Just wanted to thank you Sarah for sharing your knowledge and experience! I’ve been watching your videos for years and recently had my first baby. You’ve been such a huge inspiration to me as a Christian wife, Mama and homemaker!
Whole milk alternative: 50% cashew cream 50% almond/dairy free milk Sour cream alternative: Forager brand sour cream OR Forager Plain Yogurt with lemon juice added. These alternatives have changed up my baking game!!!
cashew cream can also be made into sour cream with lemon juice and salt! cashews are so versatile i love them! also, a little food science- the reason cashew milk is not a perfect alternative for whole milk is because it's lower in protein and possibly higher in fat depending on the amount of water used. i've been playing with adding hemp hearts to the mix, and it acts more like dairy milk!
I love all of your videos! They make me feel so motivated in motherhood. It’s such a treat to watch them during naptime or after bedtime while I make food for my family! It would be so much fun to have a whole video on muffins! Mini muffins, extra large bakery style parchment wrapped muffins, hearty breakfast muffins, zucchini muffins, lemon poppyseed… it’s endless! I dream of stocking my freezer for quick snacks but always get lost!
I am really enjoying your videos. My teens are loving your sourdough discard sandwich bread and your quick hamburger buns. I like the easy way you explain recipes. I wish I could have been a SAHM when my first 4 children were born. At least I can do it with the last two. May God bless you and your hubby and your lovely children with health, joy, and laughter.
Thank you for sharing these! I love your videos. I would love to see more snacks that aren’t pastries or so carb heavy if you ever make another video like this!
Sarah! Homemade Pop Tarts! Ritz Crackers using Playdough Cutters! You are BRILLIANT, Sister! Thank you for opening me up to a whole new world of yummy, homemade possibilities! 🤩🙌
It would mean the world if somehow you were able to teach us how to blur your kiddos faces. I've quit instagram and Facebook, but I still create on TH-cam, and I no longer want to show my kids. They deserve privacy. Anyways, it would be such a help to know how you do it 🥰

Loved loved loved this video! I'm watching while I'm waiting for my burger buns to rise 😂 Sarah, your recipes have been amazing & these videos are so inspiring!
Avocado is a seed oil, it comes from the avocado pit, just like olive oil does… evoo comes from the pits & the olives usually. Having a preference for a flavour is a fine thing, but there’s no substantiated evidence against seed oils. Besides olive oil is used throughout the blue zones & they have the healthiest diet.
You are my inspiration and motivation 🙏🏼🫶🏼🙌 Also what are your thoughts on milling grain to get full nutrition of flour instead of packaged milled flour?
I dunno what you're wanting the dairy to do in your muffins, but fermented oat milk might work for you. Obviously I haven't tried it in your recipe, but I have a dairy allergy, and my favorite way to make a tangy cheese is to ferment oats for a couple days with saurkraut brine. It gets nice and bubbly. If I were to use it in a recipe, I'd put 1/4 cup of brine with my oats and warm water that's below 95 degrees, and let it sit in a warm place for a couple days. Once it's bubbly, I'd blend it smooth, then strain with a nut milk bag and use it how you need it.
Are you just throwing dry kitchen towels on all your doughs in videos (for the rising/resting stage). Do the towels not stick at all to the dough? Are the towels wet? Damp? Dry? I love your videos and I have made your sourdough sandwich bread twice. So easy and yummy!
Not so fun fact! My mom has always been running around and craving salt (like to the MAX). She has not been great on her water intake and it’s my suspicion that she craves salt so her body will retain more of the water she DOES drink. Now she’s approaching 75 and she has discovered a potassium imbalance (aka the long term effects of her salt intake and lack of water). So LMNT is something I’m so interested in! I have heard of it here and there and I’m currently trying something else until I can save up for LMNT. Thank you for a sponsorship with a company that is sounding so good to people like me haha
Planning! I get whatever goes into the oven into the oven first then start on the next thing. Like how she got the muffins in the oven then put together the pop tarts dough that needs refrigeration. She can pull muffins when they're done and work on something else while they cool. It's literally just logistics. If that's overwhelming you can make 1 thing a day and then your snacks are just on a rotation and you restock with something different when you run out of another. I do the 1 thing a day when we have busy weeks and I don't have a whole day to set aside. Otherwise I do the rotational prep and cook like she is in this video when I have a day I can devote to kitchen work.
Just incase anyone is considering taking electrolytes, check with your GP first. I checked with a GP I follow on instagram who also speaks on national tv in the UK and does daily high cardio workouts. She said, unless you are sweating EXCESSIVELY, or your GP or health practitioner recommends it, you DO NOT need to take electrolytes to replace those lost during sweating.
@@thereseo4655 as I said, I’m just going by what a qualified doctor has told me. Lots of people advertise supplements etc without having the qualifications to back them up. I think anyone should seek a health providers advice before taking something as they can be in danger of experiencing side effects when they don’t need them. In fact if I couldn’t hydrate no matter how much I was drinking, I would definitely be seeing my doctor first as that could suggest other underlying causes.
@@kkkristi I agree, majority have absolutely no training. But electrolytes are less about nutrition and more about salts the body needs replacing, particularly when training for a marathon. But I follow a number of qualified Doctors who also have an additional nutrition degree on top of their medical degree because they believe in giving diet advice before medication.
If you havent seen Really Crunchy Mom's video then you should. She made "homemade poptarts" from scratch, and the when her kids and husband mentioned poptarts it made her panic. Its mainly parody crunchy videos that are very clean.
For the granola bars, I'm having trouble keeping them stuck together, as soon as they come out of the fridge they start to fall apart into a crumbly mess! Any tips?
So I know that you aren’t wearing it in this video. But where are your waffle knit robes from? Lol I’ve been watching a lot of your videos lately and they look so comfortable!!
Have you tried a can of pumpkin puree for the wet ingredients instead of dairy products? I do this with non sourdough products and the taste doesn’t come through very much, especially when paired with chocolate!
Can you not do ANY dairy? My son is allergic to cow's milk but can have goat milk. I don't consider it dairy but some packages do. I find it responds like cow's milk! Coconut just isn't the same for most recipes (especially yorkshire pudding!)
Please could someone help me? I am hearing alot of influencers online talk about replacing canola oil with avocado oil. I am alergic to avocado anyway, but I purchased canola (or rapeseed oil as we call it here) as a cooking oil because of its high smoke point compared to extra virgin olive oil which can give off toxins when heated. When I looked online it comes up with canola oil as the second most healthy nutrient dense oil next to olive oil, so i dont understand why people are saying its bad and not using it? I am genuinely interested in the answer as it seems so confusing. Does it depend on the quality? I bought organic cold pressed rapeseed oil. I am cooking with it daily for my family so I really would like to understand if it is healthy or not. Please help me. Thank you ❤
Unfortunately, it's not particularly healthy, especially when heated. Polyunsaturated fats, such as seeds oils (which includes canola oil) readily oxidize at warm temperatures, including inside of the body of the consumer. This oxidation leads to free radical production, which causes systemic inflammation that suppresses the metabolism, and this ultimately affects all aspects of one's health. Not only that, but seed oils require quite an involved process to be manufactured, one that involves the use of hexane, a known neurotoxin (and traces of hexane have been found in samples of seed oils sitting on the store shelves). Mainstream sources of nutrition advice will tell you that these oils are better for you, but that advice is influenced by financial interests, not the desire to promote health. Other options for high-heat cooking would also include coconut oil, ghee, lard, and tallow. :)
Raw milk has live enzymes that help aid in the digestion of milk. It hen pasteurized those enzymes due making the milk product harder to digest. I cannot eat dairy products from the store. However, I drink raw milk and use it to make all kinds of things and have absolutely no issues digesting the raw milk. I highly suggest looking into the amazing health benefits of raw milk. We need it in our diets as we all used to get it from our own cows before industrialization. We used to drink it raw from our personal cow until we stopped having cows and had grocery stores and milk men. The poor ability to refrigerate the milk products resulted in pasteurization techniques to avoid dairy products going bad and making us sick. Now that we have easy refrigeration methods, there really isn’t a reason to pasteurize milk and many people have gone back to the raw product. It’s actually amazing how good it is for you. I hope this helps you and your family!!

For those who have a hard time with dairy, try A2. If that still doesn't help, you can look into goat milk or raw milks.
