  • Mutation Description: "The siege on the xel'naga temple has intensified. Amon's strongest creations embolden their minions as they break themselves upon your ramparts, only to rise again. Not only that, but they also attack your fortifications from afar. Endure the assault and keep the temple secure."
    Mutators:
Just Die! - Enemy units are automatically revived upon death.
Long Range - Enemy units & structures have increased weapon and vision range.
Inspiration - Enemy Heroic units increase the attack speed and armor of all enemies within a small range.
    Special Notes: P2, Pattern B
    Commander: Dehaka
    Prestige: Primal Contender (P2)
    Advantages:
-Pack Leaders and their entourage deal 50% more damage and have 100% increased life.
-Pack Leader cooldowns reduced by 33%.
-Pack Leaders can consume Essence for Dehaka.
    Disadvantages:
-Dehaka exits the map while a Pack Leader is active.
-Only one Pack Leader may be active at a time.
Masteries: 30 Devour Healing Increase, 30 Pack Leaders Active Duration, 30 Gene Mutation Chance
    Enemy Composition: Dominion Battlegroup
Kimmo's Notes: Because of how P2's disadvantage makes it so that there's one Pack Leader at a time, Pattern A would be so cumbersome in the early game. This gave me an idea to use Pattern B instead because the waves between the 9 minute mark and the 12 minute mark would have two waves condensed into one. Even with those waves condensed, a single, superpowered Pack Leader will handle it easy.
Of course, you get the trade of having to deal with more Hybrids and Void Thrashers in return for an easier early game this way. I remember three years ago, I did Pattern B and just never could do it. And I remember being on the verge of victory only to suffer a last second defeat before the countdown could reach all zeroes.
I supposed it was what I could figure out this time: Focus on the units. It's the units that present the most danger to the Temple and the Temple itself can tank a lot of hits from the Thrashers before falling as long as the units don't deal too much damage to it in conjunction with the Thrashers. That's how I managed to get around the problem with the extra Thrasher that spawns on the bottom left corner using this Pattern.
Another part of the trade is that you only have to deal with two drops that begin at the 15 minute mark. And that's it. Unlike Pattern A that has a lot of them that spawn them dangerously close to the Temple.
Honestly, I can't say which pattern is better objectively. It's just a matter of which one will play into your favor more in order to succeed. And in P2's case, it's Pattern B.
Dominion Battlegroup was still used because it plays into Murvar's...uh...legs? Egg sacs?
