The nylon plastic bearing DOES NOT need sanding in order for the stick to move freely fore and aft. It took me all day stripping this assembly apart and finally finding out what the problem was. If you like me to explain via email or something I am willing to do so. There is a couple of things to do, maybe I should post a video on team kitfox would be easier. I need to think how I can go about it
With the bellcrank, did you have to ream out the bearings a bit more also? I found the top 5mm of the bolt was 2 thousandths bigger in diameter than the rest of the bolt shaft. So it spun freely 90% of the way pushed through, and then the last bit was tight to push in resulting in stiffining up the movement.
wtf? i was inspired to build this plane by flying footage, but as soon as i watched this video it all dissapeared... Lot of sanding and filing, ordering turning and milling... that's not a building but manufacturing... Kits should have already perfect fit of the parts without this stupid work cased by laziness of the designer of this plane... It's nothing but mocking on customers. I'm an egineer and I can't let me to give such a "wet" undone product to anybody... It's shame and embarassment for me...
Rule number one to building any complex project... clean, organize and build a proper elongated workbench before starting the project... that's just the first step... good luck with your project
I am currently working on fitting my floor boards. When you worked on yours did you relieve the boards to accommodate the welding beads or did you file the welding beads flat?
Love that I found your videos! My sti should be here in about a month and I am pumped! Why are you leaving the project? Does that mean the videos will stop?
Agree, for tens of thousands of dollars, surprising that so much sanding and reaming to make the parts fit together is surprising….
Where are your prior videos?

I have a question
I have an answer. Do they match? Not sure.

Good info and lots of detail. Thanks for the information. I know explaining things adds time to your build. Thanks for posting.
Are those floor boards balsa?? I think ply?? Just imagine doing a plane from plans and drawings.

Got a new massive and clean workspace! Built two new benches! Thanks

I fit the floor boards to the beads. I don't like grinding on the frame lol
Very interesting video. How come you are waiting on so many parts from kitfox? Does one not pick up/ship the kit with all parts?
Factory blames it on COVID. But it also seems like bad logistics. Not very impressed with how my shipment was handled.
@@7KiloFox that is dissapointing however hopefully they can sort it out. Good luck with the build.
@@7KiloFox one more question, did you go for the quick build wing or will that be part of the build series?
@@willbdevey QBW definitely. wouldn't recommend anything else
@@7KiloFox Good to hear. Do you know (more or less) how much time it saves?

I have to go out to out to work but that may be delayed because of covid. Videos will stop but I'm not sure when and for how long.
