Thanks to you, yesterday I made my first intuitive painting, it was very childish and I didn't reach what you do, but I had a lot of fun and for the first time I lost my fear of the result. thank you very much for your videos. Sorry if I write wrong, English is not my first language.
Best part of the week, Sunday morning coffee, and watching your videos. "Scuba diver rescues ballerina jewelry box before being eaten by big fish." I am definitely one of those out here who would love a 45 min video. ☺️. Merry Christmas.
I asked you about the book size a while back, and you confirmed I’d chosen the right one-but I had ordered the watercolor version. It’s funny that we both started our books with underwater scenes, totally unplanned! I’m in awe of what you create; your imagination takes us on such inspiring journeys. I’ve been following you since the start, and you’re by far my favorite artist on TH-cam. You bring so much joy and creativity into the world-thank you for that!-Barbara H.
Have you been enjoying the watercolor version? I think we both had water in our minds for sure! I’m so glad you enjoy the channel! You’re very welcome! ❤️🥰👍
I am 54 and recently been going through a major spiritual awakening and in this process, I came upon your channel not long ago and you have given me the courage and gift “To Try”! You are a remarkable artist and the talent you have, makes me speechless sometimes! Please keep going and showcasing your talents! I look every day to see if you have posted. Thank you and Merry Christmas to you!!!❤️💚🤍
I think I might splurge on myself and buy the neo color II’s for Christmas, maybe. I’ve watched you play with them for some time now and I really want them.
I did the same and I play with them just about every day and my grand kids and I have a ball with the Woody ones well worth the money for the creativity and time with my grand kids . note grandkids are not allowed to use the neos those are mine lol
Do it! I bought some with a Christmas gift card last year and they are SO fun! I take a few with me everywhere to play in my sketchbook during boring moments then add water when I get home.
I can honestly say they have changed the way I practice and make art. I really didn’t think I would love using them this much. But they are expensive, so I definitely get the hesitation. ❤️😊👍
Great fun, as usual. Where you painted that gorgeous green fish I had seen something like a pig with his snout pointing towards the edge of the page, and on the other side I saw a mushroom, but that was it. When I draw stuff out of a painted background I usually see one thing, but once I get started, I can't stop seeing stuff!
I can see the pig nose! Thanks for sharing your view! I’m the same way. If I take a break and come back, I might see something completely different. ❤️😊👍
I love your channel ❤At the moment I don't do art myself because I'm knitting very much. But your way of experimenting makes me eager to draw and paint again. I wish you a very merry Christmas and a happy new year. Many hugs and wishes from Germany 😊
I’m so glad you are enjoying the channel! I do crochet, though it’s been a while since I’ve picked up a hook. I hope you have a Merry Christmas too! ❤️😊👍
I'm seeing a frog and a mushroom on the right. On the left, some shrubbery in the background. Can't wait to see what u turn it into! U gave me the motivation I needed to start using my new set if prismacolor watercolor pencils.
Merry Christmas 🎅 🎄 ❤️. I've been loving your videos. You rekindled my creative spirit and fostered an interest in watercolour crayons. I was going to buy the Neos and Woodys but went for a cheaper version first from a local shop, and im having such fun. I look forward to watching your videos very much.
That’s great! I’m so glad you’re enjoying the cheaper version! It’s always good when you can find something similar that works well. The Neocolors have really helped my art practice too! I’m happy you found that creative spark again! ❤️😊👍
Thank you I really enjoyed watching this video. I saw the mushroom down by the divers arm and as soon as you put the eyes on the fish I could see it. I got the diver but until you pointed it out I didn't see the ballerina. Really enjoyed watching thank you.
@artbyheather ii've been trying a few things since wasting ink irks me to no end. .. hand sanitizer has become an unexpected surprisingly useful medium for cleaning pens nibs, any kind of paint brush before a proper cleaning, & seems most useful for fast icky removals without having to find a sink... air brush medium soaks for recalcitrant gel pen nibs after warming with my heat gun is another often helpful tweak, though admittedly, ii have a stash of gelly rolls that ii'll have to use with a liner brush as the nib parts do foul up, especially the black inks regardless of nibs size... must be something in the pigment-to-bjnder mix... ii made a 4 oz sprayer w/ a 3:1 mix distilled water to air brush medium plus 4 drops each vegetable glycerin, & clove bud essential oil for wetting/washing acrylic paints/inks.... and a second sprayer without the air brush medium for all water soluble paints, inks, gouaches & crayons... the clove bud reduces or prevents mold & the glycerin keeps things from cracking... made a couple of stay wet palettes a year ago for gelly gouaches & neocolor 2s (Sophie mcpike inspo) & only a couple of the gelly gouaches got slightly icky (the glycerin is sweet) but easily lifted off like a skin & the rest was fine, usually when ii don't use them for a month... sorry for the nerdy length...
That’s the beauty of watercolor paper and why it’s my favorite. I prefer to use my water soluble crayons on watercolor paper for that reason, including my inks. I love how it turned out. I saw a frog in a rainforest where you saw a scuba diver.
Page 1 I see the profile of a face and page 2 almost looks like goggles and a snorkel. Random brain of mine. Now at the end of the video and wow it looks so awesome I love it ❤❤. Merry Xmas and happy new year Heather and family Xxxxx
On the left I saw a profile of a kind monster with open mouth and either eating something or it’s tongue was showing. I saw gorgeous mushroom underwater. You always blow me away with what you ctreate from experimental art marks. Great imagination sweetie! Thank you.
Your imagination is incredible, Heather. ❤🎉 Great flow again. BTW I gifted myself a small tin of Neocolors II and did my first intuitive drawing. Guess the outcome - an ugly bird. 😂😂😂 I'm totally influenced by you. 😂😅😘
Looks like you can get a lot more layers in on that paper! I use canson xl mixed media sketchbooks from Michael's. I've never tried the masters touch from hobby lobby. I saw a mushroom and a blue swan in the beginning. I wonder how you would like hot press watercolor paper? Would it be smoother? Since you don't seem crazy over all that texture. Maybe it would be like an in-between. Your intuitive paintings always turn out so moody I feel like I could walk right into them! 😊
Hot press should be more smooth. It would probably be a good in between for sure. I’ll have to find some to try next time. I like the texture look, I’m not a fan of drawing on it though. You’re right, I definitely like the moody look. ❤️😊👍
Ok on the left I seen a bird with trees in the background. on the right I seen a persons face taking up all of the page. I guess he was looking at the bird. I have just recently fell in love with the hobby lobby Bristol sketchbooks. I tried the watercolor one but it was not strong enough so I am defiantly getting the mix media one next time. Love what you came up with.
That’s great! I’ve tried the Bristol paper before. I didn’t know they had it in a sketchbook. What do you use on it? Thanks for sharing your views! I can see a few different bird shapes. ❤️😊👍
@@artbyheather Well I got two 8 x 8 bristol paper sketchbooks and I have been working on my sketch a day in it. I have used watercolor and pastels and watercolor pencils but mostly just graphite and color pencils. It holds up very good. No bleed through. If you use a bunch of water it will warp a little. But I am going to try to work a little more like your intuitive projects in the next. I will let you know how it works with that.
On the right, I saw a frog. On the left, I saw a tree or trees with a meadow in front of it. I thought you were turning the left side into another frog or a crocodile at first!! 😂 Definitely something that might eat or scold the frog on the right because his eyes looked scared!! 🤣 When you darkened around the frog I saw, then the scubba diver emerged! 👍 It's very cool watching you work with all of these mediums and that the paper held up!! 🥰 What a great use for unexpected paper texture in a sketchbook that surprised you!! 👏👏 And you did it so quickly, too!! 😍 You have a very creative brain!! 💞❤
Thanks for sharing your views! I see how you saw a meadow kind of scene! That definitely sounds like something I would do with the scared eye look. 😆👍 I was surprised about the paper too! I’m going to have fun playing with it more in the future. ❤️😊👍
I like to try and use memory/imagination as much as possible with this exercise. But feel free to look one up if you’re giving it a try. Over the last year, I’ve really been trying to train my brain to not immediately need a reference. So it’s a lot easier if it’s something I’ve drawn several times before. For example, I’ve never drawn a scuba diver. I don’t think they take snorkels and oxygen masks, but mine does. 🤣
Thanks to you, yesterday I made my first intuitive painting, it was very childish and I didn't reach what you do, but I had a lot of fun and for the first time I lost my fear of the result. thank you very much for your videos. Sorry if I write wrong, English is not my first language.
That’s awesome! I’m so glad you gave it a try and had fun with it! Even if you don’t like the results, it’s valuable practice. Great job! ❤️😊👍
Best part of the week, Sunday morning coffee, and watching your videos. "Scuba diver rescues ballerina jewelry box before being eaten by big fish."
I am definitely one of those out here who would love a 45 min video. ☺️. Merry Christmas.
I’m so glad you enjoy your Sunday mornings with me! I love the story line too! Have a great week and Merry Christmas to you too! ❤️😊👍
Can hardly WAIT for that up-coming feast of a cover!!!!😮😮😀
It should be a fun one! ❤️😊👍

Once again a genius transformation, what fun. Thanks for all the entertaining and inspiring videos. Merry Christmas to you and your family.
I’m so glad you enjoyed it! Merry Christmas to you too! ❤️😊👍
45 minutes would be fine. I would watch you all day. You're a natural at art. X
Thanks! I’m so glad you enjoy it that much! ❤️🥰👍

Have you ever tried dropping acrylic dots and using a credit card to drag it down? ❤❤❤. Always love watching your channel!
I’ve never tried it that way before. I should give it a go next time. Thanks! ❤️🥰👍

I enjoy your intuitive paintings so much
Thanks! I’m glad you enjoy it! ❤️😊👍
That's a very nice surprise, I love the end-result. I definitely want to try this🥰🥰🥰
Thanks! I’m so glad you enjoyed it! ❤️😊👍
Don't leave it too long till next video! 😊

❤️😎👍
Thank you I really enjoyed watching this video. I saw the mushroom down by the divers arm and as soon as you put the eyes on the fish I could see it. I got the diver but until you pointed it out I didn't see the ballerina. Really enjoyed watching thank you.
I’m so glad you enjoyed it! The ballerina kind of blends in with the surroundings. ❤️😊👍
Microns go over or under watercolor , definitely before wax or oil, and over acrylics when dry. Love yr bold colors .
Thanks! I think wax may have been the issue. It might have been a little dried up from my not using them too. ❤️😊👍

I like the nerdy response! Thanks for all the good info! I appreciate it!❤️
@artbyheather 😄
That’s the beauty of watercolor paper and why it’s my favorite. I prefer to use my water soluble crayons on watercolor paper for that reason, including my inks. I love how it turned out. I saw a frog in a rainforest where you saw a scuba diver.
It definitely allows for more possibilities. I’m glad I tried it out. Thanks for sharing your view! I can see a rainforest scene for sure! ❤️😊👍
I saw a frog next to a mushroom. You made the frog a scuba diver. Very creative!
I saw a frog & mushroom too! GMTA LOL!
I can see a frog now too! Thanks for sharing your views! ❤️😊👍
I saw the frog and mushroom too! Love that it turned out completely different, the scuba diver was a great idea

On the right hand page I see a green mushroom and just to its left a fish 🐟 swimming around it time stamp 11:36
I can see it too! Thanks for sharing the time stamp! ❤️😊👍
You should do a live stream for the cover! 😱😁
😱 That would be fun!… but also scary. ❤️🤣👍

Oh, I see the pig nostrils! Thanks for sharing! ❤️😊👍
