  • The GameMT E6 Plus definitely is an upgrade from the E6 and still has the feel of a Mini Steam Deck. This is a comfortable handheld that really could be something great. Hopefully this gets more community support than the original E6 so it doesn’t get lost in the shuffle of more better known handhelds.
Do you have any interest in the E6 Plus? Do you have the original E6?

Sorry if parts of this got a little drawn out, I recorded and edited it after 2 days of no sleep. There is s lot of opportunity with the E6 Plus, I hope that came through in the video. Thank you for watching!

no need to apologize, I follow the videos on this console and so far yours is the best of all.
It shows the console “as is” without any “beautification”. You can look at other reviewers, they are 90% bla bla bla and run a couple of the simplest games, and everything works for them, nothing freezes.
It looks as if they were given it for review and they don’t want to offend the manufacturer.
Your review, although a little chaotic, is genuine and conveys a real “first” experience.
Of course, we will wait for more detailed tests:
      1. HDMI operation (Android/Linux)
      2. WiFi speed tests (n/ac/ax ? 5 GHz?)
      3. Stick tests (dead zones, intersection of axes).
      4. Bluetooth Gamepad tests (for example, to play two players, one on the console, the other next to the gamepad, or when connected via HDMI).
      5. Sleep mode operation, how long does it hold a charge.
      6. Geek bench in Android. Information about the video driver, real frequencies

Man. I was real close to purchasing this. But this video kinda killed it for me. Thank you I appreciate it 🙏

I bought it, I am waiting for Hack Around to have the AmberElec prerelease for this.

No problem. Give it a bit of time to cook I think this has some decent potential

@CellPhish yes ill keep a ear out. I typically like d pad styles like this. But those don't have false inputs and that's a big thing to me

Weird part is that I like the idea of this thing, and FEEL like it would be one of those handhelds where a few little snips and tweaks would bring it up quite a lot, but it's so new that there's nobody doing it yet.
Kinda like my old v90, the dpad on that thing was terrible and the SD card was the worst storage media I've ever seen in my 34 years of nerdy life; as soon as I did the tape trick on the dpad and replaced the SD card, it became a very good 2D-only handheld.
Like I'm watching this video and all I can think about is how the tape trick sounds like it'd work for both the dpad AND the face buttons, and that alone would fix the system's biggest gripes, but IDK if I'd be willing to gamble $80 and two weeks of shipping worry on a theory.
(Tape trick: the underside of the dpad inside the v90 had nothing sticking down at all, so instead of "rocking" like a dpad should, the whole thing squishes like a big plus shaped button. The tape trick is to add a small square/circle of tape on the underside of the dpad, adding a pivot point and preventing the dpad from getting squished in; the only problem is you've gotta figure out how thick the tape should be and how many layers based on your personal preference.)
God I really wanna gamble on this thing. (EDIT: after the CFW hits and improves, I mean.)

If the buttons are good, then an RK3566 with 2gb memory + ArkOS + PortMaster could be something very special. It takes more than 1gb to run the PortMaster Minecraft clone

I'm not sure 100hz would matter with this screen. I have gotten moo lite working however

    Might be a $20 device and that's a stretch.

With a 3566 $50-60 is about right with the software correct. The low end of that chipset is $65 right now

    God review, but bad software.
    Maybe rocknix os work better?
Android is very poor, I don't understand, pay many for engineering, assembly, marketing... But install very poor os.

I kinda thought RockNix but I’m pretty sure this is ES overlaying JelOS so I’m not sure if there is a benefit there. The Android side blows ,y kind. The old E6 had a completely;y locked down to the point of being unusable AndroidOS and the E6 Plus is so unrestricted to the average consumer it would be unusable.

Yes, I understand that in e6 Plus the android is better than it was in e6. But judging by what I saw in your video (Google services not working, TH-cam not working), this Android was made on a residual basis, there will be problems with many programs and games tied to Google services.
I understand that this is a retro console, and you shouldn’t demand anything more from it.
But I am bothered and upset by the negligence of the manufacturer who produces a console with shortcuts on the desktop that do not work.
I’m trying to understand the train of thought of the person who made the decision to place non-working shortcuts on the Android desktop and it’s difficult for me to understand.
In terms of performance characteristics, this is a powerful console, more powerful than TriumUI, but at the same time, so far both games that you showed on TriumUI work better, at least due to Vulkan Api and libmali.
As for rocknix, for the X55 it gave a serious boost in performance and the reviews are extremely positive. I don’t know how different it is from JelOS, but in my opinion it is a much deeper rework. Well, at least the other day RockNix switched to kernel 6.9.3
I also know that Hack Around (git: tech4bot) is trying to run JelOS, its distribution is called CHAOS, but naturally the kernel version is older.

Old E6 have fantastic amberelec fork cHAos with wifi otg support and portmaster!

Thank you for the video its always good to see something different. It seems like a good platform, good base, probably the buttons can be fixed too ... But it seems by the time one finishes doing so it will be at the price of a premium android handheld from a trusted company.

Hmmm...this looks promising but until we get some CFW, or perhaps GammaOS, it's overpriced relative to the more refined RGB10Max3 (non-pro) and x55. I don't personally care about the d-pad because I never use them if the left joystick is mapped. The touchscreen is a game-changer but why spend $65+ on this when more refined alternatives are within $10? Thank you for this first look !!

    • @CellPhish
      @CellPhish  6 วันที่ผ่านมา

Absolutely. I think this will be one to lookout for down the road. I’m running the RGB10Max3 (non-pro) on GammaOS right now and that is a thing of beauty
