I remember a group of these in the early '70s at the Cleveland Auto-Rama. They were called "Zingers". I never forgot them, it;s nice to see few of them still being shown. ..... Jim .
Jimmy Louis The VW & corvette - not art , total crap & if that excites you it's time for viewers to pursue other sites with some semblance of good taste - really that excited you !!!
Gregg McAllister Not that they excite me, I grew up knowing of these cars and these are a very well done restoration of them... versus an old dilapidated version with bad chrome... please go troll somewhere else
I used to go see these back in the seventies at the south bend calvacade of wheels at the notre dame acc campus! they were called zingers and I believe they had models of them back then!
Scott, the VW & Corvette were originally life size models of 1/8 scale model cars by Monogram, called Zingers, made popular in 1971. There were several others like a Dodge A100 van, the famous Red Baron roadster, a VW dune buggy, 57' Chevy, and others. Promoter Bob Larrivee commissioned full scale versions of the top selling toys. All of the were featured in the 1971 July issue of Hot Rod Magazine. For more info, go to hotrodmagazine.com, Where it all Began, 1971 & the birth of full sized toys, Zingers!
That Vette is totally awesome ! I wonder if the are real car's of all the Zinger's ? I've only seen the Vette and the Bug. I'd like to seethe '57 Chevy .
@@ScottieDTV As a serious car guy I sure do appreciate you goin out and talking to these guys that build the cars as well as you just gettin out there and bringing the cars to us John Q Public's! As far as cameraman I would do it for half a Subway sandwich! Let me be the one to thank you for doin what your doing! JP!
Are you ever in the new england area. If so I'll make sure I have some of my equipment there for you to see. My builds are in the same vein. But completely different. Do you have a Facebook page
Ha ha looks like something ed BIG DADDY Roth would have built for his kid. Put some servos on it and make them r.c. !!! Love them Scottie thanks again :)
It just ain't gonna get no better than that, brother! They are small, sassy, and highly desirable motorizillafied creations. They would be most welcome in the manor house, on the hill, in the United Kingdom.
@@ScottieDTV Looks like the axle in the front is fixed. If they don’t work it’s a waste, they would be very good RC models at least, I imagine with those motors they would be impossible to control, would be very dangerous to have someone on top of them!
"I'd love to have that like sittin in my livin room. Hey, honey. Why you packin all your stuff up? What do you mean you're takin the kids and goin to yer mother's?"
The Vette is missing the periscope required for straight ahead vision. I am missing the radical gene required to take that thing out on the pavement. Hot sauce & scrambled eggs. Thumbs up!
I remember building those models when I was a little kid... Zingers! www.modelcars.com/mpc-zingers-super-vette.html Thanks for the upload Scottie, your channel rocks
If that's a real hemi that's just sad. Why waste a rare racing engine in a Chevy that you can't even drive. But it would be pretty sick if it was a remote control!
That Corvette would be great RC car with that engine! :)
lol...sure..I'll shoot that!
Wow those are friggin cool! Love the vette
lol..I agree!!
As long as the motor fits who needs a steering wheel and seat.👍 Awesome video as always brother.
lol..That's what I'm saying...hand me the keys!!!...Thank You...Glad You enjoyed it!!

ScottieDTV how much do they go for?

They are awesome I'm a Volkswagen mechanic and I like the bug most but it would be better if it had a real Volkswagen motor :-)
what are they good for?? are this no r/c cars?
No trying to be a wise guy like your self....but....if you have to ask....you will never get it...
i think those where made in the 80's or the 90's
Ya...I don't know...I would have thought it was before that....

Randall Wyatt Ya....there is a link to a story on them in a post below...
