This is not the latest Apple iPad, but it is faster than I thought. It has a great screen and it holds a charge pretty well th-cam.com/users/postUgkxhcEDB3r-OJ3_X5hQzr7k1ZofTQy1ao_U . I was concerned that it would not be powerful enough because I have several older iPads that are slow and cannot update to the latest software. But this 10th Gen has the speed and power. I do not use it for video editing, so having an M2 processor is not necessary for me. This iPad model has an A14 processor. So far so good. Glad I bought it. It helps having a larger screen compared to my Apple phone.
i had the same problem, ended up upgrading from an ipad pro to windows surface book 3. The screen is much larger and i prefer the “squishy” feedback from microsoft pen vs apple pen. The laptop part is super nice but I wish there were ports for the keyboard half rather than all the tech being contained in the tablet half

I think the galaxy tab would have been definitely nicer for you ! For exemple the galaxy tab s6 lite is a 10inch tablet ( so definitely bigger than the ipad mini, you can get it for under 400$ now + it is delivered with the pen ! They are so underrated but trust me they're fire !
Yup it's pretty good. The Air's screen is a bit nicer but if you're mainly buying one for drawing/note taking and/or on a budget the Tab S6 Lite is a good choice. Now that we're in 2023 and iPad 10th gen exists one might want to look at that one as well (the one that's $449 w/o student discount) (though that one still doesn't support the pen attaching to the side), but the S6 Lite comes with a pen and will thus still be cheaper. If you want to save on the pen a bit with the iPad you can buy the Logitech Crayon, but it's not as good as the S Pen or Apple Pencil in terms of drawing since it doesn't have tilt/angled drawing support. Keep in mind, one factor that could put the iPad in a superior position is the app selection, but Android has improved a lot on that front over the last few years (i.e GoodNotes is coming to Android in 2023).

I was just thinking about getting an ipad for school. I go to art school and I'm using my grandfather's notebook with all his files. I basically have no room for anything else. It would be also a good drawing tablet because I've been using my phone for drawing for years.. I'll be getting the 2021 one probably. hopefully it will run all the drawing programs I need just fine
I’d recommend you do your research on whether the programs you need will run on the iPad but my friend is an artist and I believe she has the 2020 one and it works fine for her (although she does it as a hobby but she’s quite good). Overall if you need it for school I’d recommend checking it out especially if you have other Apple products as the syncing is great.

If your a fan of the CST/X-key L-Trac you'd probably love the Elecom Huge. I love the ambidextrous nature of the L-Trac but find the way my hand fits on the Huge superior. Also make sure you modify the L-Trac with the concave rollers if you haven't yet! Edit: The Huge is targeted toward right-handed users :(
I recently found your videos when doing research on minimal “dumb” phones and overall I really like your vibes and your dedication. I wanted to ask though, what is the timer you use at 8:10 ? I do pomodoro while reading but I find myself getting distracted by my own timers, so this one intrigues me a lot, however, I cannot seem to find it anywhere! Please let me know what brand it is/ where you got it!!!
Hey James! Just a quick fix on the camera thingy. Now I am looking at my iphone too, and I can say that you can easily fix that bump with a case, as it flattens out the whole iphone/ipad.
