and now make that in two weeks at the job i was forced to take. I guess its something ,but when i looked into what kind of Social Security funds i would get monthly at my old rate of pay it was barely enough to live off of. Now it could drop a great deal from that as my last 8quarters may by at almost a 50% drop in income!!! I have worked all my life ,since i was 11yrs old. I worked in a program called C.E.T.A. but i forget now what it stood for? I was able ot get working papers and i worked with the local township workers in my community three days a week for 3hrs at 1.80 an hour. That was 48yrs ago. We use ot go to home economics class which show teens how ro balance a bank book or pay their bills when they rent an apartment, even how ro sew! There use to be shooting clubs that used 22LR rifles. My self and other seniors would pull up in their pickup trucks with a shotgun in the back window, because they either just went hunting or are going after school! You never saw a school shooting back then! The school would arm them selves and fight back! None of these thinsg exist anymore and the teachers are all much more liberal then conservative so the educatiopnal system is basically an arm of the left Fed Gov. Obama signed an executive order ,before leaving office to allow the Fed to use mass media ,of all types for their own propaganda!!! So the left has put a lot in place thanks to a man that brought one of its self proclaimed enemies to our door step! Obama should be prosecuted!! in any case that is anger and not hate. I dont hate anyone because of race ,color or creed but i have a lot of anger for those that live in a fantasy world and eat up every word the left puts out as gospel! Nope i wont have it!!! But i love all life! Im a caring person but i will not allow others to hurt my own! I hope everyone understands that im a good person that just will not ,sit by while someone i love is hurt by hate, spite, politics ,or racism! Im a middle aged white American, and im hated just for that while not one them know mme. Yet i have given many the chance to show me they are not in a fantasy world and most fail. Then wonder why i avoid them. Sorry but that reality in N.J.!!! I thank GOD every day i live ina "red" county!

Hey Hickok45, I’m 56 and a USMC Veteran, for what it’s worth my opinion/observation on the poor situation we find ourselves now in, in the United Sates is a direct reflection of leadership. I truly believe it all starts from the top. In 1987, Ronald Reagan was president and I remember the feeling of pride everyone had, and it meant something to be an American. The world looked to the U.S. as an example to follow. I don’t believe in big government, but I do believe the government sets the tone for the nation. If positivity and progress is the tone sprits are up lifted and great achievements are made. Similarly, if negativity is the tone sprits drop and doom and gloom becomes one’s view. As a result of the negativity coming from the top too many people want to start pointing fingers, calling names and playing the blame game for the situation. This is compounded with lines being drawn in the sand, division among people and the ridiculous notion that one is owed something from another. Attitude make a difference. If the leaders of this nation continue to push this negative tone, we are surely destining to implode. While in the Marines long ago I read a quote by Charles R. Swindoll - “The longer I live, the more I realize the impact of attitude on life. Attitude, to me, is more important than facts. It is more important than the past, than education, than money, than circumstances, than failure, than successes, than what other people think or say or do. It is more important than appearance, giftedness or skill. It will make or break a company... a church... a home. The remarkable thing is we have a choice everyday regarding the attitude we will embrace for that day. We cannot change our past... we cannot change the fact that people will act in a certain way. We cannot change the inevitable. The only thing we can do is play on the one string we have, and that is our attitude. I am convinced that life is 10% what happens to me and 90% of how I react to it. And so, it is with you... we are in charge of our Attitudes.” This quote has had a profound effect to inspire me. As a husband and father of four it is my duty to be positive, inspire, motivate and set the example for my family. In terms of dollars, I would probably fall into the category of poor by todays standard. I am however rich in the fact that I have provided for my own and never asked for a handout. The economy, cost of living and mental health are all tied together. If our leaders would unite for the good of the country and its people, everything else would fall into place.

Basic support begins with our own outreach, but we also need to put serious efforts into the more complex solutions for those that don’t have healthy family and friends: like better healthcare, free access to mental health medications, access to therapists, and access to needed treatment facilities.
