Thank you so much for your work! This is truly one of the most valuable videos on TH-cam. It’s incredibly rare to find a guide on repairing the newer models of LG dryers, and your video fills that gap perfectly. The clear instructions and HD quality make it even more remarkable. I deeply appreciate the effort you put into creating and sharing this!
At last a tear-down Tutorial for people capable of doing a tear-down! Thanks for taking the time to capture all the camera angles needed for a clear description!
Need to thank you mate for the vid. Just got given one of these and it wasn’t drying after 3 hours. The evaporator was blocked solid with hair and fluff due to a ripped filter. Took about an hour to scrape clean but it’s working properly now. Cheers.
you don't need to strip the drum out you can lift the whole top section off complete leaving just the base on the floor. There is a screw on each corner and a few on the base at the rear, wiring unclips near the compressor fan then lift the whole top section off with the frame.
I just ordered a 9kg one of these without actually googling the problems with these LG dryers .. I should have stuck with my normal brand Miele.. but it had interest free so that's the only reason I could afford one.. Luckly I'm a motorcycle Tech so this strip down to clean it all out doesn't look hard at all so this puts my mind at ease.
Could they not use a finer meshed or a graded 2 stage lint filter coupled to an airflow sensor to circumvent the lint buildup in the dehumidifier unit?
Yeah the mesh filter is already really fine i think it goes around the out side of where the filter slides in over the years. I know the new new ones have a double filter but not sure if it will help?
Hi mate watched the video, great! Wonder if you can help. I’ve got the same one but hybrid. Stripped it cleaned all the fluff. Got it running no hot air whatsoever. Any ideas
4:15min....how to lift them up without breaking the attached copper pipes with the gas please??? You bend both evaporator condenser 90° back...?? It is attached all the way and can't be bent like shown?
Great question. The video shows the pipes and then the next frame does not have the pipes. It is not clear how the pipes were removed. Definitely very risky to do as if the pipes leak, one is done.
Hi great tutorial, we have the hybrid version its started giving error TE4. I have checked both thermistors and changed out the rear one above the heater as it showed 350m ohms to no avail, so decided to try the condenser as one post elsewhere said it was a clogged condenser. having cleaned it, and confirmred air is getting through I still get the error TE4, can you give any clue as to what is causing it?
I have yet to buy either the Whirlpool or the LG. Are any of these supervisor at avoiding these painful lint clog situations or should I just stick with my old resistance heat model? I'm in Massachusetts.
Candy Heat Pump Dryer, throwing lots of condensation around the internals of the machine but not much water collecting in the base, vents/exchangers are all clean maybe the plastics need sealed? when I opened it shortly after a failed 4 hour cycle, there was lots of condensation dripping all around the inside walls and other parts. not sure
Got DLHC1455W LG slightly over month ago, was working wonderfully, got the same problem of not drying and having condensation all over like if condenser didn't get any at all... I was cleaning filters regularly but we did a lot of drying, may be like once each day roughly. Pump seems to pump some water since I do see it going through the hose into drain some times. Figured your condensation issue?
is there an easy way to check the front intake fan of these models? I checked the condesor area on my dryer and it was mostly clean, no issues with heating up either yet clothes never dry.
I have the samsung and it has a second filter in front of the condenser but no matter how much you keep the filters clean the fluff gets in the condenser. They all should have a better option for cleaning the condenser.
Hi Jason, Great Video! I have a TD-C902H and it is quite squeaky. I followed the instructions up to just before drum removal. I gave the rollers a quick clean with a cloth and also the drive belt and drum where the belt sits against it. All back together but still same squeaks. From your experience, would you recommend replacing the rollers and belt? Is there anything else that commonly causes the squeaking?
Bottom filter unit!?! Ooh my. Did that shitty job yesterday, if only I had watched this beforehand... Gotta get into that thing again. Any pointers how to clean that water level sensor? I'm not going to admit I used a fork.
I have an LG TD-C80NPW 8KG SENSOR. I'm trying to take the front cover off but am having trouble, there is 2 panel, the drum part and the water dispenser part. How do i take it off. Thanks
Hello there, I have a LG Eco Drive 9Kg TD-C901H, I bought the machine in 2014, and now have decided to never end drying. Still looks as good as new, but keeps going on self cleaning cycle. I have removed the the hose that goes to the draw and installed the hose to the drain instead and nothing. No money to buy a new one, not even repair. :(
Hey jase I wonder if you help me. My LG heat pump dryer keeps tripping the RCD after 10-15 secs after I set the program. I’ve cleaned all the condenser unit and stuff out worked for a week and then it’s failed again.
Hi I have a Lg heat pump dryer that has not been working for the past five months. It comes up with a lint filter error saying that it needs cleaning. The lint filter is clean and i have had a local company fit a new sensor and PCB both of which have made no difference and the fault persists. The company have told me that they cannot fix the issue, so I'm left with £700 worth of broken machine. I am left with no option but to try to resolve the issue myself. I have started by following your video, with the idea of stripping the machine down and clean all the lint out and see if that sorts the problem. I thought it might be a problem with the wiring loom but LG do not supply parts of the loom. So I'm interested if you have come across the problem before or can suggest a fix that would get the machine up and running again? Many thanks Filip
The new dua heat pump still not working in the cleaning system? Why ithappens?maybe people keepopening while working for checking clothes and this lock the cleaning systemoperation? Is not in level with the floor?to much softner? Iwant to take the new dual heat pump butthis selfcleaning (notcheckableeasely fromthe front like the bosch one scaring me)

Whytbe condenser get all of this dirty? Is not suppost to clean it self? You dont show how you cleaned hd condenser it self...than i saw that he doesent not have the intercooler like bosch whirlpool and miele for keep thetemperature low
Oh Gawd. The plastic thingy from above fell onto the evaporator and condenser find....the fins, dented at the knock point. Two of them slightly tore 1mm. I can straighten them with a screwdriver and pliers, but man I hope that is ok. Soooo fiddly. I even haven't gotten them up and out yet due to weight, cut my skin (sharp as hell that stuff) and the copper pipes looking like breaking when lifting and thinking of turning away for cleaning....I don't know how. Uagh. There is so much sludge underneath I can see peeking with a torch(flashlight) down there. My husband already saying that this should be done by an electrician (? Good luck paying 4 hours or rather technician I would say) and that it might cause fire now because I clean it and dented a few fins. The fins are for area and can cope, they have no cables. I think. What I am surprised is the water I find under the copper pipes, not only under sensor and condenser. I hope I find a leak if there was one. The reason I opened was water dripping from the bottom of the dryer...could be the sensor as well as the container often is full without warning peep. Also how to clean the front at door, where the cleanable filters are in, would be good as a lot of fine, moist lint is stuck there and goes to the condenser. My hand is too fat to reach down there, so I took a stick and a vacuum cleaner tool, but I wonder what's around that corner after the filter holder. Dear companies, never again a "self cleaning" condenser please. It doesn't work at all!

Yes your right the lg just needs to have an openable little door at the front .. beko samsung and panasonic all have openable fronts to allow easy cleaning of the condenser such a shame lg doesnt

How much do you charge an hour? LG is great I love that the new machines have part number on the components.
Can these be laid on the back for transport?
What if the copper pipes leak? Can you upload a video about freon refilling? There is no information about this online.

Can you tell me how to know if the pump isn’t working. When you turn the mechanism should it fell magnetised. Mine spins freely😅
I have the hoover version. Is the lecy fan at the front supposed to run constant or is it there to come on to cool the pump unit?
