Even now I still don't how to deal with Kushala properly lololol I thought about using Weakness Exploit and try to get him fall to the ground by aiming only his head but with charge blade it's pretty hard to control where to hit. Teo and Nergi are fine with Weakness Exploits as their weakspots (Teo's head and Nergi's white spike) are pretty huge. I only fought kushala once on first encounter with story. carted 2 times and used lots of flash pod. Flash him only when he summon wind and fly. I didnt know about elder seal that time. Kushala is the hardest so far. Still hr 37 though. Tempered elder not yet encounter
vampirelordx1 flash pods are extremely handy for getting them out of the air and preventing them from doing their super moves. Nergigante and Teostra both have super moves where the they float up into the air and do a devastating attack. Nerdi's is a dive bomb, and Toaster's is a giant explosion. While flash pods work for cancelling these, if you're playing alone and you're the one being targeted the safest option is to do a Superman dive. If you don't know about this move, it's where you sheath your weapon and sprint away (you have to be sprinting away from the monster, unless you have a particular skill that lets you do it in any direction), then press the roll button when the attack is coming for you. This does a long dive that has a LOT more invincibility frames than a standard roll, in fact you're basically untouchable for the entire animation. If you time this right, a move like Nergigante's dive bomb or Diablos's charge will literally phase straight through you doing no damage. That's by far the most helpful tip I can give for dealing with them.

I need to figure out how to use the CB considering it can be pretty technical when you first start using it. But it basically looks like it boils down to, fill phials, charge shield, fill phials, charge blade, fill phials, destroy.
well yeah, but he also plays it at a level and rhythm along with positioning and familiarity that allows him to be that abusive. a lot of the times you probably won't be up to that level and so it's also important to remember the use of it's new evading roundhouse which really opens up mobility as well as the charge up sword strikes, shield thrust, and mastery of the triple hit triangle combo which, in turn, will lead to beforementioned cycle of elder dragon ownage.
For the tempered kushala just use flashpods when he goes up in the Air. Easiest fight out there. Teostra is also the same with his big blast. Just flashpod him in it. Or hit him with a dung pod, and every time he tries to leave flashpod him down.
that flash pod at 6:03 : i would have insert the "get your ass back here" meme. Great performance here. Now i get how to do a proper build to KO an elder dragon with a SAED on his head. They looked pretty powerless here nice job !
Good stuff. Beat this quest last night with full nerg armor, and vaal haazak switch axe solo. Think it took me about 18 mins. That's because I had to wait for the other two monsters to appear. Charge blade has been my second main in mh4. Think I'll give it a shot. Been using nothing but switch axe in this game. Once again, great hunt.
Honestly I found even Arch Tempered Teostra to be pretty easy, so if I keep gearing up, this should be pretty easy. Though I’d still like todo this with friends. Btw, thanks for showing your gear set. That’ll help a lot.

How do I get the majestic horns? I’ve hunted regular diablos and black diablos and I brake their horns but no majestic horns . High rank by the way. :(
It's from the breaking horn of regular ones. Pretty rare though so you just need to give it sometime. Try investigation quest with silver or gold reward slot, they also give you marjestic horns, still a bit rare though so good luck.

Ive got a question, i use the same weapon, but how do you do that attack when you killed kushala? Y use the same attack but its not the same effect as yours?, Also your indicator is always pink, its that alinment?
I always wondered why people liked CB, but now that I see all of those 100+ damage numbers in such quick succession, I think I know why. Obviously you have a bunch of Attack Up and Maximum Might with all of those Nerg pieces, but damn CB is more satisfying than I thought. I'm not a big fan of the weapon, but the guard points are probably my favorite part. However, I'm not sure how many there are, since I've got 4 or so memorized because they're obvious. Any tips on those at all? I know there's the transforming to axe and back to sword guards, and the one at the end of the Triangle x3 combo, and another than involves a Circle input that ends with the same animation as Triangle x3. Also, I don't think there are any guards you can do with axe mode attacks, correct me if I'm wrong.
Try to learn the monsters attacks , try to change to different weapon types , try to not be greedy and only attack when you know that you dont get stun lock - combo´d by nergigante with his piece of shi.... sry , uhm yeh thats it Edit: btw it is bad , the time for casual players should be arround 20 min , for more addicted players 10-15 ( i need arround 12-13 for most elder ) and for pros below 5 min
Is it bad even for a first time going in blind attempt? killed both first try but maybe i was playing too defencive, also ive only rushed the main quests so my gear might not be the best vs them
for the first time its not that bad , its good to be defensive when you dont know what ur fighting . you should grind some high rank monster ( wich you can kill easy ) to make better armour and weapons , then the time will improve with every hunt you do since you can dare more and more when you figured out there attacks

Lol there’s nothing bad about it, you defeated the monster within the given time frame. And if anything I am jealous that u took that long because there is still thrill in ur hunt, that the monsters still pose a mighty challenge for u. As time pass u will become better - a veteran - and that feeling of accomplishment of a big monster hunt will all but disappear, especially given Capcoms update model to the MH series, where old monsters AI never change, and only few new monsters are introduced each iteration. I am also a DB main, and the trick to improve is just to know control aggression when in Demon mode, as in learn to manage stamina, and to cancel animations when required so u can be as mobile as u can to avoid being hit and get into an advantage position to unleash all ur combos.
He had 2 red phials worth of charge (essentially 10 phials) look at 0:50 So he charge his shield with the first set of red, then he reloaded to store the second set of red phials.
There's no Charge Blade's move with iFrame I believe. The only move that seems to be similar is to do a guard point. But guard point is a guard. It's just stronger than guarding normally and if you have the shield charged, success in doing guard point will deal some damages back to the monster.
Do you get more and more time everytime you charge the shield? So say you do 5 Phials and get the 2:30 can you do that again and go up to 5 minutes or does it just restart the timer at 2:30?
normally if you charge the shield again when you still have some duration time left, it will pile up with each other. Let's say your charge shield has 30 second left then you use 3 phial to charge shield again, it would become 30 + 90 = 120 seconds left. Not resart the timer at 90 seconds. However, there is a limit to how much you can pile up the duration time. I'm not sure about World but if I remember correctly, in 4U it's 3 minute. So bascially, just one 6-phials charge is already at the maximum. So yes, what I did in the clip doesn't really make me having much more time with the charge shield as you might wonder. I just keep doing it to keep maxing the duration time for as long as possible before I feel like I need to go prepare to engage the next one.
don't feel bad. I struggled with him for quite a while (even though I have fought him countless times back in beta) before I got a hang with him too. And I can tell you, Nergigante is one of the monster that having better gear will change your life a lot as you will be able to destroy its spikes easier, making it's easier to stagger or even putting him down on the ground. I did this quest on PC this morning, and honestly I was pretty disappointed with it. Ran with an immortal hammer build. Only one that really gave me issues was Kushala with that damn aura, but after him the other two dropped in about 5 mins. I honestly hate that the monsters get weaker per monster in the quest. I wish there was an option to disable that and fight them at full Str. Then this quest might have been challenging.
Dist0rt3d Hum0r If the game cannot make it harder, then you make it harder for yourself. Use low tier gears, no flash pots, only potions no mega, do not buff up, no bombs, etc, etc. Make it challenging for yourself then, its not hard to do that.
I could if I had any interest in doing challenge runs, which I dont. My point is that, for an HR 100 quest, it felt very underwhelming. I ended up joining someone the next day who had sent out an SoS for the quest. It wasnt overly difficult, but was def more in line with where I thought the quest should be.
Damn that’s impressive. I just started using the charge blade after 180 hours because the game wants to keep giving me augment stones for it. I am nowhere near this fluid.

well, technically it will just fill up the time. I'm not sure what exact limit for the duration of charged shield in World so I just charged it as much as possible becuz there was plenty of time before Teo arrived anyway.
Noob question, but why do you deplete the durability and vials by attacking the corpses? Is it to buff the shield? Im maining CB now and am currently figuring out how it works apart from the moveset.
I believe that was when I store the energy before charing the shield but after reload the first stored energy. So yea, you dont have to use the phial before charging the energy again. just keep the phial and continue charging enerygy and you will be able to charge the shield then immidiately reload the phial from the energy you stored.
Thanks for letting me know I really appreciate it. One more question is how were you able to charge all 6 vials from a single charged circle and spinning slash combo. It takes me AT LEAST 3 full circle plush charged shield bashes to fill 5 vials. Time I saw you do this was 4:04
It's becuz my sword was charged. The additional hit you get from charging the sword also help storing the energy so that fasten you charge time a lot. As you said, normally the fastest combo to store energy is to perform one Charge Doublslash > one Shield Thrust > another Charge Doubleslash. However, becuz my sword is charged, instead of performing shield thrust which doesn't store your energy (the purpose of shield thrust is the combo is just to reset animation so you can do a charge double slash again), I perform a spin slash instead which help storing energy. With that and the additional hits from the charged sword and, I believe, one more hit I did before the performing the combo, I managed to fully store energy without performing another charge doubleslash.
I'm HR 14 so this might be a kinda dumb question. But why use the Diablos Tyrannis II over the Devastation's Thorns? Wouldn't the sharpness bonus outweigh the raw damage?
charge blade is all about raw power.. the phial burst can't crit and ignore sharpness. so it always do 100% dmg. the axe dmg can crit tho.. btw devastation thorns is also a good weapon and got a high elder seal. too bad it looks awful.. i hate using hair as sword. lol
Its used because you can get a 10% raw weapon attack boost with a non element-jewel. And since raw damage is way better than elemental damage in this game, the highest raw deals the most dmg >Diablos with the jewel
I believe it was 200 hours by the time I made this run. However, I have played this weapon since gen 4 so I probably spent more than 500-600 hours with this weapon. but well, I dont think I'm that good though XD. At least there are people like Rainy and Akantore out there that I still look up to. Thanks for the comment though, I really appreciate it.

Any tips on how to fight The Elder dragons I’m using a HBG and am dreading it. Already fought Kush and Nerg but haven’t got them down yet

You just need a charged shield to charge the blade ,no phails are needed

However, there is a limit to how much you can pile up the duration time. I'm not sure about World but if I remember correctly, in 4U it's 3 minute. So bascially, just one 6-phials charge is already at the maximum. So yes, what I did in the clip doesn't really make me having much more time with the charge shield as you might wonder. I just keep doing it to keep maxing the duration time for as long as possible before I feel like I need to go prepare to engage the next one.

don't feel bad. I struggled with him for quite a while (even though I have fought him countless times back in beta) before I got a hang with him too. And I can tell you, Nergigante is one of the monster that having better gear will change your life a lot as you will be able to destroy its spikes easier, making it's easier to stagger or even putting him down on the ground. So you will be fine in no time. :)

yeah. Monster corpses give you phial charge. does the same with Swaxe meter and Longsword meter

I did this quest on PC this morning, and honestly I was pretty disappointed with it. Ran with an immortal hammer build. Only one that really gave me issues was Kushala with that damn aura, but after him the other two dropped in about 5 mins.
I honestly hate that the monsters get weaker per monster in the quest. I wish there was an option to disable that and fight them at full Str. Then this quest might have been challenging.
Dist0rt3d Hum0r If the game cannot make it harder, then you make it harder for yourself. Use low tier gears, no flash pots, only potions no mega, do not buff up, no bombs, etc, etc.
Make it challenging for yourself then, its not hard to do that.
I could if I had any interest in doing challenge runs, which I dont. My point is that, for an HR 100 quest, it felt very underwhelming. I ended up joining someone the next day who had sent out an SoS for the quest. It wasnt overly difficult, but was def more in line with where I thought the quest should be.

well, technically it will just fill up the time. I'm not sure what exact limit for the duration of charged shield in World so I just charged it as much as possible becuz there was plenty of time before Teo arrived anyway.

Noob question, but why do you deplete the durability and vials by attacking the corpses? Is it to buff the shield? Im maining CB now and am currently figuring out how it works apart from the moveset.
attacking the corpse can charge your blade.. so it's a good preparation.

How are your vials automatically filling like that? When you transfer your vials into your shield you still have full vials how do you do that?
I believe that was when I store the energy before charing the shield but after reload the first stored energy. So yea, you dont have to use the phial before charging the energy again. just keep the phial and continue charging enerygy and you will be able to charge the shield then immidiately reload the phial from the energy you stored.

It's becuz my sword was charged. The additional hit you get from charging the sword also help storing the energy so that fasten you charge time a lot. As you said, normally the fastest combo to store energy is to perform one Charge Doublslash > one Shield Thrust > another Charge Doubleslash. However, becuz my sword is charged, instead of performing shield thrust which doesn't store your energy (the purpose of shield thrust is the combo is just to reset animation so you can do a charge double slash again), I perform a spin slash instead which help storing energy. With that and the additional hits from the charged sword and, I believe, one more hit I did before the performing the combo, I managed to fully store energy without performing another charge doubleslash.

charge blade is all about raw power.. the phial burst can't crit and ignore sharpness. so it always do 100% dmg. the axe dmg can crit tho.. btw devastation thorns is also a good weapon and got a high elder seal. too bad it looks awful.. i hate using hair as sword. lol

Its used because you can get a 10% raw weapon attack boost with a non element-jewel. And since raw damage is way better than elemental damage in this game, the highest raw deals the most dmg >Diablos with the jewel

I believe it was 200 hours by the time I made this run. However, I have played this weapon since gen 4 so I probably spent more than 500-600 hours with this weapon.
