Just went to your previous video for a comparison, sounds totally different when cold. Warm idle definitely tells the full story of the sound. I think I'll go down the road of 131 and 540 too! Hell Yeah !!

Yea, it definitely settles into a nice idle. Just having the 540 cam with the 114 will give you excellent numbers and a good sounding bike when paired with a good exhaust. I was making 122hp and 133tq on my Stage 2 setup.

Now there's the nice lumpy chopy idle we've been waiting for, cheers for that buddy, appreciate it!

Sounds really good! I have the 475c cam and it has that same kind of chop. I will be doing a big bore kit soon with the same cam and I was wondering about long two up rides and how it rides. Also any heat issues, it looks like you have the wet heads and the cooling fans?

I can’t speak to long 2-up riding because my girl has her own bike so I’m almost always solo. I have given her a short ride on the bike and it did fine, so I can’t imagine long distance rides would be an issue. The exhaust is really loud so that would be the only area of concern I would raise. My bike is liquid cooled and I have the fans in the lowers. The bike does get hot at low speeds, especially when the ambient temperature is warm. If your bike is oil cooled and you find yourself in a lot of traffic you’ll definitely notice the heat. A set of Love Jugs could help dissipate the heat if it becomes too much. I’ve had the bike on 2,000+ mile road trips and it performed flawlessly.

Beautiful bike and sound! What bars do you have on there?

Did you have to change springs and use adjustable pushrods?

Yes, with the 540 cam you do need to upgrade to heavy duty valve springs. Using adjustable push rods saves you from having to remove your heads when installing the cam so unless you’re planning on tearing it down to do a Stage 3 or 4 build you’ll want to get adjustable push rods too.

Ah forgot to ask, what's the rideablity like of a 131 and 540 cam? Is it good with slower speeds? Does it feel like an on off switch? Will it do a U-turn with comfortable throttling?

Great question. I had my mechanic set my throttle to be super sensitive. There is zero play in the throttle so when you give it a little twist it goes. With that said, it’s an electric throttle and that means you can adjust the sensitivity with the tuner. It’s up to you how sensitive you want it. Having a sensitive throttle and a lot of power can make low speed maneuvering and turns tricky. I do find myself feathering the clutch more at low speeds just to avoid the jerkiness. Remember too this bike has a lot of other performance parts in it including a much light flywheel and no counterbalancer so it revs up extremely quick. The bike can be as tame or wild as you want when riding. You can put around at 45mph if you want, but the bike is much happier being at 3k versus 2k-2500k rpm. U-turns would definitely require feathering the clutch if doing it in a tight space like a 2 lane road.
