    Another great video! I am really liking the crossings set up in this video. The US needs this set up where there is a lot of pedestrians..

      Thanks. I really like the older pedestrian crossings with the GRS semaphore mechanisms, but I must admit these newer installations are safer. But if someone really wants to cross the track they will find a way, gates or no gates.

    Very interesting level crossing. First time in my virtual travels I've seen the pedestrian signals flash only to go solid right before the gates swing shut. I like that you capture the crossing from different angles and times of day. I know it takes some work to do that. I also like the multiple-trains-per-activation catches you kept making here. Another fine video!

      Thankyou! All new pedestrian crossings have the lights operate in the same way, I believe it is done to make them similar to the pedestrian signals at traffic lights.

      Thanks! Sadly the mechanical bells were replaced by e-bells a few months ago.

    I like the combination of WCH mechanical bells and WCH Electronic bells.

  • @freebrickproductions

    Also, I see the crossing has a bit of a "night mode" where only the e-bells will operate at certain hours of the night.

      Thanks. Most crossings in residential areas have the bells turned off at night, usually between 10pm and 6am. Not sure why they mounted the e-bells that way, maybe to reduce vandalism, I've never seen it done that way before. Interesting that they used m-bells and e-bells.

      McK&H Aust Why do they turn off the bells at night when safety is the 1st priority

    Cool setup there! I love the housings they built to hold the WCH Electronic Bells. It's unusual that they decided to use E-Bells for the pedestrian crossings as the Magnetic Autocontrol gates normally have built-in yodalarms.

    • @McKHAust
      @McKHAust  8 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Thanks. I thought the same thing about using e-bells instead of yodalarms, I bet those housings were expensive. It took me a while at first to figure out where the e-bells were hidden!

    • @maxstrainsfanssmash687
      @maxstrainsfanssmash687 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Nolman0001 I dont know what the point of yod-alarms is when the crossings already have bells but some crossings in Queensland have only yod-alarms

    I filmed this crossing 2 weeks ago and the bells sounded different so they must’ve changed it in late 2016 or any time in 2017

    • @McKHAust
      @McKHAust  6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I'm pretty sure that the bells were changed around August or September 2017, the crossings at Bellambi and Woonona also received new bells at the same time.
