Kenjaku (羂けん索じゃく Kenjaku?) is one of the primary antagonists of the Jujutsu Kaisen series. He is an ancient sorcerer who pursues the goal of "evolving" humanity via cursed energy, thereby ushering in a new golden age of jujutsu sorcery paralleling the Heian Era.[2] Using his Cursed Technique that allows him to transplant his brain into different bodies to possess them, he has inhabited different people throughout the centuries, assuming different identities.[3][4]
Among those he possessed was Noritoshi Kamo over 150 years ago, as whom Kenjaku became known as history's evilest sorcerer and a stain on the Kamo Family.[4] At some point in the past, he possessed Kaori Itadori, giving birth to Yuji. Currently, Kenjaku possesses the body of the deceased Suguru Geto - whom he chose for his Cursed Spirit Manipulation - and had assumed his identity as Pseudo-Geto (夏げ油とう（仮かり） Getō (Kari)?).
Although willing to work with cursed spirits to achieve his own ends, he reacted negatively when these spirits acted like they were his equals. He proved to be a civil collaborator as he told Jogo and the others exactly what they needed to do, even forming a close bond with Mahito, as in their spare time he was shown to play games with them. This relaxed and condescending attitude remained during fights, where he would praise the abilities of his opponents. On occasion Kenjaku will find himself pausing, claiming that he is talking like somebody else; this implies that some of his habits come from the original Geto's personality influencing him.
As shown in his conversation with Yuki Tsukumo, Kenjaku believes that the next stage of human evolution is not "removing themselves of Cursed Energy" but is instead "optimizing cursed energy". This belief is the main reason for his actions, his unethical and inhuman experimentation on Cursed Spirits and human beings, and the primary motivation for his current plots.
As a thousand-year-old sorcerer, he possesses incredible knowledge about curses, cursed techniques, and the jujutsu world. He was stated by Tengen to be the second most powerful barrier user after himself. During his possession of Noritoshi Kamo, he became known as history's evilest sorcerer, and he can create special grade cursed objects Cursed Womb: Death Paintings thanks to his experiments.
In Suguru Geto's body, he has led a group of incredibly powerful special grade curses and made them into a functioning team capable of being a great threat to the Jujutsu world and Japan. He makes great use of his current cursed technique, arguably more knowledgeable about it than its original user.
I feel kenjaku shows just how stronge geto could have been, geto most likely stopped training and just started focusing on getting new curses because kenjsku using small uzumakis just shows geto had more potential and he could probably have also learnt rct and a domain
1. Stopped training? Geto was broken when he had thousands of Curses, that he collected like you said (that wasn't a given). He also created his Maximum. The same Maximum that Kenjaku is using on a smaller scale.
2. There is a blurred line on looking at Kenjaku and being like "thats what Geto would've been." We know how strong Geto was, he was Special Grade. Kenjaku doesn't showcase a stronger Geto, he simply showcases himself with Geto's body, with his etched in CTs on top of that in which Geto wouldn't have access to. So, sure - everything to do with CSM & his body showcases what Geto could do, but nothing beats his Yuta fight, thus he isn't better or stronger.
3. RCT...thats something! Domain...Kenjaku is the Second Best Barrier user, his showings of a DE would be better than Geto's.

Even if he couldn't attain a domain as powerful as Kenjaku's, he surely could've gotten one and RCT.
@@marcioamaral7511 Vol 0, still holds well in the powersystem. Kenjaku himself states that besides DEs, Maximums are right there on the skill range.
Out of the Special Grade Sorcerers he doesn't have a DE, but has a Maximum. RCT would be nice.
Geto would have beaten yuta if he had the rest of his curses but remember he had literally everyone fighting him on his own. Geto is second only to gojo

So after Kenny took over Getou body, in span of 1 year to current timeline he probably wandering around japan & abroad to eat curses as much as possible. So the answer is he still needs to eat those curses in order to use them later as his own arsenal.

I just got to the start of Sukuna vs Gojo so I'm not completely up to date but he's still the much bigger threat even after Sukuna is dealt with they still have Kenjaku to deal with so it's pretty cool to see Sukuna is getting his due but the other threat that was built up didn't get thrown out the second Sukuna came back

Just want to let you know that this is single-handedly one of the most useful channels for anyone interested in JJK. You are a BLESSING when there’s any confusion. Being able to not only explain concepts and complicated moments in a series, but also putting them into perspective with other factors and events that occur elsewhere in the story, while bringing in real-world concepts which Gege themself drew on.
It’s explained so clearly and packed with useful, related, and just plain interesting information that this has become my favorite channel to come to to learn more about what’s already been shown in the series that I might’ve missed without theorizing anything too far outside of the realms of what Gege has shown us.

My only major issue with the Yuki vs. Kenjaku fight was that Gege wasted an amazing of a character as Yuki just to show how strong Kenjaku is😭

We don't actually know if she's dead or not though, usually Gege doesn't like to kill a character off until their arc is completed. Gojo experienced a near death awakening that allowed him to master RCT and the Six Eyes simultaneously, if Yuki mastered her own technique in the same way than potentially she somehow survived the gravitational forces she was creating and healed herself.
Which would be good narratively speaking as she is another of the ideologues alongside Geto, Gojo, Sukuna, and Kenjaku who all have different ideals and motivation's for the future of mankind (e.g. Gojo wants to raise strong sorcerer's well to fix the Jujutsu world, Yuki wants to remove CE entirely, Kenjaku wants to create the Cursed Spirit version of Godzilla, and Sukuna wants a world in where only hopefully the strong reign and everyone else is an insect beneath their boot), so her fighting Kenjaku again, who has the opposite ideology entirely is narratively compelling, especially if she comes back with a Domain Expansion or something like that.
I usually think of it like this, no body means no confirmed death and a potential to return later.

It's a very common theme in stories that a character for whom you haven't seen to be confirmed dead is still alive in some capacity.
I personally don't really care, but given that the theme of Awakening is pretty dominant in the story, and that Toji "killed" Gojo during the HI Arc, there's no reason to say Yuki couldn't have awakened a reverse technique like Kenjaku's that removed the effects of gravity on her temporarily while she managed to use RCT to heal. This is absolutely baseless supposition outside of the fact we've seen other characters beat off death in the same way, and that Yuki seems like she could be involved in other characters arcs still.
Yuki is way too interesting character for how underdeveloped she is, I highly doubt Gege would just kill her off for no reason (they literally achieved nothing but to make Kenjaku look cool, which is terrible story writing if that's the whole thing and she basically got Worfed).
I think kenjaku will kill either gojo or sukuna after there fight and after that the students are gonna have to take him down but tbh I don’t think we’ve seen his full strength if he’s gonna take on yuta maki and hakari and maybe even yuji he has to have something up his sleeve

Just a quick note sometime before 12:00, I'm pretty sure geto used maximum Uzumaki when he was fighting yuta. Though I get the point, kenjaku definitely uses cursed spirit manipulation better than geto. I mean a guy who can take the body of powerful sorcerors as long as they died, damage doesn't even seem to be an issue as geto was missing an arm when he died. Has a supergenius scientific, tactical, and battle IQ, and cunning. Cause he's an old sorceror, if his innate technique is the brain swap thing he must've been a crafty bastard to never have been fully killed in a fight.
I honestly hope we get a speech like how sukuna gave to jogo about how if he did whatever he wanted he could have surpassed his limits instead of firmly believing he was weaker than Gojo or Sukuna.

@@farsous10the point of the speech is that Jogo sees their level of strength as something he could never reach himself so he's hindered by his own mindset of that being the case. Instead of acknowledging them as rivals or milestones to be reached and/or passed, he doesn't even apply himself in facing them and growing stronger. We can see this in play when he doesn't open his domain against Sukuna in Shibuya.
The point is kenjaku doesn't want to become the strongest. He just wants to test the limits of cursed energy.

I think what Gege meant about the malfunction if Kenjaku took Toji's body is that the heavenly restriction could've erased Kenjaku's techniques (and posibly nulling his capacity of controlling the body) or even nulling the physical power given by the Heavenly restriction and make the body snatch pointless
The problem is that the body is connected to the soul. Even if Geto is dead and gone, not even his brain is left behind, his body would still respond to Gojo. As Kenjaku said, it was a first and definitely took an extraordinary sorcerer, with much willpower, and a friendship as close as Gojo/Geto. Still, Toji is also an extraordinary person, and because of his heavenly restriction his body is even more tied to his soul. When the old had brough him back with the seanse, she only brought back Toji's body information, yet his body was capable of overriding the target's body AND soul and take over.
If Kenjaku took over Toji, there is a good chance Toji could take over or at least struggle enough to make the body unsuitable.

I Think Kenjaku ate Mahito in front of Yuji on purpose, maybe Yujis new ability does allow him to extract cursed spirit technique through consumption and not just their CE. Yuji being half human half cursed spirit means his brain functions different than your average sorcerer, maybe he wouldn't be susceptible to the overheating problem because of his unique physiology..........Pure speculation lol.

The thing is Yuji is never explained to be half and half, he's related to Choso by Kenjaku's blood because he was the mother of Yuji, but in the case of the death paintings, he mixed his own blood into the experiment he did that woman that had the 9 pregnancies.
So, Yuji is something else that we don't exactly know that even made Sukuna call Kenjaku twisted, and that opens up a whole range of possibilities.

Kenjaku isn't a cursed spirit, he's an evolved Sorcerer like Tengen, Sukuna, or Angel, and has simply left his humanity behind. To be a Cursed Womb Painting Yuji would have to be born of a woman breeding with a Cursed Spirit, like Choso and the others, which Kenjaku, as Noritomi Kamo, mixed his blood with (which is why they have the Cursed Blood Manipulation Sorcery).
Yuji is something else, born of an evolved post-sorcerer and a human/sorcerer (we don't know what Yuji's dad was), and Kenjaku likely did something to Yuji's body in the womb that made him the perfect host for Sukuna, and I think that perhaps Kenjaku himself was hoping to take Yuji's body eventually and use it to attain Sukuna's power's as well, or at least he would come find Yuji at the appropriate time, if he didn't plan for all of this and make sure Yuji ate that first finger to begin with.
Even Sukuna called what Kenjaku did to Yuji twisted though, unlike his lack of opinion on the Cursed Womb Paintings.

So everyone has been saying that mahito 3:13 is the leader of the disaster curses. Maybe I misremember. But I don’t recall any one member of the four being explicitly the leader. If I HAD to pick I’d honestly say that I thought it was Jogo. He’s the loudest and most confident of the bunch. But it’s more like Kenny is the leader. Mahito is the youngest of the group. A literal infant. I don’t understand how everyone thinks he’s the leader.

When Jogo died against Sukuna, there was a bit of dialogue between the deceased disaster curses where Hanami says Jogo made Mahito the leader due to his potential. Aside from that though, I don't really recall there being any actual leadership within the group.
it's also called the "Kenjaku and Mahito alliance" or something similar. It doesn't really matter because they all had the same goal and mostly worked out everything together.

I mean we have a decent idea given he flattened Yuki and Choso simultaneously, has a barrierless Domain Expansion, and has techniques from a whole bunch of people.
We don't have an upper limit like we are seeing for Gojo and Sukuna, who are currently the two strongest in the series by the authors own admission, but he's probably up there. I can't see anyone but Gojo or Sukuna beating him right now anyway.

What a disappointing end, for, in my opinion, the much more compelling villain.
Saying that kenjaju can overwhelm yuji at any point in time might be a stretch. Although him overwhelming yuji at some point is possible, but for him to overwhelm him at any time disregards feats, strengths, and skills showed by yuji through out the manga and anime. Regardless, I agree on most of your insights.
If kenjaku was originally from the kamo clan does that mean he can use blood manipulation?
I don't think he was born into the clan, but after taking over the body of Noritoshi Kamo, he probably can.

He has a limitation. Unlike yuta who has rika to store the CTs for him, kenjaku doesn’t have a powerful external storage. So yuki estimates he can store upto 4 techniques. Three are already confirmed that being curse spirit manipulation, body hopping and gravity. One remains unknown so far. Ideally he can use it if he retained it from his time using kamo as a body. But I highly doubt he retained blood manipulation. As he didn’t seem too interested in it.

The Kenjaku shouldve farmed more G-1 curses the variety and function would help him become a strategy/tactical powerhouse than he already is. Think of him like orochimaru

My favorite parts of the video is when you mispronounced almost every single name from the anime and manga! it has to be done on purpose because we hear their names pronounced correctly multiple times throughout the show and yet somehow you still managed to get almost all of them wrong!

This is amazing. I noticed you missed one thing though, which isn’t just you, but most people--Kenjaku says he could absorb true form mahito and a stronger jogo. This automatically puts his power above them since in the Hidden Inventory arc it’s stated about Cursed Spirit Manipulation that you need to be at least two levels above a curse in strength to be able to absorb it. Kenjaku being at least two tiers above the strongest Disaster Curses is wild.
not exactly; it says in order to absorb a curse of strength less than two levels lower (or equal or higher) then you have to actually beat them in a fight and tire them out and all that

No, it's stated you need to be two levels to automatically absorb it. Kenjaku can still absorb stronger spirits than that he satisfies conditions first, likely beating them in a fight, or them being weakened.@@kanyerahming

A 32 times increase isn't how that would work either. Exponents multiply by themselves. 10^2.5 would be approximately 316.23. 20^2.5 would be approximately 1,788.85.

Hes seen everything and everything fascinates him. He has no pride and has an arsenal of cursed offensives for EVERY situation, and for the ones he cant control, he will make a way. This guys 1000 times more dangerous to jujutsu sorcerers than Sukuna himself. Sukuna and Gojo are egotistical freaks of nature who believe that nothing can go beyond their strength. While Kenjaku doesnt think too highly of them, he KNOWS that theyre strong and one wrong move with them, hes dead.
So what does he do? He bides his time and pits them off against each other.
And continues his plan.
The only thing Kenjaku fears, is what he does not know. And every sorcerer has a heritage that extends to the time when he existed, so nothings new to him under the sun. The only anomalies to him are special grade sorcerers.

I think a lot of people sleep on Kenjaku. This guy low diff/mid diff m-f-ng Yuki, Choso AND Tengen. Gege likes to make his villains pretty expressive, specially Geto/Kenjaku, so often times it looks like he is in a much worse predicament than he actually is. In that fight, he just walked in with very limited knowledge of what he would find, and he was still confident that as long as Gojo was sealed, anything protecting Tengen was so below him it wasn't worthy to worry about.
Geto who was much more inexperienced managed to wage war against the entirety of Jujutsu Society and came very close to winning (arguably he only lost because he lacked RCT, which Kenjaku can do effortlessly). And Kenjaku has a whole other arsenal on top of Geto's skills.
People often talk about Kenjaku being saved by Sukuna, but Kenjaku was pretty confident facing Gojo. He seems to know he would lose, but he was able to deal with the initial assault of a very angry Gojo, at least. Manipulating is second nature to him, I don't think it's far fetched to think he would pretend to be weaker than he is just to throw others off. This isn't to say I think he ever had a chance against Gojo, but he is far from being neg diffed. And keep in mind that Kenjaku is fully aware that his body won't respond so well to his commands because of Geto.
Personally I think there is an argument for Kenjaku to be on par with or maybe slightly stronger than a 15F Sukuna, but overall I'd say her is #3 so far in the manga and currently #2 alive.
Yuta is the only dude who can match up with Kenjaku's arsenal of techniques from other sorcerers because he has copy

Kenjaku is doing what everyone thinks Sakuna is doing with Megum's body! People want Gojo to die in this battle for the narrative that they think they recognized, when even with him still being in the world. Kenjaku has been able to do things behind the scenes, granite without his knowledge but still acting none the less. That's why narratively he doesn't need to die, and I really do believe that Sakuna may switch teams for but not in the way we think. Because his brand of chaos is not the same as can Kenjaku's brand if chaos.
