Hey Mike, I love your content, it’s great seeing someone work in depth with open-source software. A tip though, a cardioid lapel mic or closer cardioid, would help your audio out a lot. That along with a low cut should greatly improve the listener experience. It will make you’re voice richer and not pick up so much of the rooms acoustics. It should actually help with a boost to followers as well, as audio/voice is one of the biggest reasons for “bounce” (leaving the vid within a few seconds). You can pick up lapels pretty cheap and use Voicemeter (freeware) for a low cut.
Thanks Mike! I have just started using Gimp for my thumbnails a few days ago, and your videos have really helped me understand how to use gimp to get great results. I have a quick question though, and maybe I'm not using the correct search term...Is it possible to save an image, such as a logo within gimp, that can be pasted in the same size, and with the same effects that I can just grab from the software and paste without having to reopen, and resize every time that I make a thumbnail?
i am having a problem in resizing a new image when trying to add as a background. new image is either small or becoming large than the original. sorry for bad english!
I have only had Gimp on my Mac for 2 weeks now and I have done minimal work with it since I am still learning how to use the system. However, it has started to slow down tremendously and I have lagging when using the tools or even using commands. Does anyone know how to fix this?
(and even if you want to change it later... I routinely do text shadow layers, and if you want to redo, you just do alpha-to-selection on the shadow layer, erase, then redraw whatever you want. It's definitely one case where the layer mask is not needed... and can come in handy to do other things, such as integrate the text "under" some parts of the photo for "vivid effects")
Thought you were fading out. Been a minute since I saw a video post, but I forgot to hit "All" on notifications. Great video
Wonderful tutorial, Michael! For now, this is my favorite tutorial for this November! 😊

Great tutorial, as usual 😊
So creative
Is there any way to link the shadow layers with the text layer so that if you change the text the shadows change along with it?

Jesus bless you 😉☺️ dear plz Affinity tutorials
2nd example, you don't need a layer mask, the gradient will naturally fill selections

Hey Did You Remember Me ?? :)
wen i try to scale one image up on a layer it keeps scaling up all layers...what the fuk.
You either have all your images/objects on a single layer, or you have the "Transform Lock" icon enabled next to each layer in the layer's panel.
Your videos are great but could they be smaller? When I'm in a hurry, 23 min looks toooo long :-)
Yes, they could probably be shorter for the modern audience.
not working at all
what a crap
What's not working?
