You've done a GREAT job with this entire series. Starting off at the 50,000 foot level to get the concepts established and then diving down into the details for each step in the process. These are excellent tutorials. Thank you for the effort!
Please keep up the good work. Simple things like figuring out sunrise and sunset…unless someone tells you…you don’t simply find important info like this easily. Thank you for the graphs as well!!
Thanks for being here. No updated to report yet but check back later! Updated Aaron Halo Distances can be found here: cstone.space/resources/knowledge-base/36-refinery-to-aaron-halo-mining-routes
I'm just starting during this free fly. I've got an online buddy that had a PC built last week and another that's working on buying the parts right now, all to play SC. Your guides so far are absolutely amazing, thank you so much for making them.
A brilliant tutorial especially for us new citizens..very detailed, very well narrated and easy to understand. I’m working my way through your playlist whilst I await delivery of my new pc . Thanks for sharing 👍
man, since I discovered you brilliant tutorials, I referred to them more than any other vid. Nicely detailed comments for that 'aha' moment. The guide for the Aaron Halo is gold! making me more SCU /hr than on any other planet. Thanks man, hope to bump in to you at some point in the verse. o>
Thanks for doing these videos. I am able now, since I have done it so much, to drop out into the halo just by looking at the map. I have not played since Invictus and I know some things about mining have changed I am sure I can adapt. Thank you for the stuff I didnt know! I am fixing to get back into the game for a while. This will help.
I'm sitting here on the planets surface in lyria in a prospector no idea how to ping to find rocks...you don't show the default keybindings for that or go through exactly what to do to find rocks in the first place on planets. Can you advise please. Left click is not sending out a ping at all.
Hey, you speak about good break and bad break. Any way to know if it's gonna be a good or a bad break before mining the rock ? Or any technique that gave more good break rather than bad break ? Thanks for all the work done here !
Guys I’ve gone to all the places mentioned for Quantanium. I haven’t found any in amounts worth mining. Did everything change from .15 to .15.1 ? Where to go to find Quantanium?
Aaron Halo is probably the best spot. Use the PDFs to find the right spot to exit quantum travel from there it takes awhile. If you're having trouble mining with other players can help since some players can scout for quantanium while others mine. joining an org can help with that
I changed my go to spot to the Aaron Halo, (from CRUL1 to ARCL5 exiting around 12.8mljn) I did most of my quant mining on Lyria, found some on Daymar, and other moons but sometimes it took me ages. Just take your time to look for them and I guarantee you, you will find the mother load, more than your Prospector can carry in one go.
I can't find detailed information about the different types of rocks you mention at one point. Does it mean that Q-Type will always contain quantainium for example? Is there a resource somewhere that details what every type means?
Prospectors are available for rent at the refinery stations, which are at the L1 Lagrange points. The rented prospector is pretty limited since you can't change out the lasers or modules.
I've done lots of ROC mining. And with 3.15 it is no longer possible to scan a rock and see what gems it contains. Your only clue is the color and Dolivine is a pain to mine. Anyhow, I digress. My question is, in your video you seem to get good scans that show the makeup of the rocks you are mining. Is this because you are in a Prospector vs my Cutty Black?
Yes, the prospector or mole mining lasers will provide complete and accurate scan data on a rock. The ship scanning system is missing info on it right now which makes it difficult to do surveying in non-mining ships.
@@RedMonsterSC Wow! Thanks for the quick reply! And thanks for these great tuts. I'm looking at getting started with a Prospector. So helpful to have these videos.
I have subscribed and hit the bell but since google has decided to be douche bags about displaying the data for the dislike button to make researching the truth harder I no longer use the thumb buttons. I would have given a thumbs up though.
There are a lot of rocks that aren't scannable right now. If they are surface rocks I've had a fair bit of luck either hitting them with the onboard weapons once or twice or hitting them with a laser pulse. If they are asteroids in the belt I haven't found any way to get them to re-sync.

I always thought I was well versed in the more technical side of mining, but, sir, you've shamed me. Great info!

@@taunhawk9888 you're right! They changed domain names a bit ago and this still pointed to their old one. It's updated now!

Re. Navigating in the asteroid belt: You can also use the Pitch and Directional Compass on the ship's HUD to navigate too.
Just use the heading markers on the HUD to navigate and its a lot easier to stay oriented in one direction.
Yep, when surface mining I'll usually head directly north or directly south, depending on which orbital marker I start off at.
Good series. Would be good to cover rocks too big to break solo or that can only be done with modules.
That would be a great addition! I'll need to queue something up for it but I'll try to get some practical demos.

That's all up to RNG, so no real way to tell ahead of time.
@@RedMonsterSC maybe some mining gadgets will do this. I didn't check them !

Most of this video was recorded using the MISC Prospector, a single seat mining ship. The ground buggy is the Greycat ROC.
