Amy, it’s such an honor to meet you in person and see you at the practice. not only you are such an inspiration, you are so humble and modest. I love this video more than others. so awesome Amy! and the team
I have tried to read about this incredible feet on the internet and its coverage is severely limited. This is so incredibly amazing I don't understand why it's not National and international news big time. This is one of the greatest feats of endurance I have ever seen swimming in water that cold for that long in these conditions! ASTOUNDING! (And at the same time perplexing from a news coverage standpoint)
I think one reason there is so little coverage of this is because they don't want ppl emulating it. The waters around the Golden Gate Bridge can be treacherous. This is where the infamous Alcatraz is & the waters are notorious for being choppy. It is also a busy waterway with cargo & military ships coming & going all the way to Oakland. Lastly, the Farallon Islands are a white shark hotspot year round due to heavy pinniped populations. They do not recommend swimming here at any time.
I just read about your story Amy, what an accomplishment! Congratulations! To be doing this after a quick nap from a long shift in a hospital is so amazing! One of the many reasons I haven't even thought of swimming because of the stigma of the already perfect bodies out their in Aquatic Cove or growing up in Florida with all the swimmers in perfect physiques. But I see someone with my similar body type and I'm like maybe I could at least start something! Thank you 🎉🎉
Congratulations!! Just read about it and wanted to see if there were any videos up..!! What an inspiring accomplishment..!! I’ll think of you the next time I am struggling to finish a lap in the pool :-)
Phenomenal! Frankly I don't have the intestinal fortitude it took to even jump in that water under the Golden Gate - that water is 'Monster Soup!' To make the swim for ANYONE is inconceivable to me. For someone's GamGam??? This lady is a force to be reckoned with! Cheers Amy! 💪💪
Boy, she was acting like a floating All-you-can-eat buffet for the Sharks. Even though it was Shark's "spring break," she was luckiest than a lottery winner

Works a 10 hour shift. Swims in shark infested, freezing water for 17 hours. Unreal.
I wish they wouldn't use the word feed. Especially out in those waters. incredible.
Congratulations!!!!!

Yup, back in the food chain. Have I heard that someone DID see a shark and they decided NOT to tell about it???
