1:30 that's a Cyber Key, Bobby. They were the main gimmick of the Cybertron series, unlocking special weapons and stuff similar to minicons. those blades/guns on his shoulders were related to that.

Bobby Skullface L in this figure, that key is merely a homage. No function. Just a really nice added touch. They didnt have to do that.
I already knew I wanted this toy but you demonstrated the articulation way better than the other review that's out. Now I really want it. I thought it was a Voyager Class figure so I was wondering why it cost so much.

Congratulations on being one of the few to get there hands on this one at this point. Shout out to those other lucky people who either got review copies or were able to pick him up at a con like TF Nation.
Sucks for the rest of us who might never get their hands on one. Seems like a truly fantastic figure.

Don't think I've ever watched such a positive video from you! I got a chance to mess with this at the weekend at TFNation and it is just legit, absolutely legit. Clearly a labour of love from Maketoys and I love that they're tackling these non G1 toys.

I'm a G-Oner but Galaxy Force Starscream always impressed me, so much so I picked up a voyager version just for the hell of it. From my limited knowledge with only owning the figure, this guy breaks the mold. The forearm transformation is out of this world while the rest retains much of the original design. And the articulation...WOW! A freak'n Waist Swivel!!!! I might have to upgrade now...my wallet thanks you ;)

I couldn't agree more! I was disappointed in peaugh's review b/c he didn't seem all that impressed, which surprised me. What impressed me most, were the mechanisms for the ab crunch, waste swivel, & the corresponding hydraulic lift in the back of the figure. That's some next level engineering that creates an impressive aesthetic while offering unparalleled articulation, & they did it on a design which most companies would have & could have simply ignored those articulation points.

I freaking LOVE this version of Starscream! He's what you get when you take of Screamer's best qualities & maximize them by a 100%, minus the incompetence & cowardly antics. And he out of all incarnates of the characters, I'd say he was the 1 who came the closest to his goal than most other versions of Starscream. Hell, he took a beating from Primus himself & survived! If they make a Master Galvatron from the same series, I'll go crazy. Galaxy Force/Cybertron Master Megatron/Master Galvatron is one of my all-time favorite incarnates of Megatron/Galvatron!
ive heard a lot of people say that
originally i was dissapointed that they went with the "mp" scale but after seeing it next to cybertron megatron, it looked pretty much right and now i dont have reasons to "hate" it XD, i really really love waht they did with the figure, but yeah, that second face looks derp, also the cyberplanet key is from the series ,as it was the main gimmick of the toyline, it appeared to the transformers and unlocked some extra POWER for each transofrmers (which for some reasons they already have the dedicated parts in their bodies XD) like the huge shoulderpads with the intgrated swords which the original voyager figure unlecked using said key, or some other gimmicks, the design was recreated directly from the series as so were the colors, for some reason, neither the original galaxy force(the japanese name and version) nor the cybertron (american) or any repaint of the mold were done in the accurate red white and blue colores, instead they were red white and black, some people say that the red white forearm armor has its color revered (compared to the color and detail layout of the toy) i honestly think is just a pretty minor mistake given the details are almost the same and only a single detail or angle makes the difference

I haven't seen you taken back like this since FT Galvatron. Nice nice. Maketoys is definitely improving all the time. Noticed that with Sureshot. Can't wait for the seekers after Jazz as well !

I grew up on the Unicron series and I have the original big ass starscream figure somewhere in my basement. I finally understand that nostalgia aspect now skullface always talks about.

You seemed really excited for this. Not really an MP guy but this has that action figure design which i love. Maketoys is probably the number 1 company based in there articulation alone

Truly amazing figure that I have absolutely no use for. It's a shame. Starscream is one of the very few characters that I'm completely beholden to the g1 design of. At least this reignites my hope for howling meteor a tiny bit.

Real talk I actually loved the Takara Voyager class of this Galaxy Starscream. (Voyager class never made it to the states) It was difficult to let go when I transitioned to MP but now it's great that I can buy this more awesome MP version.

Well i can only say this version of him was more driven then others when it came to being king, i mean he REALLY wanted it he went so far to go toe to toe with Optimus in an episode even though he was not 100%. So he was interesting to say the least.

This was on sale at TFNation this past weekend, I had the chance to mess with it and it is an amazing figure, very poseable, enjoyable transformation and just a fun figure. It doesn't fit into my collection, however if MakeToys G1 style Starscream is anything like this then I'm in for sure.

Cybertron Starscream was one of the best versions. Half way through he's like "fuck all of you, I'm wearing this crown!" His voice was wonderful too.

The little key he has is a cyber planet key or force chip if your in Japan, its like a power up key and it's what gives starscream his swords, great review I will be buying this as soon as I save up enough money.

I nearly picked up the original version of this figure a few times back in the day. That black and purple thing you put in his back is his cyber planet key, it was used to unlock special abilities like those purple swords in his forearms.

It makes the Supreme and original Voyager versions seem so lackluster in comparison. Which is saying something because the original mold was nothing to sneeze at either.

I have this guy preordered on TFSource. I contacted them today on whether or not it's cancellation will effect my order and as of right now it sounds like they are working with Maketoys to get this figure out to those who preordered it. He's arguably the most successful Starscream in canon, being only beaten by a god so I'd love to have such a rad rendition of him in my collection c:

It's "canceled" yet It's still up for pre-order on BBTS... I pre-ordered a copy anyways to see if that whole canceled thing was bs or not. I REALLY desperately want this guy in my collection. I've always loved this version of Starscream.

At first i didnt know how to feel abut this, but it has grown on me the more i see it.
HOWEVER! The one thing that i REALLY wish they had done was included the option to remove the blades and put them in his hands. It may not be 'accurate' but i just don't see how he could actually fight with them :P
That one thing really makes it hard for me to pull the trigger on getting it, which is such a shame. Oh well, maybe by next pay check i will have gotten over it :/

Definitely buying this since it's sized for my Leader Class Cybertron Master Megatron and Leader Class Cybertron Optimus Prime. If there was a KO UNDERSIZED VERSION; I would buy it for my voyager CHUG collection.. IF MAKETOYS SELL A SHATTERGLASS VERSION OF THIS GALAXY METEOR IN JETFIRE COLOR SCHEME, I WOULD BUY THAT TOO; it would make a great size Jetfire in my voyager CHUG family. Great review and an excellent figure, indeed! I hope they get to make their own rendition of Armada Optimus Prime as Transformers Armada was my first entry to the transformers franchise way back when I was in elementary.

Quickest transformation ever for an MP, less than 2 minutes along with MMC Kultur. Hardly any tiny piece folding or intricate tabbing required.
I seriously prefer proper transformers that are designed as a toy and character at the same time rather than a shape shifter that is a cartoon character first before being translated into a toy.
Sunbows designs are shapeshifters.

Very cool figure but zero connection to him. I was waiting for you to say "Maketoys" in your Fanstoys voice. It's really cool to see the manufacturer sending you figures directly. Okay so this is a late comment, but with Cold Constructs coming out and my general nostalgia hitting in (I grew up with the Unicron Trilogy and Cybertron is 15 years old, good god), I wanted to check out Maketoys' guys. But I'm really confused about it and their other products. Ive heard this was cancelled, but there are tons of reviews out, they announced an Optimus and Megatron but said nothing about it after, would you happen to know the situation in any detail?
So MMC Kultur and this guy as candidates for top 2017 TF toys? Both have simple transformations, good plastic and good articulation.

Between this, Cross Dimension and what I've heard about their G1 style MP Starscream it seems like Maketoys is really going the extra mile over articulation lately. It's come a long way from Giant, Gentoo and Chaos Paladin. Seriously all of these recent figures from them have gone above and beyond in this regard, and Thunder Erebus/Manus seems to follow suit.

I was gonna pass on this . I have a 2 pack release of this character with vector prime. Both were really cool bought it on a whim from toys r us years ago. loved them they had great articulation at the time. The deco of starscream in that pack was more like thrust. Anyway I've never seen this cartoon series I had no attachment to the figures. l later bought the prime from the series as he is a cool tot too. I see this on fb and thought easy pass not interested. Watched your review and I'm totally swayed to buy it now due to its amazing action figure element . Was blown away by it's design and articulation just like all these years ago back in 2007 when I bought the original version . Big thumbs up to this review. Can't wait to see their other mp starscream review.

While the Unicron Trilogy is considered to be one of the worse series ever (I like it though), it had really cool character designs so I hope other third-party companies we try their take on these characters.
Im pretty sure Armada was well liked, but Energon is considered the worst Transformers show ever made and Cybertron's animation is awful

I don't know the series this is from although it looks cool. Normally I collect MPs but that according leg thing blew me away. That alone is making me consider buying it just to screw around with that piece. Would love to see that on MPs

I'm new to the 3rd party Transformers game, having just gotten my first one this year, but do you think so far 2017 has been a pretty great year for quality 3rd party Transformers? I mean, I'm already into double digits on just 3rd party Transformers toys this year and I think I've been happy with every purchase so far.

Did I read that Make Toys has now cancelled this figure due to lack of pre-orders? Looking at your comments Bobby the people want this guy bad. Maybe you need to forward on the comments to Make Toys and get this guy back on the production line.

The only negative I find with this guy now that he's in hand that you missed was the almost useless wrist articulation. A really minor gripe, but it seems weird when everything else on this figure blows it out of the park, and the wrists can manage maybe 1-2 degrees in either direction, or you can turn them 180 degrees by transforming it partway and slotting it together, that's not really too useful.
I'm in love with this guy though, definitely going to pick up all 3, and I friggin' hate recolors. The fact they got a waist swivel and an ab crunch on a jetformer makes these things basically Bruce Lee in terms of articulation (again, sans wrists).

Me too! Thanks again for being a reviewer with a spine when it comes to criticizing these figures. It actually gives weight to when you say a figure is good, and that's important. Everyone else I'm aware of is basically the IGN of figure reviews.
