People forget that 300's exist out of a way simpler reason and not every market-decision is centred around the U.S. lmao. 300's and 400's exist because the european market needed bikes that were legal under the A2 license restriction. Which is the first motorcycle license most 18 year olds get which limits a bikes power output to... you guessed it, 48hp, which is precisely what a lot of these bikes aim to put out, factoring in weight to power ratio. So, no, these 300's/400's didn't just come about out of coincidence. They serve the japanese and european markets because of the license restriction here. A2 license required a market for these bikes. The U.S. doesn't have that type of restriction so the only reason you should be getting one of these smaller CC bikes is if you're a beginner that would most likely crash his 600 into a tree at 90 mph somewhere.
@@motosafari6378 with 16 years u can get the A1 license which is 125ccm and 15hp, with 18 years u can get 250ccm (or 400idk) but its 48hp and then finally with 20 years you can buy any bike you want (or afford 😂 ) (I want yamaha r1m or bmw s1000rr)
joemrp05 yup same here. But for me it's because to insure my R6 in Toronto is too expensive. I don't wanna pay over 2k a year, for just a few riding months. Here in Canada, most of the time it's always either really cold here, or worse, snowing. Mind you, I've had my R6 for 6 years (with a clean driving record), and its gone up every year from the $1,300 a year I used to pay, to these restrictive prices they're charging now.
buy an f4i. I have that, I use it in Budapest, it is having quite heavy traffic but still confy, the riding posi is same as the r3. but buy the 2002 f4i, it has 110 hp, and adjustable suspension
'please don't kill me - what in the world!' haha, same dude. awesome video - i'm finally going to get my motorcycle license and am researching bikes likely to be a good first bike, and this seems like a really excellent choice from everything i'm seeing! thanks!
I currently own a 2016 R3 which was my first bike. I have had it since December 27th, 2017. It is a nice little around town bike. My only problems with it are my ability to keep up in group rides due to everyone else being on a higher CC bike; and, being blasted by the wind on the freeway because of the upright seating position. I will look into changing the windshield which you suggested.
Both bikes don't have enough power to really get you into alot of trouble. The 500f is more torque down low, and the R3 has a more aggressive riding position with more high end.
Started on a cb300f and have been riding for a year now. I'm looking for a different feel when it comes to riding but also for something with a little more power. I was interested in going for an mt-07 but I love the changes on the R3 and I'm sorta swaying over to the supersport market now. What would you recommend?
It all depends if you want to stay with a naked bike or go to a full fairing. MT bikes are great and if the 07 isn't enough you can always go up to the 09
OK I have a 2019 R3 had Yamahas a long time. Yep it's a Diamond frame most are like the ninja 400 the cbr250rr and the suzuki gsxr 250 r because it's cheap Total weight is 164 kg wet Spring rate is 7nm set for a 80 kg rider. Forks are 37 mm Gearing is 14 f /43 r sprokets Top rpm is 12500 till it hits the limiter Top speed is 186 kmh Hp 42 He's the issues 1) front brake is woeful and a very sensitive abs ( 5 :1 sec) 2) Front Dunlop is bad alot of patter on turn in 3) abs routing looks nasty 4) large gaps on the side covers 5) it's geared wrong for commuting 14/45 ratio is better. The good points 1) easy to ride 2)Comfortable 3)Nice gearbox 4) wind resistance is good There are endless aftermarket parts for the R3 I have a fully adjustable front fork cartridge kit and rear shock Rear pipe Sprokets Etc Then it's a even better bike. But that can cost up to 3k more The 2020 model is suppose to be getting a 375 cc engine slipper clutch and Delta box frame? Rumours here in Thailand!! But if your a new bike rider and want to get into motocycle riding the R3 is a very good choice to consider. If anyone needs more info on the R3 happy to help no dramas.
I wish our country was as bright as yours. Otherwise I'd be getting the 250rr than the R3. It has a better odometer face colored not cheap looking like the R3s and it just blows the R3 design out of the water.
I don't like the fact that manufacturers always de-tuned their engines with the lower CC class sportbikes. I mean, 300 should make half the power of a 600 but it doesn't....... makes one feel like having these smaller displacement bikes doesn't give one the feeling of a 'high performance' machine underneath them!! And pics of the wife on the bike, I want to see how a smaller person fit on it since I'm on the smaller side too. :)
Odd that you never mention the obvious competitor to this bike (with a similar seat height), the ninja 400. Any particular reason you never considered the ninja?
Im no mechanic but it has something to do with the fuel being flushed out from the FI and is replaced with new fuel from the tank. And just like an engine it does not have the time to warm up yet 😊
Been thinking of starting on an R3 as my first bike.

@Robbie D I'd argue that the Vivid White is way nicer

r3 looks so much better in person. no pictures u find online and vidoes that actually show its beauty

max out your skill level on the R3. anyone can go fast in a straight line. By the time you upgrade it will be worth it.
They still have those side blinkers... now I remember why I didnt got for cbr, bugs me idk.
Raleigh represent. Nice.
That bike is sooo beautiful.
I will buy this bike when this arrives in Brazil. 25.000 reais here S/2
I am so buying this bike, I might get it with ABS. I live in Oregon, summers are beautiful here but it only last like 3 months then it rains a lot.
debating with an r3 or a 390 duke as a first bike. the r3s are much cheaper to find around here so i might go with that
Fyurex thinking about those too,but i am going with the r3
