Lisa is … I don’t know what to say about her vocal talent. Mastery at its finest! I remember this song when it came out in ‘91, and I was DONE! OMG, the song is so pretty with meaningful lyrics and sensuality. Wow 😮.
Lisa Fischer is an amazing singer and was a much sought-after background vocalist for years! Not only was she a regular backup singer for Luther Vandross (1983-2005) and The Rolling Stones (1989-2015), but she did the same for Tina Turner (1996-2013). Can you imagine touring and singing with these awesome artists...AND sometimes during the same time period?? That says so much about her talent and work ethic.
Lisa will forever be one of the "Unsung" greats in R&B/Soul music. I think her talent was meant to help compliment the talent of other greats. She recognized that being at the forefront, is not all its cracked up to be, and comes with more pressure and expectations.She knew she could be in the "background" and still shine so bright. She has done so ever since. A superstar she is and always will be.
I love the fact that all these years later that she is still being discovered and appreciated. I wish she made more studio albums but am so thankful that she made this one. So Intense (the song) is one of my most favorite songs of all time. Like you, I love music. Lisa is amazing. She’s Still doing her thing. I hope one day I have the privilege of seeing her live.
